The Up Too Early MMP

On a related note, I was working with one of the managers when she asked me what time it was. I told her “It’s 6:27 and time for the penguin on your television set to explode”.

She didn’t get it.

Damn kids these days. What’s become of our educational system?
Oh ---- I almost forgot ------ FIRST!!!

Still alive. Haven’t read. Rosie’s sig to all.

To get back to the blue jeans mini thread:

I wore ugly blue plaid uniforms until high school. We did wear shorts under the skirt for PE though. High school was when the preppie look was in. The cool girls wore Calvins with the label removed because “anyone who buys Calvin Klein knows the cut”. Whatever! I couldn’t afford them even if I could’ve found some that fit.

I have yet to get a decent potato salad at a store. They may as well make it mashed potatoes because it is always so mushy.
I take that back, when I lived in the country, the local stores would get real food made by the Amish in the area. The Amish ladies made very good cupcakes and very good potato salad. I hear their pies were wonderful, but I’m not much of a pie person so I can’t vouch for them.

It’s my Firday.

I worked, went to the Booster Club meeting. We had Mike Maniscalco the in game host as speaker.
For the mini threads, been a while since I’ve had pimento cheese. And I’m young enough that blue jeans were no big deal. : jumps up and down on everyone’s lawn :

You funny. And you speak the truth.

Good morning one and all. It’s sunny at 74, with an expected high today of 86. Unfortunately, the temperature is all downhill after that - by Monday it’s back in the 60s. Still, I have to walk to a class in about 40 minutes, so I may break out the sandals, even if just for one day.

Today is also a minor fast day, so no food or drink until about 18:10. Not drinking will be the hard part.

Spousal unit just called from the rest stop at the NC/VA border. Considering when he left the house, I’m pretty sure he exceeded the speed limit a couple of times.

Last night, he asked me to set the alarm for 4AM. So I did. So he woke up at 3AM, which means I woke up at 3AM. I decided to reset the alarm for 5, but fumbling by feel in the dark, I hit the stoopit “fall asleep to music” button, which goes for 59 minutes, even if you set the radio to OFF. It wouldn’t have been bad if it was music - instead, it was NPR news.

After he left, I tried to fall back to sleep without luck. I turned on the TV and watched the news, and right about 5, when I usually get up, exhaustion hit. I was in the office before 6. I’m leaving early today…

So, yeah, Happy Thursday. Dammit.

Once again I find myself trapped in the “only way to get out of being poor is to not be poor” loop. I can’t afford to pay the fees for this semester, to get the qualification I need to be a viable candidate for jobs, so that I can pay my bills and have a decent life again.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 42 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 79 and N.O.S. for the day. I’ll be able to open up da cave this afternoon so that’s good. This mornin’ I need to get some errands done in town and go by the church house to empty the dish washer. ‘Tis full of bowls and spoons from last night. I foresee a trip to the liberry as well. I have a whole chikin boilin’ away as I post cause I have been productive this mornin’. I have also boiled some aigs which are currently coolin’. Chikin should be done in just a bit. I shall let it cool down whilst I am errandin’ etc. It shall be turned into a chikin pot pie for tonight’s and most likely tomorrow night’s dindins. Oh and I have peeled and diced N.O.T. to go in as well. See, productive!

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. I think I shall purtify and go grab me a bizkit from MickeyD’s just cause.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. I already cleaed the bathroom, and drank my first pot of coffee. Life is good.

Mrs. Bowser went to the store, and brought home a nice present for me - Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey Whiskey. Now, anybody who knows me, knows that I’m a Scotch drinker . . . but I’ve been known to drink Jack Daniel’s on occasion, and I loved their honey whiskey when I’ve been offered.

I told Mrs. Bowser that I was tippled pink. Can’t wait to try it.

**Bowser **- **FCD **isn’t a whiskey drinker at all… EXCEPT for Fireball. He loves that stuff. So does my youngest sis. Personally, I don’t see the appeal, but then I hardly drink anything anyway.

Happy (had to look at my phone to see what day it is) Thorsday!

It’s bright and N.O.S. outside, supposed to get up into the low 60s.

My first world problems of the morning are:

  1. The apple pie we got from the grocery store yesterday is HORRIBLE! It is so sweet I can hardly eat it. I hope Sah-son likes it, otherwise I’ll probably throw it out.
  2. Once again, somehow Java got disabled and you’d think as many times as I have had to fix it I’d remember how to do it without having to look it up.
  3. I have no idea why the dog was barking this morning. He almost never barks, and he woke me up an hour before I needed to get up. I stayed up until 3 last night hoping I would sleep through the night, and I had been sleeping really well.

Now of course, the dog, cat, and kid are all snoring away.

I have to remember to put the moso bags outside today, they are long overdue for some sunlight.
Now that the pantry, fridge, and freezer are full again, I have to decide what’s for dinner. Probably hamburgers tonight, but that could change.

The cat just woke up and is being a pest. He sits and stares at me, he won’t stop staring at me. He has food, and water, and clean litter. He doesn’t want me to pet him, he wants TREATS. He had treats already this morning, but he will keep bugging me.

He reminds me of my younger niece, persistent and won’t take no for an answer.

Is this week dragging for anyone else?

I’ve had the potato salad from my grocery store deli (Ingles) and it’s actually really good. The best stuff, though, is their chicken salad. Dee-vine. (The macaroni salad bites the big one–it tastes like Miracle Whip that’s gone off.)

Add me to the list ---- {{{{{Batboy}}}}}

Tomorrow I am doing something I’ve never done in Da Jungle before ------ blowing off work just so I can do some things just for me. Attend a motorcycle club meeting, have a nice dinner, get some extra weekend. It won’t be a regular thing but with some of the stuff coming up in my life/future I just feel the need.

I got home late last night, sat down at the computer & started to post when the lights flickered, went out, came back on (but long enough that the ‘puter would need to be fired up again), then went out again. Didn’t feel like typing from the phone so I went to bed. Good thing as I was tahred & it was out for almost an hour. Didn’t sleep well, either. This would be an appropriate t-shirt for today.
Left irk late & was on the interstate on my way to training when the tummy starts agrumblin’ & I just happen to see a sign for Mickey D’s this exit. I’ll get something light & keep going. But…Noooooo, that doesn’t happen. Of course the Mickey D’s is about a mile down the road on the opposite side. The KK is ¼ mile down the road, on my side & the ‘Hot’ light is on so I stop & get two; one for immediate consumption & one for dessert (approximately 5 mins later). When I get to Mickey D’s, I see the sign for my favorite…:clubs:Shamrock Shakes:clubs:, so I have to get one of those too. So I did have my little snack, but added two KKs & a :clubs:Shamrock Shakes:clubs: to it. Needed to walk around for an hour to digest before I could start training, which is why I got home so late.
Got an ‘e-text’ last night from an unknown source, with an attachment. I’m usually very cautious but given what I knew about it, threw caution to the wind & opened it, it was a picture of me from my HS yearbook. I used it for my #tbt shot. Finally (I think) figured out who sent it, but he hasn’t confirmed it yet so I’m still not 100% positive.
Hey, Butters, how close are you to Center St, & do you know this resident?

We have half a bottle of Fireball in the freezer, mostly because the kids like it when they come to visit. It’s OK, but not really my speed.

I made brunch: Italian cheese omelet, rosemary hashbrowns, and sauteed asparagus with garlic and Calabrian chilies. Got to go Krogering in a bit.

:dubious:
It’s like R-rated liquid Atomic Fireballs.

Spdiey, those things will really grate on a hangover. I can see why he wanted to play “Deathrace 2000” with Mr. Bird.

Howdy Y’all! I’ve actually been busy today. Got the dishes all put away in the church house kitchen, ran some errands, went to the liberry, made up a chikin pot pie, and yanked stuff outta the storage room in the garage where the hot water heater lives. I bought a new hot water heater a couple months back and it gets installed tomorrow mornin’. My handy guys are showin’ up tomorrow mornin’ to do that and reverse a double gate on the backyahd fence. They’re good at this stuff and do it for a reasonable price which makes it worth it to me.

{{{BatBoy}}} hope things are better soonest.
