Early to Bed and Early to Rise MMP

Morning. 'Tis the third day for me of waking early. I want to start getting to irk earlier so I may leave earlier. Our office hours are 9-6 American and I don’t mind staying until 6 but that puts me home at 7 PM which is a little late to cook, eat and clean up after. By then it’s bedtime. So this is day three for me awaking very early. What time do you arise?

First!

I set the alarm for about 4:15 AM. I’m at work no later than 5:45 AM, which is actually late for a job as a baker.

Second!

My alarm is set for 6.30am but I am usually awake long before that. I have time to get a shower, dry my hair, get dressed, feed the cats, medicate Shadow, make my lunch, make breakfast and wash up afterwards. Then just time to brush my teeth and skedaddle to the bus stop. I get a bus to the station, a train to the city and a bus from city to campus. Then just a short walk over to my office. Normally I get to the office just before 9am so it is a long trip in terms of time but not in distance. I have driven to work before but that actually takes longer than the hour and a half on public transport.

We have confirmation that as of today, kaylasmom will still be needed and feeded by me.

My turn will be in 2020.

ETA: Kayla sent me a text, asking to be roused at 8:30. Her agenda has her starting the day by delivering a bottle of “wine”* and a wineglass to her BFF, who is also celebrating a birthday (her 21st).

At about 9, I hope to be bringing the dog and cat to a pet bed and breakfast for a two-day stay. The rest of the family will head to the Paradise Pier Hotel at the Disney Resort, for our own “stay-cation.” Just hanging out in the hotel for today, enjoying the comforts and distractions of what Kayla has told us is the “club level.” At 8:00 we have dinner reservations at Carthay Circle, a fine dining establishment inside Disney’s California Adventure park.

Tuesday will find us visiting both parks for shopping, meals, and perhaps a couple of rides or two. Having a daughter who’s a cast member (with its attendant sign-in privileges and discounts) can be very nice, around birthday time.

*I put scare quotes around “wine” for good reason. It’s a bottle of Stella Rosa, a fruit juice-flavored wine-based beverage with a lower ABV than most malt liquors (BFF doesn’t care much for the taste of alcohol. This fits that bill, and Kayla feels that getting something for your twenty-first b’day is a rite of passage).

Our alarm is set for 5, but my bladder is on its own schedule, so sometimes I’m up before 4 and can’t fall back to sleep - which isn’t much fun. My morning routine includes showering, figuring out what to wear, feeding the dog, packing my lunch, giving the kittehs their morning treats, and making sure there’s water in their fountain. I get to the office generally between 6:10 and 6:20.

Today, it was rough getting up - I must have been deeply asleep when the alarm went off. Such is life.

Happy Moanday!

Happy Moonday!

I am up earlier than I like to be.
I woke at 5:30, but I would like to get up at 6:30 every morning.
I’m working on getting into a routine, it makes life easier and keeps the house cleaner.
However, waking up at night and/or taking naps during the day mess up my attempts to keep a schedule.

It’s a cool 71 degrees outside, but it’s supposed to go up to 90.

Nothing special going on today.
The front postage stamp needs mowing, and I hope the recycle people pick up the trash this week.
The furnace man comes tomorrow, and we’ll go grocery shopping on Wednesday.

Sounds like fun KD

**Dad **- my daughter works part time at Disney World in the Animal Kingdom. If I didn’t hate the whole theme park experience so much, I could get freebie passes from her on the rare occasions I return to FL. The main reason my daughter works there is to have free access to the park all year. She teaches so she only works at the park part time in the summer, but she and her friends go to the park all the time. I don’t get the appeal myself…

OK, back to work with me.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 86 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse beginnin’ late this mornin’ and goin’ through the rest of the day. We shall see. I wake up anytime from five a.m. to seven a.m. I don’t have to get up early but I just do that naturally. I got that from my father. Then again, I consider ten p.m. as late to stay up. Today’s big plan is to defilthyfy da cave which won’t take a whole lot as the place is relatively clean but could stand to be dusted, vacuumed and mopped. Tonight is men’s night over to the church house, thus steaks are marinatin’ and beer is chillin’. I shall head over there around fourish this afternoon to set up and do prep stuff. Them N.O.T. won’t bake themselves and sallit won’t make itself after all. Plus I don’t mind doin’ that.

DAAAAAAD happy 64th to kalaysMom! Sounds like a fun bday celebration.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then I shall purtify up a bit and begin defilthyfycation.

Happy Moanday Y’all!

Early to bed, & early to rise…& your girl goes out with other guys. :smack:

Actually this week, & really last week’s MMP should have been titled the Palindromic Date MMP. Today is not only palindromic but only needs two digits.

Roomie is still sick. She and her brother went to the hospital again last night :frowning: though they’re out now, so I hope she’ll get better.

I’ll head to the family house today, and probably tomorrow. Then Wednesday I have a rehearsal for a concert on Thursday.

Morning all. My bladder usually sends me a 3:30am wakeup call, but I usually go back to sleep until 6-7am. Even on my vacation, when I was walking a lot more than usual and wearing down, along with the 6-7 hour time change, I still found myself on the same schedule.

Got a long list of things to get done today, primary is paying my electric bill in person (due today and can’t pay by mail) and getting my drivers’ license renewed (it expired while I was on vacation). Also need to call the people who put in my replacement windows, they measured one wrong and had to get a replacement for the replacement.

Haven’t been to Disney parks in over 20 years, but if somebody would give me a free pass (also a free hotel and free transportation, I’m not fussy… <grin>

The OW gets up around 6:30am and I usually get us around 7:30 not too long after she has left. This way we each have the bathroom to ourselves. She gets home about 5:30pm but here I complicate things. I leave for work around 2pm but can get home any time between 7:30 and 10:30. Our basic contract ranges from 3-5 hours with a 6th possible if needed and we volunteer. So most weeknights she basically fends for herself and I either have that as leftovers or do something lighter for myself. Not wanting something heavy just before bed I often fall back on some cold cereal as dinner. I think I’ve said this before but since starting at Da Jungle I’ve basically changed to a “farmer’s schedule” and do my bigger meal at noon.

I get anywhere between 5:15 and 6:15 am. Depends on how deep I am sleeping, how much I want that extra 15 minutes, and how much Ursala Kitteh is asking for breakfast. Most times we wake up at the same time. Then I make coffee, have a smoke, wash my hair, get ready, and leave. I’m at irk between 7:30 and 8 am.

Whole lot of nuttin’ going on today at irk.

Iffn there ever was a night for a Zombie Apocalypse, it was last night, when they got their leader to join them.

We haven’t heard from doggio or flytwerp yet; though I strongly suspect that is just a coinky-dink as a zombies favorite meal renders them safe. :o

My alarm is set for about 4:45 and I roll out of bed around 5:15 a.m. I shower, fix my hair, put on my make-up (not much, just a little), give the dogs fresh water, food and their morning dog biscuit, have a smoke, and arrive at work around 6:30 or so. My hours are 0700-1630, with every other Friday off. I like to get to work early to get settled, get through my email, and have a quick peek at the news before things start for the day.

Alas, I cannot sleep in on weekends. I’m usually out of bed between 5:30 and 6:30 in the morning; no matter what time I go to bed. I just can’t sleep in, and on the few occasions I make it to 7:30 or 8:00 in the morning, I feel like I’ve wasted the day and I’m mildly annoyed the rest of the day. I treasure my morning quiet time with coffee, I guess.

{{{Taters}}} ::tacklehug:: LTNS!

Da cave is somewhat spiffed. Rain is startin’ to come on in. I shall chillax until time to head over to the church house.

Lately it has been between 4:15 and 6:15 depending on the puppeh’s whim. During the school year it is 6am.

I just heard from the neurologist’s office about a last minute cancellation, so I am heading out to do that.

Other than that, I have bills to pay and a lot of things to arrange before my quick trip to CA this week. Next week I’m back to CA with the kids.

Swampy - I’ve sent you a PM about a situation where I’m wondering if your church could maybe help. Don’t know, but maybe. Thanks.

I’m up at 5:30. Feed the dogs, brush teeth, get dressed and then meet a friend with her 2 dogs at 6:00 and we walk the trails, letting the dogs be leash free, run and play. I’m home at 7. Get ready for work: shower, hair, makeup - hopefully I’ve picked out my clothes the night before. Out the door at 7:45. I eat breakfast (muffin and banana) and read the paper when I get to work.
