The Up Too Early MMP

‘Tis rainin’ out and the weather radar shows a mass of red/orange stuff headed this way. I shall assume so much for gettin’ handy stuff done today. Oh well. I’m inside and dry so yay for that.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Closing shift tonight.

Happy Firday!

I got almost no sleep last night. I fell asleep around midnight and woke at 2:30 and have been up all night.

I started to drift back off this morning, but the combination of snow, sleet, wind, and rain beating against the windows woke me up.
The cold weather is back, it is supposed to be in the low 30s all week. It’s snowing now quietly, and supposed to snow again on Thorsday.

I forgot to tell you congrats on new car MetalMouse.

My brain is mush. Lack of sleep will do that to you.

blurf i am so tired of work. I need to take some time off but don’t see when that can happen anytime soon. So here I am at irk. At least tis Firday! TGIF everyone.

If I can find this on a t-shirt, I’m buying a dozen.

Up and relaxing and NOT getting ready for work. Going to forage Butler County in the snow for dinner and then go to a motorcycle club meeting. Other than that just chillin.

Did you see this, Doggio? The town he lives in is Beer Sheva. Isn’t that the sister city to where Bob & Doug McKenzie live?
Yestidy was sunny…& warm. Today is white & the highs for today & tomorrow will about equal yesterday’s high. :smack:
The power outage whacked things in the house. Had issues getting the 'puter to start up again. I know it’s near end-of-days, & I do have some $ for a new one, guess I gotta just bite the bullet & go find one I like (Win 7). Once I [del]got it up[/del] got the 'puter started again, I made sure to back up everything, yet again, to not one, but two external HDDs. Iffn it does take it’s last gasp, I won’t lose any data. I not only don’t trust cloud data backup, I can’t find a reasonably priced one for the amount of data that I have, about 4T with all of the photos & video.

Since it was so warm yestidy, the heater never came on. When I woke up today, it was a bit chilly; looked at the thermostat & it was only 60° inside. Powered everything off & back on, to no avail. Then I saw the note I wrote & taped to the pipe. I think the reset caused it to go kafluey. (Is too a technical term!)
With a HE heater, it won’t turn on iffn it can’t get enough air input, this happens iffn you get just one too many leaves in the system. Lifted up the pipe, cleaned out the 3½ daid leaves, replaced pipe & ::Presto:: it started to warm up a few minutes later.

Morning all. 60F here but due to be dropping all day until it is near freezing come nightfall. Had some thudner-boomers pass through in the late hours, but all clear now.

Thanks for the good wishes on the car. Now just have to make sure I don’t have an accident in the next 6+ weeks until it is time to trade my old one in. And I just got the renewal for the Sirius XM, which expires 27 April. Think I’ll pass.

And now for some sustenance.

Hot water heater is replaced and gate is bein’ reversed as I post. YAY! The rain passed through quick so they got here and got busy. Also, I have da cave windows open but may need to close 'em before too long. A might chilly it is.

**MetalMouse **- we have SiriusXM and if it was my choice, I’d cancel it. Granted, radio reception in our county is sucky - at least for the DC NPR station - but I’m OK with playing CDs. Someone else in the household wanted it…

Lunch time - YAY!!!

For some reason, I feel all stabby!
(Currently it’s 32° outside, there is no visible grass (which means a coupla inches), the sidewalks are now turning white & it’s even beginning to stick on the streets.

Raining here, so far. And still well above freezing. We shall see what the rest of the day brings.

Stoopit weather.

Off to go see doctors and get infused and stuff. Le blurf.

Howdy Y’all! I now have a gate that swings into the back yahd. YAY! They got finished and then I had a nap cause, well, watchin’ folks work is hard!

Friday, 2pm. At irk. YUCK. Going to the grocery sto after irk and will be getting fixings for pimento cheese. Can I buy already shredded cheddar or do I hafta do the grating???

Wetone You will get a creamier product if you grate the cheese yourself. The already grated kind will work just not as good as if you do the grating. IMO

wet one, what butters said. Pregrated cheese has food grade wax sprayed on it so that it doesn’t clump during processing, shipping and storage. That means it doesn’t absorb the mayo and other yummies you fold into it as well.

spidey, I found a desktop replacement when my old one died on CL. A guy in the next town over buys them and laptops from a local university’s gaming design department, refurbishes them, loads them with Windows (He’s partial to 7 as well), Office and a decent game suite and sells them for $75-200 a pop (the laptops are more). For $75, I have more memory and speed than I really need and good sound and graphics cards. You may find something similar on your local CL.

I ducked out after lunch today. Groceries are bought (I got in and out before the place is swamped with folks buying french toast fixins and TP before the possible snow this weekend) and now I’m deciding what sounds good as takeout for supper. The good noodle house is a definite possibility, although Korean BBQ sounds kind of good too.

Home. I stopped on the way to pick up a check at the little store - a whopping $3.42 for a bib. I’d forgotten those were even there.

I may stencil the last of my hemmed towels this weekend, since I don’t expect to go anywhere and goodness knows, I don’t do chores.

As for supper - dunno. I’m munching on some peanuts right now, but I need something more substantial. Don’t feel like cooking and don’t want to venture out. 'Tis a dilemma!

I went to the grocery store a day early to avoid the French Toast Freakout tomorrow afternoon. They’re throwing the s-word around on the weather forecast. And here I thought this was supposed to be a *family *news broadcast!

I’m tired of being tired. I’m tired of waking up in the middle of the night (last night courtesy of a thunderstorm) which is why I’m always tired. :frowning:

And I was planning a great sarcastic post: “Is that Henry David Thoreau, or The Physics of Cheese?”

Thanks a lot, Red!

:dubious:

Dindin has been ingested, the kitchen is clean and chillage ensues. OYKW is preparin’ himself a soak in the tub. I may shower before I go to bed just so’s I won’t have to in the mornin’. I need to be over to the church house by seven-thirty tomorrow for Lap A Leprechaun, a 5K charity run and some kind of “fun walk” as well. Sorry, but neither run or walk goes on my list of fun things. I be a lazy bear! Anywho, I am helpin’ with set up and clean up and am hopin’ to be back at da cave no later than noon. I know a 5K run is not a long run but I don’t know how long it takes to run 5K. Mayhaps Spidey can fill us in on that.
