I don’t actually watch this program, but I know someone who does. One thing that she’s observed is that (in her opinion) Lisa Ling is just as goofy as the person she replaced, Debbie Snuffalupagus, the exception being simply that Barbara seems to like Lisa, and seemed to not like Debbie from the get-go.
Can any “View” fans see anything similar?

And, coming from someone who’s started a number of dud threads myself, I know how you must feel Mjollnir. You patiently put together a thread that has some immediate interest to yourself only to find that no one in this large board that is The Straight Dope cares. I can grok that.
What will inevitably happen Mjollnir, if history is any lesson around here, is that your most popular thread that is viewed by hundreds, and seen by thousands, will be the thread you hate the most. It’s happened to me too.
Anyrate, on to the O.P… I haven’t seen much of that past girl to know her gig. But the most stricking difference between what I remember of her and notice about that Lisa Ling girl now (Outside of being pretty hot) is that she’s chinese.
That’s it.

Off the actual topic of the OP . . . I don’t watch this show, but I happened to catch about 15 minutes while I was showering and getting dressed one day last week, and I saw that moron Joy Behar, in the midst of a bitch-fest about older women getting married, repeat the older-than-dirt and thoroughly-debunked “women over 40 have a better chance of being kidnapped by terrorists” stat as if it had been handed to her by God Himself. And she also said she had “recently read it in Newsweek.”
As they say on Usenet, “Plonk.”
Not a single New Yawkah offered to help me out a little over a year ago. 
I’m just surprised that as many chicks post here, not a single one has anything to offer. Maybe they took offense at my abuse of her name (really, Debbie Matenopoulos, or something like that). That was simply a secret handshake to identify myself as a “Souphead,” 'cuz that’s one of the names that John Henson ascribed to her when he was the host.

I doubt that anyone is offended by your snide humor, I just don’t think we have a lot of “View” watchers on the SDMB. The chicks who post here don’t need Barbra Wah-wah and a bunch of Oprah Winfrey wannabes to provide them with misinformation, horrendous fashion examples, and weak attempts at wit.

My s/o watches this show religiously; in fact it is the last order of business in the morning before he leaves to hit the timer button on the VCR so he can watch it when he gets home later.

i don’t usually get to watch the view, however we are able to tune in abc on the radio. some people in work will have it playing. if you just listen to it the opening 15 minutes is mostly 4 or 5 women all trying to talk at the same time. it makes it really hard to hear what they are saying. one of the few times i was actually able to figure out what they were saying they were speaking of making tampon popsicles!?!?!?!!! who can speak authouritatively about that???
I’ve only seen it one time, for 4 minutes.
They had some organic-type health person on there explaining how to make a suppository out of a potato wedge and a vitamin E capsule.
I haven’t watched it since.
And, as she will state at any opportunity, SHE DOESN’T WEAR PANTIES!!! EVER!!!

I watch “The View” every so often out of a morbid sense of fascination.
