The Walking Dead; 1.06 "TS-19" SEASON FINALE (open spoilers)

I assume this is a whoosh, as this is exactly what happens in the comic books. It goes … poorly.

Another whoosh?

The way the CDC doctor described the decon process, it didnt’ sound like a typical exlposion. Something about the air being ignited, right? If that’s the case, I don’t have a problem with the implosion or any worry about pathogens being released… they’re already toast.

According to the Walking Dead Wiki,
Frank Darabont can’t wait to introduce Michonne and the Governor. It’s also hinted that they’ll make Merle (who didn’t exist in the books) into the Governor which would explain where he’s gone in the show.

Good news for Rick’s group if Michonne is added, very bad news if the Governor shows up. :frowning:
Book spoiler:

It would also give the Governor (if in the show he does turn out to be Merle) more of a reason to cut off Rick’s hand (if they do go that route) as he did in the books.

I think the main problems people are having was due to time. The series was a gamble so they only made 6. With more episodes, the CDC could have been an arc instead of one episode.

stegon66, did you notice that your whole post is a spoiler?

Is it really so hard to resist discussing characters who haven’t appeared in the series?

Not a spoiler:

I like that a lot. I unspoilered this because I think it’s worth reading, especially by those avoiding spoilers.

Nope, I haven’t read the comics. Am I giving something away?

Will there be a repeat of the finale? If so, when? I didn’t get to see it.

They’ve been re-airing episodes on Friday and Sunday nights.

If you have comcast, you can get it on OnDemand.

I’ve heard a rumour they’re re-broadcasting the whole thing in a marathon soon - keep checking, I guess. I’m hoping to catch the first episode.

I’m pretty sure we’ll be hearing from the person(s) Rick was sending messages too, as well - they don’t spend that much time spotlighting a plot point to just drop it, usually.

I agree on the love triangle characters, though - I really don’t care about any of the three. What they need is a Stuart Redman - is Gary Sinise too busy with CSI: NY?

I haven’t read the books.

I’m sure sidereel has relevant megavideo links.

Apparently the finale broke basic cable records on viewership in some key demo’s, so I’m sure we’ll see lots and lots of reruns.

I am a HUGE fan of the books, as stated before, so I am having to kind of unplug almost all of that knowledge for the show. I like the show so far, and LOVED the pilot.

The show is very very different. Not bad, necessarily, but very different.

I just hope this doesn’t mean we’ll get a bandwagon full of half-assed zombie shows from other networks trying to follow a trend.

Nah. Tons of shows set up what seems to be an all-looming, all-great cliffhanger and then toss it all away in the first episode of the next season. I think it’s common enough that people wouldn’t find it strange for the CDC to only last 3 episodes at the start of the next season.

But they didn’t know if they were going to get a second season when they filmed this one. So they had to wrap the story up.

For a while I was thinking that the episode would end during the countdown and the cliffhanger would be wondering if they make it out alive.

Actually, Spoke’s comment makes me realize this was impossible. The season was in the can before the first one aired.

Looks like Charlie Sheen is going to play a zombie in season two…
