The Walking Dead; 3.01 "Seed" (open spoilers)

I’ll make a note of that.

And I’m stealing that one. So horrible. I loved it.

I am honored, Sir.

Even though Night of the Living Dead predates me, when I was a kid, the word Zombie would conjure an image of a fully intact sort of sleep walking robotic type person who follows commands as much as it it would a rotting, shambling corpse. The current concept of Zombies seems much more recent.

I know! My husband said “Shoot that zombie in the back!” And since I’m usually Nick I just yelled “Tits!”
I really like this episode and I have high hopes, but I do recall thinking that the season premiere last season was really great too. I think they spend a lot of money on the first episode and it’s chock full of what we love- zombies! action!- then they have to make a couple less expensive episodes that are full of what we hate- drama! whining! Lori!

Not true. Inverters with auto adapter plugs could be found at any auto store, truck stop, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, etc., and were probably not on the “Top 10 Things To Loot” list when things collapsed.

Hit most any (or just enough) Police Stations, or Fire Departments, and you’ll find all the walkie-talkies that group would need, a base charger, and spare batteries.

And if they’re still finding gasoline, they have electricity.

There are probably a lot of car chargers for phones and various other products lying around in the cars too.

Is there such a thing? I’d like to read that.

The pilot? I’m pretty sure that’s who’s flying the helicopters.

Have they teased us? Has there been a sighting or mention of it since that single episode?

Except now that we know everyone is infected, and the prospect of someone dying in their sleep is real, I suspect nobody sleeps all too soundly!

Haven’t they showed that helicopter from the pilot a few times in the “previously on” intro?

I didn’t see it (or they didn’t show it) - were our gang planning to lock themselves into the cells at night?

Rick saw one in the first or second episode of the first season. There was another shown in the (last?) episode of Season Two – the helicopter flying overhead was what got all the walkers to walk in the same direction and, eventually, create the herd that overran Hershel’s farm.

There was also a helicopter in the preview for the upcoming episode.

Yeah, but I’m not sure that was so much a preview for the next episode as it was for the entire season.

There is a post-apocalyptic series called Survivors that some of you may like. The original series was in the 1970s with a remake in the 2000s. They were both BBC productions and (not surprisingly) set in the UK. Guns were far less prevalent, and those that were available were typically of the double barreled shotgun variety.

Double tap.
