The Walking Dead; 3.05 "Say the Word" (open spoilers)

Not so much as a bone laying around. Apparently their teeth are way stronger than the rest of their skulls.

I assumed that her body was eaten by a group of zombies but that was the only one that hung around.

I’m working on the assumption that killing off Carol, T-Dog and Lori was to make room for the two new guys. It also, IMO, means they’ll be coming into the fold soon as opposed to just being two guys on the other side of the fence all the time.

On Talking Dead the director of this episode……was definitive about that grave being Carol’s but evasive as to whether Carol was dead.

Ellis Dee, I saw that and

I’m confident she’s alive. That’s two producer/director types in two weeks who’ve been evasive about it, and they’re not generally evasive about that stuff. They’re generally like “Oh dead. Totally dead.”

Agreed.

So why was the bloated zombie that had just eaten Lori (or some signifcant part of her) lying down like it was injured? Or is that just the zombie version of “I can’t believe I ate the whole thing, I so hate myself right now” or “If I take another bite I’m going to burst a button.”

I did have a flash that he was going to cut open the stomach and there’d be Lori’s head, whole, still alive and trying to eat its way out.

Also expected them to find a room of infant zombies at the day care center, trapped by one of those doorway safety gates. Thought that killing those would be the last straw on Maggie’s sanity.

Yup, it was just sitting there wondering why no one had turned the game on yet.

Do Zombie’s feel pain? I never thought they did as they take a lickin’ and keep on eatin’. But, it seems Penny felt when her hair was pulled out and not too pleased. Why does she still have her hair anyway? Haven’t seen too many (or any that I remember) with full heads of hair.

I would speculate that she’s been experimented on with the Governor’s lab geek, so she may have some partial human shred in her?

On another note, can someone who knows the comics please spoiler tag the significance of the phone call? I can’t wait another week - I’m dying!!

IIRC After Lori died Carl phone a phone and started to have conversations her over the phone. Maybe the TV writers decided to have Rick be the one to snap & start phoning Lori.

I’m still confused about what happened to Lori’s body. So Carl did shoot her (& apparently the bullet went clean tru her skull), but her entire corpse was devoured by zombies? :dubious: Even T-Dog, whom we actually saw get attacked by a swarm of zombies, had more left of him. Or the Bicycle zombie from the pilot. And they ate her bones too? There’s just to fucking way that one zombie could’ve eaten all of Lori.

I thought Rick was digging around for her wedding band, but I’ve not read that anywhere else.

Digging around in the zombie’s stomach? Because that makes alot more sense than Rick cutting it open just to see his wife’s remains (which of course would be unrecognizable at human, let alone a particular human).

me too.

It has been awhile but in a nutshell - Rick is now very mentally unstable, he has snapped. The phone is not really ringing, only Rick hears it. As for the voice on the other end of the phone… Lori.

I don’t think we’re expected to think that a walker ate all of Lori. Another walker could have dragged pieces off, and somewhere there’s a pile of gnawed bones.

We accept that walkers can easily tear away hunks of healthy flesh. That’s what’s hard to believe. Human teeth aren’t sharp and pointy.

Who opened the prison gate last week?

Well, that plus in the trailer for next week’s episode they showed Daryl finding and commenting on Carol’s knife somewhere else in the prison. It seems safe to me to say that she is still alive. Why did they have the two new guys dig and fill in an empty grave? Hazing?

Not quite…

MeanJoe has it right. It was Rick in the comics who–in his mind at least–talked on the phone with dead Lori.

Same here. Maybe he’ll return with it.

Just finished watching this episode. I was actually kind of glad to see Michonne finally leave the town, as I’m really having a hard time warming up to her character. She just kind of sulks around Woodbury, staring people down and frowning. And whenever Andrea questions her as to why on earth they would leave this refuge, rather than explaining all of the evidence she’s found that something is amiss she just says “We have to go. Things aren’t what they seem.”
Andrea: “Umm, what the fuck are you talking about?”
Michonee: “I won’t tell you. We have to go.”
No wonder Andrea doesn’t see things her way.

I liked Glenn’s little speech about T-Dogg. You mean he was a brave, interesting character who saved your life multiple times? Too bad the writers didn’t think it was worth showing that to us.

I’m still waiting to see what makes the Governor so much worse than Rick…

Yeah, the “just trust me, I know we could just sit here and talk about it for a few minutes but instead I’m going to insist you trust me even though my behavior is irratic” is some Lost bullshit. Find legitimate ways to create drama.
