The Walking Dead; 6.03 "Thank You" (open spoilers)

Hilarious!

Been a while since I’ve had to slide under a dumpster but is there even enough clearance for an adult to fit?

I agree, unless he starts chewing on Nick’s neck, he’s a goner.

Normal, real-life dumpsters, no, but someone on another forum posted screenshots and there is a very convenient 8-10" clearance under this one. And it’s surrounded on three sides by cinder block walls.

Found it.

Maybe he’ll even find some kind of rusted hole or hatch to get up into the dumpster, like Rick’s tank.

In a world where you can’t push start a car, sure!

Here’s an idea: What we saw this week was simply Nicholas’ recollection of what happened. Next week, we see the same sequence, except from Glen’s point of view, and in that version, he doesn’t get pulled down into the herd, but somehow manages to scramble over the fence or onto a rooftop or something. We might have to change the name of the show to The Walking Affair, but hey, whatever works!!

Or a manhole, leading to a sewer escape route.

I hope he is indeed alive.
It seems rather pointless to watch the story knowing that in keeping with the title, everyone will croak.

If they pull off Glenn getting out alive with some plausible writing, I’m willing to say it’s not total shit writing. Just because they used a bit of camera trickery, and everyone’s gut (heh) reaction was “OMG, they’re pulling Glenn apart.” is on the viewer for not recognizing what happened in that scene (i.e. Nicholas falling on top of Glenn; The guts to high and out of place to be Glenn’s own; Glenn’s screams of horror, not agony).

That’s fine for me. A tricky gotchya here and there I can live with. Just make his eventual escape plausible.

Where he will be rescued by four bipedal anthropomorphic Terrapins schooled in martial arts…

Cowabunga, dudes!

I’d say Nicholas’ point of view should have ended with the splatter of blood all over Glenn’s face. There is no way I can buy Glenn getting out of there alive. He didn’t immediately barrel role under the dumpster, so even if those aren’t his guts being torn apart (which I agree they aren’t) he’s completely trapped.

Rick, I don’t know. Maybe he can wait it out in the RV while the herd moves on?

Can we concede that zombie herding was not a great idea?

Maybe three bipedal anthropomorphic Terrapins? Enid “supposedly” ate one of them before she arrived at Alexandria.

No. If anything, all other options would have been far worse.

The truck fell of a cliff. At that point, they no longer have them trapped in the quarry and Alexandria will be overrun without question if they had planned to somehow kill the zombies in the quarry.

Herding them was the only chance, and it only failed due to either deliberate sabotage or dumb luck, depending on if the Wolves were monitoring the herd.

I’d like to agree with you, but did you see how perfectly the horde was following the road behind Abe and Sasha? Sheesh, give those bastards instruments and you’d have a hell of a marching band.

My guess, which will totally be proven wrong next week, is that Rick will scramble onto the top of the RV, and Darryl & Co. will come to his rescue now that they’re done with the main drag.

I try to avoid spoilers. Fortunately, I never see TV show discussions on my Facebook feed. I thought it was safe.

Then I saw a post that said OMG THE WALKING DEAD OMG. Best not to read anything else. Only in the comments was the spoiler in CAPITAL LETTERS. Even when you’re trying not to read something, the single word in all-caps draws the eye right to it.

So I’ll have to vote ‘Meh.’ Nowhere near as good as last week’s episode, and I wasn’t even shocked at the end.

Are they done? I thought they still had about 15 miles to go?

Can we at least concede that the herders should have been wearing zombie guts?

And what exactly is the deal with Rick’s hand? Was it bitten?

  1. The herding took place earlier (a day?) than expected. It was an impromptu case of “run what ya brung”.

  2. I believe the herders were supposed to attract the walkers. Would walker guts be part of that plan?

It appeared to me that Rick injured Rick’s hand. Either with his pocket knife or the butcher knife that had been stuck thru the walker’s shoulder.

No, the idea was for the horde to follow them away from Alexandria. They *wanted *the walkers to be after them. Blending in so that the walkers don’t notice and follow them would kinda defeat the whole purpose, you know?
