The Walking Dead; 6.12 "Not Tomorrow Yet" (open spoilers)

I’m hoping it’s a cage for Jesus to dance in.

Also, Rick’s group will trade for whatever they want, not demand it as tribute.

I’m surprised that there’s only two sides presenting anything about the raid, Rick’s we go in now, and Mogan’s we shouldn’t kill. Did no one ask how they knew for sure the Hilltop people weren’t lying about the other group? Did no one ask about scouting it out first for a day or two to see how many people there might be?

Overall I liked the episode, just wonder why no one asks the questions. Nice to see Gabriel ‘man up’ too.

I had the same thoughts. You’d think by now that someone would have enough brains to ask these questions.

The fight scenes and infiltration were great.

That was harsh, even for Abraham, and it’s no “dolphin smooth”.

Confirm? Daryl, Sasha, and Abraham can confirm Neegan’s methodology as they had an earlier run in with the group. Furthermore, why would a Hilltop member attempt to assassinate the Hilltop leader unless compelled by some reason?

Morgan at this point is flat out insane.

Yeah the talky biker said “Everything you own now belongs to Negan.” Those bikers were clearly bad guys and they identified themselves as Negan’s people.

Also, Negan has only one E. Cite: comics.

How do we know the Hilltop leader is telling the truth at all? There’s been one run in with Neegan’s group, but almost every group has said to one another at one point said give me your stuff. It’s possible that the two groups DID have a trade agreement and Hilltop said screw it we’re not doing it any more and then Neegan’s group kidnapped someone. Maybe they never would have done that have Hilltop kept to their agreement.

Even so, who goes on a kill em all type raid without looking to see what’s there? It’s crazy to just watch for a couple of hours then go in at 3am. I’m mostly on Rick’s side here, but a straight up attack is really asking for trouble, and it looks like they found it.

He’ll escape it in 3 days.

One of the actors playing the sentries who received “Gregory’s” head is an acquaintance of mine. The last time I saw him, we were doing no-budget Shakespeare together, and now he’s getting killed on one of the most popular shows on TV. I’m so proud of him!

I’ll just step back out of the Lightning Bolt blast radius…:dubious:

Because Negan’s henchmen straight up told Daryl’s group that their MO was to kill one as an introduction. This is corroborated by the Hilltop group. Whereas Jesus had the jump on Rick and Daryl and could have killed them both. The evidence is quite compelling that Negan’s group is best dealt with violently and when one has initiative.

I can’t believe you didn’t spoiler box that.

Again, Rick the Brilliant Tactician’s brilliant plan is to go sneaking around a concrete bunker with only minimal intel and hope for the best.

It’s a bunker with one exit (well, 2 including where the secret motorcycle guy came out of). What would have been wrong with lighting a drum full of diesel on fire inside the building, fill the place up with smoke and then shoot anyone who came out?

Also, why pair up Glen and the other FNG who never killed anyone?

And maybe if Maggie and Carol spent less time bickering like a couple of school girls and being absolutely useless on “perimeter”, they wouldn’t have got themselves captured.

I like that Gabriel is now a mean motherfuckin’ servant of God

Isn’t “make them come to you”/choose the battlefield generally accepted as a good rule in battle?

My thoughts:

Morgan: I think he’s building a cell. Like a real jail cell. Like the one the cheesemaker held him in? So a jail where you don’t have to do frontier-style justice. I feel he’s hoping THAT can be his contribution. “I don’t want to kill, but maybe, given some time…people can be ok.”

Rosita: I SOOOOOO thought that Abraham would die by friendly fire (Rosita) in this ep. No one does ballistics in the Zombpocalypse.

Gabriel: Had a very Jules moment.

One thing I did think, when Ethan (?) and Glenn were ran down the hall and ended up shooting thru the door, I thought “shooting blindly thru a door is not a good idea in a place you don’t know”. I really expected to see one of our gang accidentally shot outside it.

Well, they DID choose the battlefield. (Our gang.) Walls don’t hold forever and they are low on food.

They knew the hilltop people weren’t lying because they had run into the saviors before and they did the exact same “we are going to kill one of you and take everything you have” thing to them. Well, tried to.

For sure.

How many did Daryl kill with the rocket launcher at the start of the season? Nine?

I counted 21 of Negan’s able-bodied men killed this episode.

This sounds like a rhetorical question, but of course there’s a literal answer: The Governor does that. We even saw him give the same “Kill them all” speech beforehand, just like Rick.

The difference is that the Governor brought a friggin’ tank and still just about all of his people were killed or turned traitor. By contrast, Rick’s group came away with only a single scratch for Abraham.

Oh yeah, and of course the stupid women couldn’t even just stand still without fucking things up. What’s up with that? Bad writing, lazy writing, or stupid writing?

It is not like she is trundling her tummy around in a wheel barrow. The problem is exactly what happened, someone will be overly concerned about her and screw up.

They will “drop their weapons” next week. That is immensely stupid. Having just killed a bunch of the bad guys, they cannot expect mercy. Who is on the radio? Where is she? If they do have prisoners, they are close. Either fall back to the building or run to the cars and get the hell out.
