I’m 26 minutes in. Negan has come back and his minions, Dwight and the other goober, are rolling over on their backs like puppies confronted with a pit bull. Why they don’t jump Negan and put an end to his shittery, I can’t get with, except of course that would be way too easy, and…there is more show to come, since he is back.
The finale is shaping up to be great. I knew that map shit was fake.
Once again, the writers forget what they wrote for characters before. Darryl has been a fantastic tracker since Day One, and now plot service requires him to suddenly not be able to track a putz like Eugene. Sigh.
This felt a little like an episode from an alternate Universe where we had been following the Saviors for 8 Seasons. I liked it.
Eugene puking like an Octopus throws ink was hilarious. Seems like he is all in on the Saviors now.
I am so glad Simon is dead, he was just obnoxious. I was disappointed in Darryl and Rosita losing Eugene, too. It was a bit too pat. Dwight will probably die next week.
Yay, then we get to see Fear the walking dead next week.
Did anyone else think Eugene made a good point? they only captured him because Rosita acted like a complete moron, and then holy balls they actually treated him well and realized how important someone with brains is for the future.
No they didn’t treat Eugene well. Any time you are dealing with Negan, there are two things on the table. One what he asks/tells you to do, and two the implied being beaten to death with a bat / face fried with an iron / taking the arm off a loved one with a hatchet.
Eugene is an idiot.
So are all those armed guys fully engaged in a revolt against Negan for not just popping a cap in him when he comes around the dumpster, armed as usual with just a bat. It is so much easier to suspend disbelief about the dead walking around, than Negan holding meetings and threatening a bunch of people with a baseball bat who 1) hate him, and 2) are wearing Savior work attire which always includes a gun. I can’t believe we’ve had to suffer this Negan character for two whole seasons. What is Negan supposed to be the Dracula of TWD universe, holding everyone spellbound with his inane ramblings?
Yeah Negan can say all he wants about people are a resource and other High Minded stuff but at the end of the day the Saviors are thugs and bullies who steal from others so they don’t have to do the work themselves.
Yeah, this irritates me, as well. It would only take a second to blow Negan’s damn brains and /or guts out.
That is why I don’t understand the “kill everyone at Hilltop” plan. Who is going to actually do the work?
The plan is to find new slaves because this ones can’t be trusted to behave anymore.
Well, Morgan don’t die. Or so he says. Send him in. There’s no reason they couldn’t sniper Negan dead. Hell, Carol could do it. They have had plenty of chances. The writers are obviously milking this story arc.
To some extent, despite whacking Carl, they are following the comics.
It occurred to me today that they may have decided that the gravy train is about to run dry, and they are planning to end the series.
I was thinking they killed off Carl to allow the possibility of a time jump in the story. It would be hard to do that with him in the cast.
Does the show have the guts to kill off Negan next week? I mean kill, not just defeat.

I hope they do a time jump next season. They said on Talking Dead that the last 2 years have only covered about a month or so. I’m so done with it. Please, please end this and move on to something totally different.
I didn’t watch Fear this year. So have they moved ahead far enough in time for it to make sense for Morgan to join them?
No, not that I can tell.
I think it’s even worse than that. The writers don’t seem to know what to do with Norman Reedus anymore. He went from being one of the most interesting characters to a 5th rate background player. Bleah. I’d be OK with them keeping Negan around if someone would just cut off his tongue the next time he sticks it out of the side of his mouth. The scene with him sitting there “polishing his bat” was too difficult to watch. And the bit with Aaron collapsing every time he stabbed a Walker was borderline slapstick. If they don’t pull a rabbit out of a hat next week in the finale, I’ll be tempted to just give up. This was such a good show back when it started and now it’s just spinning its wheels.
Come on, writers. Up your goddam game!!
