Eugene has gone completely over to the dark side. At least until a better opportunity comes along . The next BBD (Bigger, Better, Deal), so to speak. Rosita and her group want to put Eugene in a dark hole and only bring him out for special occasions. OTOH, Eugene’s knowledge is proving to be much too valuable to allow him to work for the Saviors.
Daryl’s storyline seems to have gotten much smaller since Norman Reedus began his own motorcycle travelogue, and he’s opened his own resturant. But how does a Eugene-type character hide his tracks from a Daryl-type character when he only has a one minute headstart? 'Taint possible.
Dwight did manage to arrange the deaths of another dozen or more Saviors, including Simon. Why Dwight hasn’t simply killed Negan is still a mystery only the writers understand.
Negan has once again proven to be a consumate liar. Negan will say whatever he feels he needs to say in order achieve his goals. The ultimate conman. I even have serious doubts about Negan’s wife/bat story.
Has he? I thought there might have been something about his re-enlisting Gabriel (who he knows has been trying to sabotage the ammunition) after being told that Rick et al. are about to walk into a trap that hints at something else. Then again, we just saw him escape by vomiting on his captors to get back to his earlier captors, so who knows.
Anyway, there’s gotta be some way for Rick’s group to get out of the trap, right? We’re not just gonna see them barely scrape back to the Hilltop, effectively besieged by the Saviors, whose control then is stronger than ever? Because if Negan can just keep magicking up plans that basically entail him correctly guessing what several different people of questionable loyalty are going to do and getting away with it, I’m not sure that’ll hold much interest for me.
Yep, I see Eugene and Gabriel warning the Hilltop and sabotaging the bullets leading to spears and arrows being used in an all-out fight to the finish. Nah, that would be too easy.
I wonder if the writers can get rehired at Fear?
Wow, no i saw the Eugene stuff completely the opposite way. He is even more firmly in Negans camp now, he put Gabriel back into the line under threat of death knowing Gabriel is still afraid of dying.
My take on Eugene is that he is intelligent enough to realize that Negan’s respect for him extends only as far as his ability to be useful.
I think he’s also legitimately torn between his friends in Alexandria/Hilltop and not being killed by the ill-conceived plans started by his dummy friends.
Unless the writers just plan to wipe out the Saviors and start season nine with a clean slate, I suspect that Eugene and Gabrielle will sabotage the bullets (i.e. “follow my instructions exactly”). That will disrupt the ambush. There will be some shit-talk with Dwight. Rick and Negan will compare penises. Some fighting and then bam. Hilltop wins, Negan ends up more or less like he did in the comic.
He WAS legitimately torn between his friends and his life with the saviors, that’s why he helped Gabriel and the doctor escape. What Rosita and Daryl did and what they told him they would do to him pushed him entirely to the Negan camp, I don’t see how he would possibly help them now. Dude was straight up pissed, there is no way he got back home thinking “I’m going to help those guys”.
We’ve been seeing the oceanside women for some reason, so I think they will show up and turn the tide against Negan just as it looks like he will win again. But please, please don’t be a cliffhanger!
Daryl can’t be gay. Jesus is gay. Aaron is gay.
They have enough gay cuties. Daryl maybe has secret gay feelings, but being a redneck he would never admit it. If they are being real. Of course they aren’t, zombies ain’t real.
What am I thinking? Yea, I can see a gay Daryl.
