The Walking Dead; 8.16 "Wrath" (open spoilers)

He machined them, because in TWD universe you need a machine shop to reload cartridges. :expressionless:

I don’t know what explodes in a primer, but I sure as hell wouldn’t let Gabriel within a mile of it in any amount, let alone the pounds of it that must have been present to do all those reloads. Am I correct that reloaders buy the primers as a completed piece and just put them into the cartridge?

Grading on a curve, this was almost an OK episode, although the fake killing of Negan was just stupid. Especially since the only reason Rick didn’t kill him was because of Carls stupid teenage letter, but I’m sure Carl didn’t mean to have Rick put in prison for life. The battle scenes were about as atrocious as any so far. I’ll just say that I’m glad they are sending Morgan over to Fear so I can not watch him on that show.

Maybe he found a bunch of them that people didn’t scavenge because they didn’t have, or know how to use, reloading dies.

The primer caps themselves can easily be made. Get some copper sheet, drill a hole in a block of steel. Use a punch to make the cup. I’m sure the anvil would be pretty easy too. The explosive could be mercury(II) fulminate, which is non-corrosve but will break down after a while…

… or potassium chlorate or potassium perchlorate.

He ran, so he said.

I haven’t watched Fear The Walking Dead yet, nor The Talking Dead. So… in FTWD, that all takes place before Morgan came to Georgia, right?

Fear has skipped forward in time so it’s now taking place after the events of this episode of TWD.

No, it starts right after the season finale of TWD.

Yea, Morgan is meeting them right after he left the junk yard. He had time to grow an eggplant while there. And he walked (ran) many miles and seasons were passing so several months at least. Who really knows though, presumably the writers have a handle on it.

Eugene turns out to be the hero. Who woulda thunk it after he had just escaped from Daryl and Rosita? Josh McDermitt, what an actor!

It appears that Maggie, Jesus, and Daryl are plotting to kill Negan. And maybe anyone who stands in their way.

Negan gets to spend his natural lifetime, or until Maggie kills him, in Morgan’s homemade cell in Alexandria.

Jadis/Anne gets to join the remaining Saviors, Oceansiders, Alexandrians, the Kingdom’s survivors, along with anyone else who happens to wander by. I expect to see majestic bronze Ricks popping up in every town.

Morgan lives in the junkyard long enough to raise eggplants, and then heads West. How long does it take for him to reach Austin, Tx? (I’m told this is the area where FTWD is actually being filmed now.)

I’m obviously mis-remembering something - didn’t Rick show up with a bullet in his side at one point this season? Was that ever explained?

That happened last night, he got injured in the fighting I guess but they didn’t show it. He was obviously hurt during the confrontation with Negan though, that’s why Negan was so confident.

I don’t think it was a bullet. Negan kicked him a couple of times. At the beginning of this season they showed Rick sitting under the tree, bleeding from his side. But that was that weird time jump they kept showing. Now we’re all caught up. The last time he got shot Jadis did it when she double crossed him with Negan.
Something I don’t understand, when they were walking in the field and they looked out over the field and Rick said “things are changing”. What were they looking at?

But FTWD takes place at least two years before TWD. So are they going to skip over everything in FTWD and fast-forward two (or more) years?

So it would seem.

I missed that, but it was referenced on the Talking Dead. Please bring me up to speed.

Hentor said everything.

It was hard to tell, but I’m pretty sure they were looking at a bazillion walkers off in the distance.

Yeah, something about the largest herd ever, but I couldn’t see shit either.

How is Negan *not *dead? The amount of blood gushing through his throat did not look like an indication that he would survive. And how did everyone know, instantly, that the wound was not fatal? It seemed to be obvious to everyone there that Negan lives.

What is up with the two stained glass frames hanging from the tree? I know we saw them in a foreshadowing, but who put them there, and why?

How did Rick get the piece of glass out of one of them?

mmm
