So excited!
CanNOT wait. Squeee!
(is it odd to squee over zombies?)
I read the comic series during this last break and man oh man I’m excited to see how the last half of the season resolves… I was worried that reading the comics would spoil the show but instead it’s heightening the anticipation.
The clip is great. I love how the farm people are hating on Rick and Shane like it’s their fault their own mother just tried to eat them.
Can someone spoil those first three minutes for me? I can’t wait until tomorrow, and I’m typing this at the library because my own computer started having issues.
Just an itty, bitty synopsis?
SPOILER>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
ok, from memory. The scene picks up with Rick just having put Sophia down. He looks like he is in shock. Her mother is wailing in a way that will break your heart. One of the farm girls runs over to the bodies and gets to her mother. Only … mom is still functioning. She grabs the girl and it’s a joint effort from our group to stop mom from eating the girl. Finally, the blonde lady (the one whose sister died) rams a scithe (sp) through her skull. Mom is down now. The group and the farmer family head towards the farmhouse and they argue about who knew Sophia was in the barn while they risked their lives looking for her. Herschel figures the guy that was with Shane put her in there but died before he could say anything. Or maybe she just wandered in there. He orders everyone off his property and says he means it.
Thank you! I can’t wait until tomorrow night!
Well, that only happened because Shane let the Walkers out, so it kinda is their fault. Rick is the leader, and he’s responsible for the actions of his group.
Yep, I saw that my DVR has it scheduled. Am eagerly awaiting this episode, and hoping they continue the great writing from the last episode.
The walkers in the barn were an accident waiting to happen. No good would have ever come of it. But, Herschel’s land, Herschel’s decision even if it is the wrong one. He is well within his rights to order them to leave, but I don’t think that is in his best interests. The group knows how to defend themselves and the farm people need that. They also need a community to continue. I think Shane did the right thing by making it clear that the walkers aren’t on the same danger level as newborn kittens, and Rick reinforced it by putting Sophia down. Letting them out wasn’t his decision to make, but it needed to be done. Reality hadn’t set in all the way with the farm family.
I really don’t want to get into a debate about this, but you can’t deny that it was Rick and Shane’s “fault” that Mommy Dearest got whacked…
…and finished off with a sickle through the noggin, which was great!
I could, in that it was the farm people’s fault for not killing the zombies and instead trying to keep them around as pets.
EDIT: It seems to have shifted. The first post said the farm people seemed to blame Rick & Shane that mommie dearest tried to eat the farm people, but your rebuttal is saying that the farm people seem to blame Rick & Shane for mommie dearest getting whacked. Two different things. The first is farm people’s fault because they foolishly kept zombies around as pets. The second is nobody’s fault, least of all Shane & Rick; mommie dearest died when she became a zombie.
It’d be like blaming your mother’s death on some random guy who happened to run over her headstone.
I’m not debating, just expressing my opinion. It’s a freaking fictional tv show, not a documentary, lol.
Salon article here about the show. It’s an interview with Kirkman, in which he addresses fan criticism regarding the pacing of Season 2, and talks about some of the thinking behind the show’s progression.
