With the recent death of Pat Ast, I was thinking of who was still alive from Andy Warhol’s circle of friends, hangers-on and superstars. Off the top of my head I can think of just three: Joe Dallasandro; Holly Woodlawn; Lou Reed. Anyone else?
Cajun Man
A not ungifted painter herself, Mary Woronov is still still contibuting to what is by and large an uninteresting gallery scene in LA. Bob Colacello may still be listing Interview Magazine on his resume, or may now wish to bury it, much like Jeff Greenfield regards his own tenure at the National Lampoon.
beat me to it
For some strange reason, Paul Morrissey continues to cling to life.
Is Valerie Solonas still alive?
Damn you people are quick on the draw. I was going to suggest Cajun Man too. Special hugs to yuh, TCM.
HUGS!

Valerie Solanas is dead.
Madonna.
Gerard Malanga (described as third worst poet in the world by Richard Meltzer) is still around - he had a book of his photographs published a couple of years ago, including the infamous Iggy Pop nude sequence.
John Cale’s in Melbourne at the moment, although I can’t afford to see him, so that’s a bit annoying.
And can I ask who Cajun Man is?
Does Patti D’Arbanville count?
I think Taylor Mead still walks the earth.
I know Lou Reed’s been mentioned, but there are two other Velvet Underground members still around, too (although Sterling Morrison, alas, is no longer with us)
Hey, on a vaguely related note, I heard that the Warhol estate recently located Valerie Solanas’ script, the script she accused Andy of stealing, the reason she shot him. It was in a box of lighting and photo equipment that hadn’t been opened for decades, probably untouched since Andy tossed the script in that box.
Sylvia Miles
