The Warrior Diet

“They all died young and had a host of diseases, but you should pattern your diet on a minor and mostly unknown aspect of their lives!”

 (Imagine that’s the old, more expressive rolleyes smiley)

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
You know, I’ve always been slightly amazed that there are enough gullible people out there to keep spammers and obvious scammers in business. I guess I now understand the system better.

I think the Greeks and Romans were also into buggery. Will the bodybuilders all take that up as well?

(BTW, this is another word to add to the “words to ban” thread. “Warrior”. You’re not a warrior, you’re a dudebro reading about “toxins” who thinks he’s hardcore. )

You know what works? Eating little to no crap, and taking exercise on a regular basis.

(my bold)

This “warrior diet” is the antithesis of a “bodybuilders diet”. For starters, the bolded section is complete and utter baloney, total woo. Second, eating every few hours is the cornerstone of every single bodybuilding/competition diet. Limiting oneself to only one large meal a day goes totally against every single principal advocated in bodybuilding. Fasting does not belong in the diet of a bodybuilder. The goal of a bodybuilder is to lose as much fat as possible while retaining as much muscle mass as possible. Not simply to lose weight.

Hence the term bodyBUILDER rather than bodyMAKEITSMALLER

Dude, the Trojans lost.

Always remember: Pillage first, THEN burn.

This. Is. Sparta.

“Eating every few hours wreaks havoc on your digestive system and never allows it a chance to rest”

Well it isn’t for the Warrior Diet, the Renegade Diet and the Leangains diet! Look at their websites and sites mentioning them and a lot of body builders are involved.
There’s also the author of “Eat Stop Eat”

“I also had an unprecedented access to world of professional Body Building…I’ve had meetings with Mr. Olympia champions, dinner with Arnold Schwarzenegger and workouts with 400 pound strong men…I know the difference between the truth and bodybuilder myth…[including] “Eat six meals per day””

“every single bodybuilding/competition diet”?

A lot of people in this body building thread use IF (intermittent fasting)
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=146007103

Yes that’s what the Renegade and Leangains diets are about - fat loss and muscle gain.

Ambivalid:
Maybe pro body builders eat very regularly but there are a lot of people who are amateurs that are on IF diets.

Apparently the liver removes toxins… even with healthy food it has some work to do… apparently water fasting can give it a bit of a rest. (that’s what the Renegade Diet ebook is saying)

Dude, you’re arguing with a professional bodybuilder. You might want to dial down the rhetoric.

So who is the professional bodybuilder? Even if they are, just because they eat very regularly it doesn’t mean many other body builders don’t do IF.

I’ve spent a bit of time today reading up on IF and it seems to me that it’s a relatively new, “faddish” diet structure that some athletes do find success with. However, as it relates to bodybuilding, I remain convinced that this is not a viable alternative to regular feedings. All the bodybuilders who seem to have tried this all seem to be just starting out or relatively new to the sport itself. There are NO long competing, experienced bodybuilders using this approach; professional or amateur. It’s just not a way to retain optimal muscle mass.

^^

BTW these diets aren’t just about IF - they also involve a lot of other things…

http://www.warriordiet.com/success-stories.php
“…I have used the diet principles of the warrior diet for the last 6 years. In that time I have won 3 new zealand national athletic bodybuilding titles and placed second in the nabba wff Southern Hemisphere bodybuilding champs…”

That one example disproves your statement. Though he isn’t as big as some body builders are…

These diets (except maybe leangains?) have ebooks/books that go into a lot of further details… it isn’t purely about fasting and overeating…

Sorry, you’re right. There is one. One experienced bodybuilder who claims success with this plan (who also happened to appear in an ad for the diet plan itself). Anyway, whatever. You’re not a bodybuilder anyway, you don’t even exercise. Such a diet plan would work just fine for you.

From the Renegade Diet ebook:

“Detox your liver. All estrogenic compounds must pass through the liver. If yours is stressed from an unhealthy diet and too much booze you will never be able to rid your system of excess estrogen. That means you will never be able to lose the spare tire or the man boobs.”

“Unless you do something to consciously lower it [cortisol] you will never lose the spare tire and get lean”

“Getting lean with poorly functioning adrenal grands will also be next to impossible”

“Unfortunately most people have horribly bad insulin sensitivity so even as much as a small sweet potato can sometimes seemingly lead to fat gain for them”

Woo Alert!! Woo Alert!!: “Detox”
