The weather forecast MMP

Happy Thorsday!

I’m glad some others posted what day it is because I haz a big BLURF today.

Got up early and saw my friend called and I called her back because of all the shit she is going through right now.

It’s a cold cloudy 27 degrees and that is the best it’s going to get. Maybe some snow, who knows, the weathermen lie.

I now look like a more-or-less respectable adult, so I’m off to get groceries. It looks blustery out there. I am not impressed. Stoopit winter.

It’s wet and bitterly cold by Texas standards (got into the 20s F last night) but they’re forecasting temps in the high 70s this weekend … two days away. :dubious:

Dammit, I already wanted a donut even before I sat down at work to [del]get shit done[/del] open this thread.

It was ONE degree above zero when I left for irk. Of course the sun is shining so you’re faked into thinking it might be in the double digits.

Had my first session with a personal trainer last night. My hammies are a bit sore. I’ll feel the full brunt of the upper body irk tomorrow. I’ve decided that at the ripe of older of 57, I want to push my body. Nothing extreme, just more than the 15 minutes of exercise I do 3 times a week.

Howdy Y’all! Takin’ a little break to come up for air. It’s a sea of paperirk here in the orifice. It’s all good though cause that means people are gettin’ started which makes da bear happy. I’ve even had two more approvals come through this mornin’.

BBBobbio why would you want to tell me about a way to make a mess out of perfectly good truffle oil and parmesan? :stuck_out_tongue:

Ok, back to irk.

Snowing? In February? Whodda thunkit?

purplehorseshoe I sent you some mail today. Maybe I should’ve included one of my doughnuts. :stuck_out_tongue:

I must continue work on editing my music arrangements. I plan to sell them as soon as possible.

Blurf.

Busy day yesterday; went to a HUGE trade fair in Birmingham (I didn’t bring a burkha) with the parents, to help pick new lines for the zoo gift shop. I had terribly sore feet by the end of the day, but hopefully we found some good stuff. Walked home from town when I got back, to save on bus fair, and got accosted by a guy asking for ‘change for the bus’ part way… Yeah… Sure… :roll eyes:

Had another day horsey leafleting today, but I only did a few hours, the probably did myself out of a day’s irk. I’m prioritizing libraries as places to put the leaflets (as they’re pushing a new edumacational course), but libraries often have weird opening hours, and shut random days, so despite trying to do to several, I’ve only managed a few. I asked a lady at one I got open today if they’d normally display leaflets (of acceptable kinds- it’s only charities that don’t charge for entry) shoved through the letterbox or posted, and she replied “Yes, we would, but it’d probably be better to just give the central library a box of them, and they’d deliver them to all the local branches when they bring the book van round”.

I was supposed to be delivering the last box-and-a-half tomorrow, but I thought I’d better go and tell the centre about this, rather than them paying me to hand them out to cafés and pubs and other marginal locations. Means I get less money, but they’re a nice place, dammit.

I do have a few hours irk tonight, standing around probably bring shouted at by people, for not doing something the laws of physics do not permit, in the freezing cold. It’s either wimmin’s football or basketball- I know the venue, not which sport, but it’s normally a rotten shift there either way. Oh well, it’s irk.

Back from grocerying - doggone, it’s windy out there!! I had to be careful opening the truck door lest it be wrenched away and damage the adjacent vehicle. Plus it was COLD!!!

But now that I’m in the warmth of my house and most of the groceries are stowed, I’m good. I’ll cook up a batch of sketty sauce this afternoon, and tomorrow, I’m going to make some stuffed cabbage. Yes, ground beef was on sale.

DNR? :stuck_out_tongue:

Other than that, getting ready to go downstairs and make myself some dinner for lunch.

Another light day with a continuation of the project with engineering. It adds a bit of variety.

I’ve got a big pot of sketty sauce simmering away for the next couple of hours. It should yield at least 4 bags for future meals. The trick will be finding space in the freezer.

I’ll figure it out. Meanwhile, it smells good in here!

MOOOOOOM was it used ground beast? :stuck_out_tongue:

N.O.L. has been et. A little of the chikin alfredo left over from last week. ‘Tis a little heavy but ‘twas good. Ima do salmon patties, smashed N.O.T., English peas, and bizkits for dindin. I got me a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for some southern style comfort food. Plus, 'tis one of OYKW’s fav-o-rite meals, so there’s that.

Ok, back to irk.

I hadn’t used the car in a while, so it wouldn’t start, and my dad and I had to call a car specialist guy to help us start the car. And my dad and I went to a grocery store. I hadn’t driven in a while, but I managed to dodge the snowplows. And get back up our snow-covered driveway which is on a hill. So yay.

Had bagel bites for lunch. Yay!

Nope, it was the good stuff! On sale, so still a good deal, altho a long way from when you could get ground beef for under a buck a pound…

I am so doomed. Remember last week when I said was was about to be working with Vogons? Add to that mix working with puppies and kittens.

Actually, working with puppies and kittens would be cool. I’ll really be working with people who have the smarts and attention span of baby critters, otherwise known as quality assurance…

No, I ***know ***I hate Brussel sprouts.

Howdy from da cave! N.O.T. for smashed N.O.T. are cookin’ up. Peas are ready to be cooked. Salmon patties are made and ready to fry up. Bizkits are settin’ in an iron skillet ready to be baked. I’ll start all that when OYKW gets here which should be any time now. I’s hongry!

gotti could be worse. It could be vogon kittehs and puppehs. Those would be ugly and surly.

Tomorrow I’ll sell my doughnuts at a bake sale. Here’s a picture of some of them. I hope they’ll sell well.
