The well balanced, intelligent Q adherent

Maybe he’s just been in a coma all this time.

Has any explanation been given as to why JFK Jr is a Republican now?

He was always a Republican, and it was his threat to reveal that and implement MAGA policies that prompted the assassination (attempt).

No one since until Trump has been brave enough to try to save America and to return her to her glory.

IMO there’s a third overlooked category here… the Dunning-Krueger victims, just people with highly skilled jobs that happen to require no critical thinking whatsoever. There’s the old saying "a fool uses statistics like a drunk uses a lamp-post, more for support than illumination.

Folks like dentists or engineers or computer programmers are extremely well-positioned to seek and discover information, but often lack the training or temperament to rigorously evaluate it for flaws. They can sling cites with the best of them, can form theories about what those cites mean, but have never really needed to challenge their priorities or prior beliefs. They are smart people with faulty intellectual immune systems, partially because they’re smart people.

There was an article I can’t find right now that talks about this in the context of Islamic fundamentalist terrorism. The west likes to see these guys as sweaty illiterate goatherds, but a startlingly high fraction of them are actually university-educated engineers. They started their education as religious radicals, and found nothing in the engineering discipline incompatible with that, and graduated with some sharp skills to see the world as a broken machine that just needs some forceful, strategic intervention here and there.

So I think that’s where you see people like tax-protesting dentists, vaccine-resisting architects, and Capitol-storming optometrists. They’re smart people with mostly undeveloped intellectual immune systems. I’m sure these same people make up a big chunk of the Q adherents.
