My fun meter is pegged. Time to knit. MWAH!!
If I wanted to organize a PA Dopefest, what forum would I use?
Sounds hauntingly familiar.
Tell OYKW to watch out for flying water heaters!
I’m here on Safari. I can’t get in from Firefox or Chrome. I am bummed. I don’t like Safari.
Watch out for the elephants!
I’m on Firefox, and I’m here.
I, also.
It is intermittent.
Opera here, from my tablet. Firefox on my PC did flag the SDMB, but it was simple to tell it to disregard, and has behaved itself ever since.
RANGERS SEND THE PENGUINS TO THE GOLF COURSE!!!
: waves at Cat Man :
What are you glazing?
Dinner and dishes are done, I finished one project in the studio and resumed another (this one is paying) and have a little time to goof off before bed.
G’night, mumpers.
Took me a second to decipher this secret code. Duhhhhh…hockey.
Summer? I’ll be going to visit Mom to celebrate her 90th birthday at the end of June. She’s still remarkably spry and with-it and lives alone. Cousin is planning the do.
I’m so proud… Nephew has finally made friends where he goes to their house and stuff. He’s been slowly working his way there since October, getting to know kids in band and study hall, and now he’s hanging out with three or four kids doing Minecraft things. Yay! (It’s a small high school and 90% or so of the kids have known each other since kindergarten, so being a new kid is hard.)
Hugs all.
GT
LOL. and good for the Nephew( I know about New Kid Syndrome from personal experience)!
Probably do some location scouting for my cannibalism-themed cooking review video.
'Maybe hit the casino buffet on the trip back.
I’ve always used MPSIMS when I’ve put gatherings together and it mostly seems to work. I do suggest you start with a plan, including place and date, or only a couple of alternatives, or you’ll have a new suggestion from each poster, making planning impossible.
And my own personal preference - not at a restaurant unless it’s only 4 or 5 people. It’s usually difficult for a large group to hang out and converse in such a venue. My favorites from past experience have been picnic in a park, gathering at someone’s house, a day at a museum, with restaurant after, and touring a botanical garden, with restaurant after. Good luck pulling it together! I’ve enjoyed my Doper encounters.
**Red **- yesterday, I was glazing some spoon rests and ash trays that someone asked me to make, plus a couple of pots my sister bought from me. Today, I’m going to work on some pieces I made to sell at the local arts store. With luck, I can get everything done by the end of the month, including a ride in the kiln.
It’s another loverly cool morning. **FCD **and his dad will leave for Durham in about 4 hours, and they won’t be back till after dark. And they should find out what and when the next step will be - in theory, it’ll all be done next week and they’ll head back to FL. We shall see how that goes.
I talked to my mom yesterday - she’s enjoying her new car (Mazda 5) and I’m really glad because it was the first one she saw, and even tho we looked at other vehicles, I think she was sold right away. She’s had it just over a week and she’s put all of 300 miles on it! This from the woman whose 14-y/o vehicle had all of 110K when she traded it in. Mom doesn’t drive far.
As for me, most of today will be spent in my studio, but I do have a couple of house plants to deal with. I’ve been avoiding it because it’s messy, but it’s gotta be done. I’ve also got a whole, cooked chicken that I need to deal with - I’ll be looking at recipes for ideas, tho I may go easy with chickin-n-dumplins. Whatever I do, it’ll be tomorrow’s supper.
Plus I’ve got to drag out the hose and water my grass seed. The promised rain of the last couple of days never happened. And none on tap today, so hose it is. Who knew retirement could be so exhausting??? :smack:
Happy Wednesday!
Oh look, I didn’t get the Angry Red Screen of Malware Detection this time.
My dad’s birthday is next Monday. I was planning on going to see him, but considering I’m already exhausted and I haven’t even started Day Three of this six-day workweek, I think I’ll go visit the week after. I hate my schedule.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, caffienated, and brekkied, so no YAWNS. 'Tis <snerk> 69! <snerk> Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 86. The weather PTB pronounce that rain shall commence around fourish today and continue tonight and tomorrow. Tomorrow’s predicted high is ONLY 70 Amurrkin with rain/tstorms/apocalypse. We shall see.
OYKW is purtifyin’ as I post. He’s gonna go meet Fixit Guy at seven a.m. over at Lowe’s to get the water heater. Fixit Guy called back last night to say he could install it today if OYKW wanted and he wanted, so, yay for that. FG will take out the old one, install the new one, and haul the old one away even. Double yay for that!
In other news, I go to the doc at nine this mornin’. My shingles rash is gone so I predict I’ll be told I’m good to go. This means that I’ll have to put on goin’ out in the public clothes. I’ve been wearin’ tshirts and shorts (not the kind one wears out in public, but not underwear, just loungin’ around da cave shorts) for the past almost six days. I hope my body does not reject the out in public clothin’. I shall also venture to the sto’ whilst out as I needs some foodstuffs.
Yinzer what MOOOOOOM said. MPSIMS is good for that kinda thing.
Rangers beatin’ up on Penguins? doggio what kind of sick stuff are you watchin’!
Ranch sounds yummy!
gt yay for nephew havin’ friends!
I hear OYKW in the bedroom. Guess this means I should commence to purtify. Or not. It ain’t like I couldn’t wait a while.
Happy (especially for Sean) Hump Day Y’all!
Up, caffeinated, off to work. Long day today.
: looks at swampy’s cannibal cookbook, backs slowly away from smoker :
Yay, got my beekeeping proof of membership and insurance through! That’s basically all the council requirements sorted from my end. It’s starting to look like this may actually happen this year! The pointy stick wieldin’ spiders shall be supplemented by bees! Bees with… with… umm… somethin’ threatenin’… letters from their lawyer?
Anyway, I’m all purtyfied up to an unusual degree- ready to head off to the interview; I’d cross my toes, but I need to be perfeshunal and wear shoes (see, them job training courses did do some good! They never mentioned anything about fingers and garbage disposals though).
Oh, and Mooom, if your travel agent really does mess stuff up, I have a tent you can borrow
**Nuts **- I appreciate the offer, but I think we’re good. We’ve got our flight to London, a hotel booked by Heathrow, and transportation to the ship. But if you want to show up at the dock with a Bon Voyage gift of fine chocolates, that would be a lovely gesture.
105 days till we sail. No, I’m not counting, but the website is.
Morning all,
Particularly foggy here this a.m. Was hot sleeping last night. I really feel bad for our cats cooped up in the 80+ stuffy house. They do have an airconditioned room to retreat too but I can tell they are unhappy kittehs. Irk is boring as heck and I have lost my interest in doing things, which is dangerous for me as I tend to goof off and not do anything. Blerg!
