No worries there! Although mine is en route and should arrive sometime tomorrow… not in Massachusetts, though, unless the USPS does something really creative.
My BIL was over last night and totally loved the cards from hell, but even he had trouble shuffling them.
I will display the Browns football, with my head low; we watched that game and lo, did the SeaChickens suck! I can see the football even as I type so that I will always remember how they threw away the lead. Shaun Alexander, now I know why they are booing you at home.
Thanks again for the cool stuff. Mr.stretch thinks I’m Board-crazy already, and really thought I was nuts for coming home every day and asking if my elephant was here. And yet, he wanted to open it with me…maybe he protests just a little too much.
I got a note from FedEx saying they attempted to deliver something. I guess that could be my elephant.
I’m not sure when I’ll have time to go get it.
My white elephant arrived earlier in the week - sorry it took so long to post. Between school and work I’ve not had much time. Here’s what picunurse sent;
ear plugs
foot (not hers, silly rabbit. It’s metal and looks like a gas pedal or something)
stained glass Santa
a small painting
finger seperator
some funky nail polish
a very pretty polished rock
a tea ball
disaster whistle
a VERY funky necklace - looks like something a rapper would proudly wear
small rocks - very pretty
a highlighter that is triangular - 3 colors in it
two books
a button that says ‘I read banned books’
handwipes from the Bellagio
plate hanger
a painted plate
a key ring with Boeing Fire on it
large suction cup
a candlestick holder
two CD’s
Wow, that disaster whistle is LOUD! Our 12 year old had fun with that. He couldn’t stop giggling over the term “white elephant”. I proudly wore the necklace out during errands, much to the horror of my husband.
Thanks! My favorite is the stained glass Santa. Very cool.
I’m glad it got there safely. Please feel free to send any of it along to your WE victim next year.
Good. I am glad they have passed on the curse.
Well I have to admit I felt sort of bad sending it and gloating since we barely won that game, but then again… I don’t feel that bad…hehehe
You are welcome and I had fun collecting stuff to send. Oh and those note pads are post-it type. Perfect fot the side of your fridge
We are still waiting on our elephant, I mean MY elephant. My BF that just met his first computer a year and a half ago does not quite understand but he has a great sense of things and he knows that this pachaderm is something of importance.
Damn the double post…
We have footprints in the butter!
I will post again with pictures. I would now but my borrowed puter does not allow it. (3GB and ME is sad but all I have right now)
The elephant tracking with the sheep return addy has arrived from NJ.
The BF is engaged with the cube. I already think he is beyond help.
More info to follow, we are still digging through the stuff, love the extra notes
Edit: The Bf said " Oh cool, that goes right with your knicky knacky krappy". The man does not understand my neat little stuff.
I sent mine out on Tuesday… I hope it gets to its destination OK.
My elephant came! My elephant came!
It unpacked its trunk to reveal:
- a massive amount of candy, including body parts gummies. The severed ears and severed feet are particularly appealing.
- a mini radio the size of a pedometer, to be clipped on a belt for walking. It works, and the sound is pretty good. I’m listening to it right now.
- 5 postcards of an amply-endowed, purple-clad fairy sitting on a yellow mushroom
- a purple pen
- very purple cap of Mary-Quantish design.
- a little shelf-sitting doll with dangly legs, all dressing entirely in purple.
A remarkable consistency in the purpleishness of it all. From that, I gather that it is safe to say thank you to Purplkid_Caterer! This was fun to open, the shelf-sitting doll is on display, I’m using the radio and the pen already, and I’m going to send some of these cards to muhroom-hunting buddies.
My elephantee still hasn’t posted, and that person should have received the ellie on Wednesday or Thursday…
There was an Elephant patiently waiting on my porch this afternoon.
purple haze is my hero.
Thank you for:
A decision spinner. Every other selection is a nap, Hubby loves it, since napping is his hobby.
Windex dry cloths. How did you know I never clean my windows?
A Burger KING mask. I’ve already frightened all three cats and my husband with it.
A moon and star picture frame.
A marvelous deer skin bag. I haven’t decided what to put in it yet, but I will.
A roll of brand new pennies.
Strawberry bath gel. I’ll try that tonight.
A Lance Armstrong LiveStrong jelly bracelet.
A cool three D Shark bookmark. It’s already in my current book.
A sachet from Coldwater Creek. I love that store!
A Snowman and a snowman coaster. These will be added to Hubby’s collection of Christmas ornaments.
A bag of Chex Mix. I don’t know the flavor because they went away with Hubby when he went to run errands.
These will go to the ocupational therapy unit at the local children’s hospital:
A teal and pink clutch with a gazillion charm bracelet charms.
A wooden puzzle. (I think)
A Madeline break down doll.
Tiny bear and crocodile.
Five tiny highlighters.
I’m glad you liked it. And the fairy is a digital painting of me (of course IRL I don’t have wings). I sent out those postcards for my grand opening at my shop. Yeah, I was figuring on the dangly doll as ‘the’ white elephant.
Oh yeah, almost forgot to mention. I made that hat for myself in one of my craftier moods. Unfortunately, I made it too small for my head.
What do you sell in your shop?
One of the serendipities with all the purple is that two days ago, I did a self-hypnosis session for changing a particular behavior, and chose the color purple as the anchor to reinforce the behavior. Having the purple items will really help.
Oh! Oh! I missed one thing! My favorite thing in the box, a pair of bare feet! They are sock/slippers that look like bears. I missed them before because I was wearing them.
The box came with an elephant stomping on all sides of the box. I am sure the mail lady was wondering “wtf?” The contents contained…
mini rocking chair clock, this is so cute and I plan on getting a battery for it
mini budda, he is currently sitting on the rocking chair
an interesting cat pin, I think I will place this on my bulletin board at work
music related wine charms, these are cute and although I don’t drink wine and have no glasses I will find some neat way to use them
a siver bracelet, this is very pretty
various cat toys, these are already on the floor in various parts of the house
Gillette fuson razor, BF wisked that away
“OR” book, that is really cool and was immediatly “borrowed” by my daughter
baby rubic cube, BF snagged this as well
starlight lamp, this will go great on our deck next spring. We had one that was sort of like that but it broke
Winnie the Pooh latch hook kit, I have not done latch kit in years but I will attempt it
That is a freaky coincidence and he is the coolest thing ever!
A foot tall knight in a suit of armour. He is really neat and my BF wisked it away and it is now sitting a top my curio cabinet.
I assume the armour is the white elephant. He will be displayed with pride. I love that thing.
My BF now understands how cool this trade is and he is already thinking of things that he can put in next years box o’goodies.
I think I owe the big thanks to Hal Briston. You sent some really cool things. Thanks!
I will post pictures tomorrow when I get to work.
Well, I am a caterer. So, really, shop is just the term we use. It’s a commercially licensed kitchen. We mostly do lunches for pharmaceutical sales reps. And also we’re just starting up with some take-out business.
That’s cool about the purple vibe.
I have a matching twin to that bait box. But the bottom of it wasn’t damp when I sent it. That should have added to the ambiance. Remind me to thank your UPS guy – perhaps with a white elephant of his own?
The shoes (brass) are a trinket my dad got from India when he was in the merchant marines in th 60’s. the shoe came off some Chinese doll the got while traveling to China (again with the merchant marines in the 60’s).
The worms? I actually found them in the box when I opened it. How fortuitous, no?
FWIW, my bait box was significantly dirtier when I opened it. But it’s a really good bait box, due to the material, it will keep the lil buggers alive much longer than in a coffee can. Cabela’s used to sell them, they recommend using damp peat as the filler to carry your wormies.
You’re very welcome…Enjoy!
Yep, that’s your elephant. I’m sorry you have to go out of your way to get him. I should have specified no signature required. Sometimes FedEx will re-deliver to another location if you call them up and ask.
I’m glad you had fun opening everything. Sorry it took so long to get to you - I went with Parcel Post because of the weight.
I use my Coldwater Creek sachets in the vacuum cleaner. Just put some of it into the vacuum bag and it makes the whole room smell nice.
All of those charms came from a toy store I used to own. I hope someone will make something pretty from them!
The Chex Mix (peanut lovers) is a family favorite. I hope your husband liked it.
The pennies are for wishing wells and fountains. 50 wishes for you!
I’m glad you liked the bear socks so much! They have been lounging around, waiting for someone to love them. Sorry I didn’t have a matching pair for your husband. I’m sure he’s jealous…
I wear a LiveStrong bracelet most of the time, and had a spare.
cheers,
PurpleHaze
I received it on Saturday, thanks!
Let’s see, I have to remember, because the minions grabbed the loot and left pretty quick.
A really cool Fossil tin manual date clock-retro, and my favorite item. Similar to those old wind up toy tin cars, boats.
A couple of huge paper clips.
Post it notes.
Some Burt’s Bees stuff.
Mardi Gras beads. ( You slut!)
A Dick Francis book-haven’t read him in forever, and I like the little horsies.
A balsa model airplane that flew very well for about 20 flights, then the Great Dane promptly ate it. Damn dog.
A reindeer antenna ball, that is gracing the hillbilly truck as I write.
I think I have forgotten a couple of items, but my damn camera batteries went dead, and by the time I they were recharged, all the items were gone.
Thanks so much, LVgeogeek! I am thinking the Fossil Date clock is my display item?
