::sigh::
FedEx came and dropped a package for my wife; USPS came and dropped off a package for my son and an Ebay purchase pour moi… L’éléphant? Je ne sais quoi. Il est absent. ::sniff:: J’espère qu’il n’est pas peur.
Éléphant, où êtes-vous?

Éléphant, où êtes-vous?
My elephantee should have received the elephant two weeks ago, but hasn’t posted yet. I did a search, and discovered that said elephantee hasn’t posted here since October…
Uh…that should have been “lion head.” I don’t want Dopers to think I sent out something pervy!
Yes, the good luck charm bracelet thingy is Chinese. I seriously doubt it’s jade! I bought it in the Chinatown in Manila many, many years ago. My luck since then has been pretty damned spotty. Maybe it will work better for you.
The wooden mushroom thingy apparently confounded you as much as it did me. It was a visiting dignitary thank you gift, from either Moldova or the Ukraine.
Hee-hee! I didn’t even think about your username when I put the billybob teeth in the box!
I am so-o-o-o-o-o-o glad you liked the Weinermobile whistle!
Did you send them that Zuni Warrior doll?
Oh where, Oh where can my elephant be?
Oh where, Oh where can he beeeeeeee ?
He probably got mangled in the USPS’s Automated Package Processing System
It has the Biggest Gnarliest teeth and has an affinity for Pachyderms
Or maybe he just lost his way, so I’ll remind him how to get here
Go to FairyChatMom’s house and keep heading South, dear
For just 8 more miles and turn left and you’re here
It’s easy to see the butter because the cover is clear
I see that my donee finally received theirs, and I mailed it out the next day!
I can sympathise…according to my elephantee’s profile, they have been a member since early June and have only ever made 1 post on the whole of the board! And that one and only post was back in July!!! I think I’ve been hoodwinked!
A quick update my elephant has been sent on its trip east and should arrive at its destination before Thanksgiving.
OOO!! I live in the east. Maybe it’s for me.
It’s frosty here but no snow yet…c’mon ellie!
But I didn’t start this thread untill October. How did they get in if they didn’t post to this thread?
Could they have just emailed you only?
Possibly,
Sorry I didn’t have time to do a full check of who has and who has not got this weekend.
Anyone besides me wish to take this oppurtunity to send out a second WE, with no chance of getting more crap in return?
Sure, as long as they don’t mind second-tier crap.
Just kidding, I still have plenty of good crap lying around.
Nothing as of yet.
I got mine! Yay! I will post a list of the items later, but they are all well appreciated.
*Zebra, just a thought… What would you think of everyone sending return elephants to our senders? I’d like to return the, er, umm, “favor”. Anyone else interested? I don’t want to hijack, but wanted to see if y’all were interested.
Oh, and if there are those out there who have had their elephants lost, crushed, misplaced… I’d volunteer to send a “gift” out to them, too - that is if we establish a date by which the elephants should have found their new homes.
I’ve got a second houseful of “gifts” to send out, as I recently hauled back to my house my father’s estate of wonderful goodies. I’d love to , er, “redistribute” these wonderful treasures We do still have plently of time to organize this prior to the actual holidays.
Both supervenusfreak’s and mine went out over a week ago, and our elephantees haven’t posted…
I just got mine from supervenusfreak today, and am well thankful for the wait. I will be posting a list of the “gifts” later on. Thank you again, SVF!
Not the Boy!
Have you given him a name? We never did. I’m not sure why.
Heh! Posted right below you and didn’t even see it…
Okay, again, thanks to supervenusfreak, here’s my quick list of items:
Umbrella (going in the wife’s van, thankyouverymuch, she broke hers the other day)
A letterdepot magnetic train peice (will go in my daughter’s stocking for xmas)
A crystal ball pendant on a gold string (my son stole it out of the box)
A burgandy Xmas box, 3"x2"x2" with “merry christmas” glued inside
An empty notepad (again, my son grabbed this out of the box)
Fatal Vision by Joe McGinnis (MINE)
Black Heart by Eric Van Lustbader (MINE)
Lint roller (going in the wifey’s stocking)
Raptor Red by Robert T. Bakker (MINE)
A small US flag (again, grabbed by my son)
Trickster by Muriel Gray (MINE)
Coconut Macadamia bat Salts (eww, those are for the wife)
Bunny pencil sharpener (my son grabbed that , too)
Leather business card holder (I will bring this one to work)
Letric Shave (ultra and 2 regular) (Maybe I can use his to start fires, it is alcohol based, owwie)
A Xmas? ornament? Ruby stone shaped
AqualVelva Ice Baum (another firestarter)
A “please think safety” bag, (looks like an old pencil bag?)
Odor Eater Foot and Sneaker Spray Powder (if you knew my feet, this is well appreciated by my family)
Evidence perfumed shower gel (wifeys!)
Macy Gray CD (will go in car)
Bonney James Cd (ditto)
Remy Shand CD (ditto)
1-800-new-funk CD (ditto)
The Best of Stink CD (ditto)
Carabiner with compass (son stole)
The Book of Bad Virtues by Tony Hendra (MINE)
Tom James lunchbag (my bro can have it)
TV Guide bag (will go in truck for storage)
Gladys Night and the Pips CD (will go in car)
3 cassette tapes (do I have anything anymore that will play these?)
Brylcream (I have no hair, but thanks)
Odor Eaters powder (thanks, my family thanks you)
Two potholders, both handmade (or so they seem)
Odor Eaters foot shoe inserts (TWO!)
A bandaid dispenser with bandaids (thanks, I am highly accident prone)
A Jerry Garcia tie (I collect these, THANKS!)
An indian design purse/bag
A clothespin face thingy with skirt (I’ll secret santa this one off, methinks!)
I swear, SVF must know me. My feet stink horribly no matter what I wear on my feet no matter how often I wash said feet; I love funk/blues, my wife needed an umbrella, my son loves trinkets, I read voraciously, we have five dogs so a lint brush is highly neccessary, and the letctra shave thingys will start fires up at camp.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. It’s more than I could have hoped for, and it was well worth the wait. Merry Elephant!
