Up, caffeinated, off to work.
(((((shoe))))) - wot they said! You should be taking time to look after yourself, you’ve been through so much already. When the time is right, the right guy will show up. Or a cat. Probably a cat. Or two.
'im indoors and I have been talking about hexmas since we are likely to be home alone for a couple of days. We debated going out for dinner on hexmas day but largely can’t decide where we might want to go, haven’t done anything about and can’t be bothered. Thus I will most likely be cooking turkey and all the extras, in between watching zombie films and scarfing cocktails.
We don’t have turkey very often, mostly it’s chicken if I’m roasting anything, but we can have it any time we want to 'cos the turkey fairy said we could. Yay!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, caffienated, purtified even, so no YAWN. ‘Tis 58 Amurrkin out and rainy. This shall be the day’s high temp as the temp is goin’ down to 54 with rain. ICK!
OYKW is finishin’ up purtification as I post. Then we’re goin’ to WH for brekkie. We dine only at the finest of restaurants.
Rockin’ knowin’ there are plenteous poke chops in da freezer is almost as good as knowin’ there’s a plentiful stockpile of tp I say.
BooFae makin’ a feast at home whilst watchin’ zombie flicks and scarfin’ cocktails sounds like the perfect plan!
Spaz I occasionally get a yen to watch me some BB cartoons. Fortunately one can see a lot of them on youtube. Well, I guess I should say the yen is for Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies.
Ok, OYKW is now presentable for the public so we shall head out for the day.
Happy Tuesday Y’all!
Clearly a sign of having an unfucked-up personality. How you doin’?
Temp in the house is still 70°. Outside temp is 61°. Today’s high is to be 57°. Oh how I love Merrylande weather!!
Princess Cruise Lines finally caught up with me. They suddenly realized they didn’t charge me for excursions, etc, from the first part of our cruise in August. Those of you who follow my life in every minute detail might recall that those charges appeared as pending on my credit card, then disappeared without being processed - yet another screwy thing gone wrong on that reservation. I got a semi-accusatory email from their collections person today along with a form to fill out and fax back. I don’t have a fax, but I used a free faxing service on line, scanning the form, and sending it on its way. So there goes my credit card balance again… blech. But it turns out it was a good thing that they took this long - in the last month, we’ve had 2 changes in our CC account - one just an expiration date change, then a complete account change, which included another expiration change. Anyway, they’ve got good info now and I can get on with my life.
I’m not likely to cruise on Princess again, tho. Not after all the crap they put me thru starting back in July…
I just checked the weather forecast for my mom’s - they’re predicting 8-12" of snow on Weds!!! Here, a mere 100 miles to the south, we’re looking at half an inch of rain. If it snows as predicted, we’ll spend Thursday here. Time will tell…
Meanwhile, no plans for today so far. And somewhere in the back of my brain, I’m thinking today might be the birthday of our MMP founder… I know it’s some time around turkey day, but the exact date is no longer in any of my email contact lists. On the other hand, such an auspicious occasion surely deserves a full week of celebration??
In any event, Happy Tuesday!!
Everyone? Everyone except me, that is, because we have Thanksgiving here in Canada in October instead of this week. Though, truth be told, I stuff my belly too much every day anyway.
I made some Christmas cards to send off. Made them yesterday, but I was thinking of sending them maybe tomorrow. I don’t want them getting to their destination way too soon. I figure I’ll be safe sending them tomorrow. They’ll be delayed a day anyway because of the Thursday holiday (I’m sending them to the US.)
Listening to the radio. Hopefully going to a concert tonight.
I et waaaaaaay too much this mornin’ at brekkie. I did not need to scarf down bacon, aigs and a pee-kahn waffle, but I did. So good, but I’s stuffded now.
In other news, I’m at irk so I best get busy. Sigh.
I haz a blurf
Don’t forget me and Nuts - our country doesn’t do Thanksgiving at all because we’re on the other side of the Watery Divide. However, Thanksgiving in the US is right next to my mum’s birthday so you can all be celebrating her 80th with your massive turkey dinners
No the truck never came. So ½ hour ago the 5 of them were back, blowing the leaves up the street to the end, where they currently sit against one curb, *still *not vacuumed up. :smack: I really hope we pay by the service, not by the hour!
Well, is it our fault that you live so damn far north that you get 28 hours of darkness every day this time of year? You had to have yours in October just to be able to see where you were going. So grab you’re passport, head south & kwityurbitchin’! ::sheesh:: :dubious:
Hey, wait a minute…
What, swampy? No ordered of scattered, smothered, covered chunked? They are the very reason for WH’s existence.
Working in the studio today. rosie’s sig to all.
Yes, 28 hours (because of the Canadian exchange rate).
Is there anything at all worse than the feeling of being left out of something that a lot of your friends are doing? :’(
(This isn’t a comment directed at anyone on the SDMB. It’s something going on in my life right now.)
We should have an Apologygiving day, it fits better with the national character
It’s one of those bleary overcast days where it never really gets light today, it’s cold and soggy, and I wanted to stay in bed. I have irk later though (football, hopefully I’ll be inside), so I forced meself to go to a garden centre to get out the house. They had a 10p end of line seed sale. Bad move.
Anyway, I’d better get ready for irk. Don’t wanna. Anyone want to go and pretend to be me?
For most of us the saying would just be: I’m a man, but I can change, If I have to, I guess.
Short week for me, so yay!
Oh, the exchange rate! Of course!
**FCD **wanted breakfast at Cracker Barrel, so we did. Then we went to WalMart because he was down to his last bar of soap, and since we were in the neighborhood…
I pulled butter out of the fridge to soften - I see oatmeal cookies in my future. I also see towels in the washer, then in the dryer - it’s too dreary and damp to hang anything out today.
I did another check - my mom’s area is near the edge of the winter storm warning area and it’s showing maybe 1-3" rather than the 8-12" that apparently applies to the more western part of the warning zone. So we’re probably good to go for Thursday.
Meanwhile, I have a shawl to finish crocheting, then 2 afghans and the shawl need a quick tumble in the washer and dryer before I take them to Mom. That pretty much sums up my day.
In England we practice equality- everyone apologises, all the time! Someone stands on your foot? Say sorry! You have a dead rat in your salad? Call the waiter over, and say sorry before pointing out the problem!
