Howdy Y’all! Home from Evening Prayer over to the church house. Rather, I should say home from Even Song because that’s what we did tonight. Even Song is Evening Prayer that is sung/chanted. Very nice service. I played Acolyte tonight. I’m not real good at that and kinda forget stuff until the last second like light the candles on the Altar. I am St. Pat’s slackest Acolyte.

The cold has moved into my chest and I can barely walk from the house to the car without getting sick. I’m not going anywhere.
I had to take sah-kid to driver’s ed, if you miss a class it’s $25 to make it up. He forgot his notebook and I told him to have the instructor call me if he needs it and I’d run it up to him, he didn’t call but I may run it up at break time. I can’t contact him though because he won’t take his cell phone with him.
He gets homework, do you have any idea how hard it is to help him? I’ve been driving for years but damn if I can remember how far to stop behind a school bus or when to turn on the turn signal.
I don’t remember the damn rules, I just know how to drive and sometimes it’s safer to break the rules.
I don’t know why he’s asking me anyway, that’s what google is for.
I’m a little miffed at my mother for going away, she promised me when I signed him up she’d stay home for the 2 weeks in case I needed her to pick him up or take him. We worked out when she’d be staying home and I signed him up. I modified my work hours to accommodate the schedule but I never know how long a call will last. It can be 2 minutes, it can be 2 hours so even if I am scheduled to log off at 8:45 it doesn’t mean I will be. I called out sick tonight anyway, it hurts to talk, and it would really be nice to not have to go out. I know it’s not her responsibility but I wouldn’t have signed him up for evening classes if I knew she was going to bail.
Not all Reform Jews have tossed the laws of Kashreth to the wind, but many have, myself included. I could never give up cheeseburgers or lobster. And what would Chinese food be without Roast Pork Fried Rice?
Just got back about an hour ago from taking Her Feline Majesty in for her rabies shot so I could renew her city license. She seems to be recovering from the sulks.
Now if that stupid bread dough would rise to bakeable in time to get baked before I have to go fetch DH…
Also gotta dig out and label Nativity sets I’m lending to the display this weekend at church. I’m helping with setup tomorrow. Display runs from Friday through Sunday, with choir performances and live scenes performed by kids scheduled through the weekend.
Good morning! It’s cold here - like 20° colder than this time yesterday. Weird weather. Idiot dog went willingly into her kennel at bedtime, but she was yelping and whining at 2:30. **FCD **hadn’t been feeling well, so I got up to take the dog out, but so did he - anyway, I took her out and she wouldn’t pee and when we went back inside, her daddy took her into bed with him… :rolleyes: Have I mentioned that she’s spoiled?
Today is daughter-come-to-dinner-day and I have no idea what I’m going to make. Maybe we can stop on the way home and I can grab something, since I neglected to defrost anything. Going out isn’t really an option because we get home so exhausted, the thought of going back out again is not appealing in the least. I suppose we could do peanut butter on crackers.
I’m to be trained today on yet another software package - this one for parametric design of cable harnesses. I fear my brain will asplode if I have to learn anything else. :eek:
Slacolyte, I like it! Really I only do it if we don’t have a kidlet available which is more oft than not likely on Wednesday. I don’t vest even. I put the slack in slacolyte!
Rotisserie chikin and store bought N.O.T. sallit just like mom used to make! Daughter will love it! Although my own mom never bought store boughten already prepapred food to feed us. I think she would have been mortified had the neighbors found store boughten already prepared food evidence in the trash. We did get KFC occasionally. We considered it a treat. Yeah, my standards have been pretty low even from cubhood.

Tis yet a nother day in Jynxster Land. Another day of what, remains to be seen. No new news on THAT JACKHOLE. Still in the hospital, charges pending. Many, many charges pending. Possible Federal charges pending, depending on the type of illegal guns he had (oh yeah, he went THERE!). Got to give him credit, if you are going to go to jail, might as well go for: firing an illegal hand gun (not at anyone), resisting arrest (failure to obay the cops when they told him to drop the gun), pointing a gun at an officer(s) (unsure if he attempted to fire but they DID!), child endagerment (5 year old son was in the house when he fired the illegal gun), possing MANY illegal fire arms (quantity and type to be determined). These are just my guess at the types of charges he is facing, but all of them happened. Also unsure if my SIL will be facing any charges as she knew about the guns in the house but did nothing. So far no word of that but it IS a possibility.
And I still haven’t made it to the doc-in-the-box for antibiotics for my ear infection, but I am going in about 5 hrs.
BUT it tis Thursday, and after I visit the doc-in-the-box I shall hopefully be getting sum medicine and going home for da week.
We shall put the final touches on the lights around Casa Jynx and put up the tree and attend a work-related holiday party.

Hi all! I’m venturing into Mumperland for the first time!
First, I’m so happy because after six days of not being able to eat, I saw my doctor, got drugs, and feel much better. I’m eating buttered toast! (I can’t wait till I can eat a burger, but I’m trying to ramp up slowly.)
Second, this is too mundane for an actual MPSIMS post, but have you noticed that your Facebook friends who are in the most screwed up relationships are the ones who constantly post inspirational images like “The biggest mistake I’ve made is letting people stay in my life longer than they deserved,” or “Never waste time trying to explain yourself to people who are committed to misunderstanding you.”
I’ve read so many of these now, while watching the posters still engage with their toxic relations, that I just think, “If you would just actually DO the things in your little messages, you wouldn’t feel the need to keep posting stuff about the asshats because they wouldn’t be in your life.” It makes me feel both sad and frustrated for these folks.
I believe this is a tighter group than the SDMB at large. I do wonder why some people, often very new users, post about personal problems. I do not include the MMP, but it often seems that they are looking for verification of whether or not to roll up the toothpaste tube, or keep the toilet seat up.
