Additional comment on security - unlike most businesses, hospitals have sick people, and therefore sick people’s families, everywhere. It would be almost impossible to keep track of who’s who and restrict people to certain spots. Plus a lot of hospital staff - including me - rarely wear their ID, because they work in one spot, all the time. I spent one year with a range of about 4 rooms and a hallway deep in the basement in the dark nestled up to a computer, so making sure I had ID that noone ever checked got to be a low priority pretty fast.
Oh, and let me add: Bastards.
