There are stupid questions-A Fill in MMP

**swampy ** should be here to make the executive decision about Monday’s hostess. My suggestion: since **Jah ** has already started, she wins. **kai ** said she’d do a big-ass post anyway, so that works, and **MamaTigs ** said this week or next, so she should get next. How 'bout that - does it work??

Only 7 more session in my class, which figures down to 4 actual clay-working days, plus one for bisque firing, plus one for glaze firing, then the last day. And I’ve gotten my final project approved, but there’s no way I can do it in that time, since we’ve got one other project to do, plus a raku firing. Thank goodness I can work at home. But it’s gonna be busy.

We should get our remodel all done this weekend. **FCD ** is stopping on the way home to get our shower doors. Then we go pick up our new glasses (yay!) then home to clear the bedroom. Tomorrow, I’ll paint the bedroom walls while he’s installing the shower doors and bathroom fixtures. Then Sunday, I should be able to get a coat on the trim, and Sunday evening, we can move back into the bedroom - or maybe Monday - depends on how much energy we have. We’re in the home stretch - yay!

Spring is here at last, and it looks as if it just might stay this time. I can only hope… I’ve got the furnace off and the windows open. That will be the configuration for the whole weekend, and then some. Huzzah!

And that’s all I’ve got. TGIF!!!

Ellen if I could do that I wouldn’t care if I had a boyfriend or not.

Howdy y’all! I’m on sis’s puter cause she called me and told me to come to her house and put some beerverages on ice (she’s still at work) so I did and decided to sneak in here for a sec.

The interview was, ummmm… strange. I got asked the exact same questions I got asked last time. I know cause before the first interview I was given the questions to look over and yesterday I was given the same set of questions before the interview. The only difference was no written question to answer this time. Tres strange! Anywho, I felt it went really well.

The Probate Judge explained to us what we would need to do in order to have a competency hearing. It’s a lot of paperwork, thus, I am at mom’s today going through a bunch of it. If we request this, my uncle, of course, has the right to refute any claims beforehand and to have legal representation if he so chooses should it get that far and all that stuff as would be only right. The court costs are not all that bad, only a couple hundred bucks, which kinda surprised me. So, we shall fill out all the requisite paperwork and see what happens. I hate this but ol’ unc has backed out of everything he said he’d do and well, the man needs help. Still, when it comes down to it, no matter how much any of us thinks some of our family members are nuts, it’s a tough thing to get that declared legally.

On a lighter note, ol’ Groucho (one of mom’s cats if y’all will recall) made Cats that look like Hitler! I had forgotten about this (thanks BioTigs for pointin’ me to this) until Wednesday night. I told sis what I’d done and we looked the site up to see if he had made it. Hee! Mom’s reaction was, “You did what!”, and then she got a kick out of seein’ him there and the site. I think sis has emailed the site to everybody she could possibly think of. She and niece sat at her puter and giggled for a loooooooooong time over the cats and all the comments. Yay Groucho!

ETA: By executive order, Jah shall do next week’s MMP, kai the following week’s and BioTigs the week after that. There. Now that’s all settled.

::sigh::

Having kind of a funk-ish day. I think because I KNOW it’s beautiful out and I’m stuck here a couple more hours at least.

Heeee, I just uped Groucho’s rating.

Me too. Go Groucho!

I’m done the laundry and the grocery shopping, and I took Mom out for lunch. It’s a perfectly beautiful afternoon- sunny and 21C. If it stays like this all summer I’ll be happy.

Now I have some sewing and tidying to do. I’d like to just lie on the couch and read.

I do NOT want to know what you mean by that. :stuck_out_tongue:

Okay, finally read the whole MMP (whew!) and got all caught up. I upped Groucho’s rating, too. Hee! But he’s a MUCH better CTLLH than many of the ones on there – some of them barely even qualify!

I’m sitting here trying to figure out how to disguise my cherry-red, utterly-fried, so-fried-it’s-scabbed-over nose so I won’t look like a total idiot going out in public. See, Sunday in New Orleans at the French Quarter Festival, I sat in front of the Brass Band Stage all afternoon because I was really, really tired from walking and dancing for too many hours Saturday (but yay! I can dance on my new knee!), so I just parked myself and sat there and knitted and enjoyed the music. But I forgot something: I live up in Yankee Country now, so even though it was quite cool and windy, enough that I wore my sweatshirt all afternoon and needed it, the sun was still a whole lot stronger than it is in Yankee Country and living up here, I lost my base coat of tan. I’ve tried hard to avoid getting tanned in the last 15 years or so, but have always had a slight base coat on my face and arms and legs just so I could be outside for a few hours and be fine. And living in NOLA, I needed it for all the outdoor music festivals.

But now Papa Tigs is calling me Rudolph. :frowning: :smack: :dubious: :frowning:

Plus the thumb sides of my hands are red, too. From sitting there holding knitting needles in the sun all afternoon. :smack:

Anyway, week after next for the MMP would be great, so put me down for then. I lack photos of the day we spent in Mississippi because my camera had somehow gotten reset to a higher resolution, which I didn’t realize till it was too late and I’d filled up my card, and the only same-type card we could find was too big for my camera to handle. So we solved the problem by buying a last-year’s-model camera (only 5.1 mega pixels, poor me!) on sale for $79. So I now can take 820 photos at the highest resolution, and nearly 17,000 ( ) if I want to slum it at the lowest resolution (which I really, really, really doubt I would ever do, but it’s still a cool thing to have!). So I upgraded from a 32 MP card to a 2 gig card, plus the $79 camera. I’m pleased. But I missed taking photos in Mississippi. Not that they would have looked very different from each other – can you spell t-o-t-a-l d-e-v-a-s-t-a-t-i-o-n, girls and boys?

It’s a gor-geeee-yous day here! Papa Tigs, who’s not going back to work till Monday, took the Idiots to the beach, where they had a lovely time swimming. I’ve been home working, since it is technically a workday and I don’t get paid for vacation time. :frowning: But my knee is so much happier after its week of exercise that I’m actually enjoying being able to sit at my desk and be a productive human again.

And then this evening we’re off to the Warner Theatre to see Great Big Sea again. Not that you can ever see Great Big Sea too many times! And I can dance! I can do that Vertical Motion and not get sore!

May I suggest one of these?

Ah yes, the Groucho 'stache and glasses, with of course fake nose. Actually, it would probably look better than my real one right now. Sigh.

Have I mentioned how much I looooove Fridays?

Taters I am in Bakersfield so not quite Sacramento!

Why o why o why does buying a house have to be such a frustrating experience? I have had an offer in on a house for 2 weeks and they are still pissing about over accepting it or not grrrrrrrr. Very very grrrrrr.

So my realtor gave them an ultimatum if no response by 4PM we are withdrawing the offer. But I loooove the house I don’t wanna look at any more stoopit houses but I also can’t wait anymore. I hate moving - this whole experience has been sucky.

that don’t look nuthin like no pigeon!

So as I was getting ready to leave work this evening, I started having this nagging feeling I was supposed to do something tonight but could not remember what it was. Still don’t.

Well, they all wished me well, but since there was a “fuss” for a gal who retired today, they didn’t do anything special for me. Just as well. I think that’s part of why I am so calm as compared to the lunatic I was going out for my hip surgery. Most of this afternoon was spent frantically bringing my supervisors up to speed on some of my functions so that when the gal who’ll be doing it says “help. I forgot what to do here” they’ll know the answer.

I’m going in for a few hours tomorrow a.m. to make sure my stuff is as cleaned up as possible.

eta:

I just noticed this. Yay for you!

*ems ** - when we bought this house, our offer included the requirement that they reply within 24 hours. It was a really hot market and we didn’t want to get into a bidding war. Lucky for us, they accepted that very evening. Moral of the story - always include a time limit. I can’t imagine a seller waiting 2 weeks!! I think in all of our purchases, we always had an answer within a day or 2. Hope you get your house… * <fingers crossed>

That makes me hurt just looking at it.

My back hurts anyway - I hauled and moved stuff a lot this morning for the yard sale. Not terribly successful on my end, but I spent less than I made by $2.75. I got 5 beanie babies, a stainless steel pitcher, a nice picture frame with the cut-out matt to hold 10 pictures (all the fuzzbutts plus Mr. SCL), two huge ceramic platters with fish on 'em for the kitchen walls, a collapsible butterfly chair, a big basket for cat-napping and a really totally cool soft-sculpture dragon. I’ll take a picture of it later. Then I helped my buddy take her dog to the vet; there was a dogfight at her house last night and her Shelty was pretty banged up. We were concerned that she might have a broken leg but thank goodness it’s not. So she got a shot, and got some fur shaved, and gets to take a pill for 10 days.

Swampy, I helped a bit with Groucho’s rating, too. Good luck with uncle; if he backed out on doing what he promised to do you really don’t have much choice.

I’d better go check in on Mafia II before I get lunched. I think I liked Werewolf better, where your choices were lynched or lunched.

FCM we are dealing with a bank - it is in foreclosure so they asked for days and today is 14…

aw geez - a bank? That’s like buying from a bureaucracy. Hope it works out for you.

I survived(you can call off the cyborg lemurs, gt). I found out why I was short handed, the guy hurt his back(I hurt my back because he didn’t showup for a truck [Darth Vader]The circle is now complete[/DV]). Time for beer and hockey
I voted for Groucho.

I used too much conditioner in my hair this morning, or else I didn’t rinse it out enough, or else that conditioner is yucky, but my hair feels gross. Now I have to take another shower, just so I can go to the grocery store.

I have long hair. :frowning:

Hi everyone. Woot! It’s finally Friday.

Bobbio, it must be the day for shattered windshields. My husband was in his semi today when a rock about the size of his fist came at his windshield and shattered it. It wasn’t the whole windshield, about twelve inches of it, but he saw the rock coming and was trying to duck. Fortunately, the rock hit the centerpost, so the damage wasn’t as severe as it could have been.

We all went out to Red Robin for chop-chop tonight. So, I didn’t have to cook.

Well, hubby wants to WoW it up, so I guess I’ll have to cut this short.

Smooches to all.

Ooooh, I hate it when that happens with conditioner, Savannah.

Glad the interview went well, swampy. Maybe they wanted to see if you gave the same answers as last time? Was it all the same people? Did you tell them we say “hi!” and that they should hire you?

Hope the house deal works out, ems. Who knows? Maybe some of nashi’s luck will rub off on you. Give us an update as soon as you have one!!! So, are you working for the same company, or is this a new one?

OK…cancelled the cyborg lemur reservation, doggio. Glad you survived.

MamaT, can’t you just wander around holding a cat in front of you, kinda like swampy’s Mom with Groucho? I’m sure no one would notice.

I voted for Groucho, too, by the way.

Sorry about the broken windshields…glad it sounds like no one was hurt, though.

Went to a fun party tonight at a one of these places. They basically have a bunch of stations with all the ingredients prepped so that you put meals together. I picked stuff that would take lots longer if I made it myself. We had a really fun time and the pricing was very reasonable. Now I’m going to have an extremely full freezer. I’m going to bake everything tomorrow and put it in single serving packages and stow it in the freezer. It’ll be interesting to see how everything fits.

Guess I should consider beddie bye…

It’ll be nice not to have to get up really early tomorrow. Yay!

GT

Mork, wow. . . thank you so much. That’s great stuff!! You’re always a fountain of information. I’ll try stepping through some of the links to see if it’s worth doing or not. I generally listen to stuff more than watch, but it would be great to have some variety. I appreciate you putting together all that stuff.

Ellen, I was thinking about doing yoga and even had a class in mind until I saw that picture. Now, I’m re-thinking. Yow! I even bought a yoga DVD with the Dalai Lama on meditation on it. I haven’t watched it yet, but that one picture has me cringing.

OK all, I’ve had a great day. Great days are not happening with alarming frequency here, so I thought I’d write to commemorate the occasion. It was a beautiful day at around 72 degrees F all day and I feel like I’ve had somewhat of a productive week.

Hugs to all of those that aren’t doing so well this week.
