Okay, finally read the whole MMP (whew!) and got all caught up. I upped Groucho’s rating, too. Hee! But he’s a MUCH better CTLLH than many of the ones on there – some of them barely even qualify!
I’m sitting here trying to figure out how to disguise my cherry-red, utterly-fried, so-fried-it’s-scabbed-over nose so I won’t look like a total idiot going out in public. See, Sunday in New Orleans at the French Quarter Festival, I sat in front of the Brass Band Stage all afternoon because I was really, really tired from walking and dancing for too many hours Saturday (but yay! I can dance on my new knee!), so I just parked myself and sat there and knitted and enjoyed the music. But I forgot something: I live up in Yankee Country now, so even though it was quite cool and windy, enough that I wore my sweatshirt all afternoon and needed it, the sun was still a whole lot stronger than it is in Yankee Country and living up here, I lost my base coat of tan. I’ve tried hard to avoid getting tanned in the last 15 years or so, but have always had a slight base coat on my face and arms and legs just so I could be outside for a few hours and be fine. And living in NOLA, I needed it for all the outdoor music festivals.
But now Papa Tigs is calling me Rudolph.
:smack: :dubious:
Plus the thumb sides of my hands are red, too. From sitting there holding knitting needles in the sun all afternoon. :smack:
Anyway, week after next for the MMP would be great, so put me down for then. I lack photos of the day we spent in Mississippi because my camera had somehow gotten reset to a higher resolution, which I didn’t realize till it was too late and I’d filled up my card, and the only same-type card we could find was too big for my camera to handle. So we solved the problem by buying a last-year’s-model camera (only 5.1 mega pixels, poor me!) on sale for $79. So I now can take 820 photos at the highest resolution, and nearly 17,000 ( ) if I want to slum it at the lowest resolution (which I really, really, really doubt I would ever do, but it’s still a cool thing to have!). So I upgraded from a 32 MP card to a 2 gig card, plus the $79 camera. I’m pleased.
But I missed taking photos in Mississippi. Not that they would have looked very different from each other – can you spell t-o-t-a-l d-e-v-a-s-t-a-t-i-o-n, girls and boys?
It’s a gor-geeee-yous day here! Papa Tigs, who’s not going back to work till Monday, took the Idiots to the beach, where they had a lovely time swimming. I’ve been home working, since it is technically a workday and I don’t get paid for vacation time.
But my knee is so much happier after its week of exercise that I’m actually enjoying being able to sit at my desk and be a productive human again.
And then this evening we’re off to the Warner Theatre to see Great Big Sea again. Not that you can ever see Great Big Sea too many times! And I can dance! I can do that Vertical Motion and not get sore!
