There are stupid questions-A Fill in MMP

Always glad to help. If you need more info on the programs themselves (usage, configuration, whatever) feel free to shout. They’re actually quite simple once configured; MediaCoder in particular is exceptional in terms of quality and the fact that it can batch-convert, so once you’ve set all the parameters, you just drag a whole whack of episodes in, hit “start” and away it goes, one after the other. The settings stay put between sessions so once configured to convert to your PDA you can continue to just drag-and-convert.

…so I take that second shower, including a thorough shampoo. “Gee,” I think to myself. “This shampoo sure has a strong strawberry scent. Funny how I’m just noticing it n…”

Yep. This morning I conditioned twice, shampooed zero. No wonder the locks were lank.

I have received my first mosquito bite of the year, right on the neck. Must be spring! Happy Friday everyone!

Hey y’all, it’s been a hella week in the life of kaiwik, I don’t have the energy to go into all of it, but suffice it to say I have cried more this week than in recent history. I will write a big ass post next week, and will be happy to write the OP for the week after, unless MamaTigs wants to go first, since she had such a good time in NOLA. All the appropriate hugs, best wishes, etc. I need to go lie down for a while now, even though it is barely 10:00 pm and I took a good long nap this afternoon. It’s either allergies or I am coming down with a bug, but I just want to get back in my jammies. I missed posting much this week, and will do m best to perform better next week.

Good night my internet buddies, you are all such a rock in the storm for me.

OK, Savannah (what’s your nickname?..it’s too early for me to think of nicknames…only Savvy and Vannah come to mind and I’m sure there’s something cleverer out ther…), the conditioner story made me laugh out loud. Of course, I’m not fully awake.

Sorry the week has been so bad, kai. I’ve missed you lots and I’m sorry to hear you weren’t around because things were going badly.

Yay, for good days, Heff!

Garlic-olive chicken in the oven and breakfast braided bread rising. Lasagna will go in the oven after the bread is baked.

Happy Saturday, everyone!

Yep, I’m up early on Saturday. Again. But doggies have been out, then fed, cat has been fed, my teeth are brushed, and I put another coat of paint on my little toilet-paper-toilet-brush-cleanser cabinet so that **FCD ** can install it later today. I sure hope it works out the way I envision it.

Once he’s up and functional, we’re going to clear out the bedroom (neither of us was motivated last night) and start work. I expect to spend most of the day painting, and he’s going to be doing the finish installations in the bathroom - lights, trim, cabinets, fixtures, shower door. We still need to buy the water supply lines for the toilet and sink, plus we need towel bars and the TP holder. And the new doors need to be drilled out for knobs. And we need to buy those knobs. And I need to paint the new doors. And we need to hang the blinds after I paint the bedroom… Yanno, I don’t think we’ll finish this weekend, but maybe we’ll get finished enough that we can move back in there anyway. Maybe.

I thought we were supposed to be getting spring, but when I took the canines out, it was 38 degrees out there! I could see my breath!! Rumor has it we’ll see low 70s today. OK, I’ll be waiting to throw the windows open. Meanwhile, the furnace came on already this morning. Stoopit weather.

And that’s pretty much all I have right now. I want some caffeine, but I don’t want tea, and I don’t want to get dressed and drive down to Wawa for a soda. Such is my morning dilemma. <insert deep sad sigh here>

kai, hope you’re feeling better. Come back for lots of hugs and sympathies when you’re ready.

Happy Saturday, all!

FCM, I’m here with you…

I had dinner at a new restaurant last night, and it didn’t agree with me. I’ve been awake all night.

May I whine a bit? Yes? Thank you. Whine commencing.

Way up at the beginning of this thread, I posted how my pupper is going to make her Big Debut this weekend. I haven’t been able to compete in agility for a long time, due to finances and injuries, and this weekend was not only the first time we’ve all been healthy and financially stable, but my pupper hits 18 months old on SSunday, making her finally eligible for NADAC competition. We were all ready, too! Our instructor gave us the green light.

Corbi, my dear pupper, came into heat yesterday. Illegal to compete in heat. Gavi, my 4 year-old, is limping. We are out, again. With a loss of all entry fees. ARRRRRGGGGGHHH!

morning all (weather report says the next few days will be sunny and in the 70s :D)

I’m off to the office to clean up as much old work as I can (last night, or rather this morning between snoozez) I dreamed that while I was out, we got brand new smaller cubicles, and all my personal stuff was in a pile in the corner of the room. (clothes, blanket, CDs, cat food - the kind of thing one normally finds in an office desk :dubious: )

Then to the salon, then the gang and I are going out to dinner, combining my send off with a friend’s birthday. We’re going to Red Lobster, because some of them are “between gigs” and cannot really afford Legal’s (plus RL has more non fish choices for my friend who will not eat anything that “has ever spent part of its life in the sea”)

That is all
See ya tonight

Ooh, that sucks, Fetch.
kai, we await your return. Hugs and prayers headed out.

It’s sunny and warm, which means I have to work tonight. For the record, no one should have to work when the weather’s this gorgeous. On the other hand, I think my skin is having a slight pollen reaction, so maybe I should be indoors. Bleh.

Morning. The dog is walked, the cat is fed, and my Cyborg Lemur Army is recharged. It’s 53 degrees Amurikin, but it feels warmer.

Sorry about that Fetch

{{{{kai}}}}, hope you get better soon. Tell the Poms to mother you.

Good morning, all. I’ve actually been up and caffeinating and even working for a while, but have mostly been sitting here telling my aching body to behave itself. I danced waaay too much at the show last night. But do I care? I don’t think so! It was a wonderful show. The acoustics at the Warner are wonderful, and it’s such a lovely theater, all gold and ornate, and the crowd was, as always at a Great Big Sea show, happy and excited. And Lapin Blanc managed to snag an empty seat in the front row so she could actually see the band (when you’re 4’2", sitting in a middle-of-the-row orchestra seat is definitely a problem). And Papa Tigs even sang along and tried to clap (although he has no sense of rhythm, so it’s hilarious to watch him flailing along, out of synch with everyone else). And I managed to sing every verse of Mari-Mac with the band, which starts off being sung fast and then they get faster and faster and faster till just wrapping your tongue around the lyrics is nearly impossible (the chorus, as an example, goes: “Mari-Mac’s mother’s making Mari-Mac marry me/My mother’s making me marry Mari-Mac/Well I’m going to marry Mari for when Mari’s taking care of me/We’ll all be feeling merry when I marry Mari-Mac”). So everyone was happy. And today Lapin Blanc and I are both stiff and sore. But regretting it? Definitely
not!

Papa Tigs has spent the morning torturing the dogs by cooking bacon ends from the Amish market. They end up getting a few tiny scraps in each meal; he pulls out the best chunks for the humans. Yum, bacon from the Amish market! Plus the house smells wonderful.

Back to caffeinating!

FCM - all of my ads are for bathroom hardware!

Kai - {{{{hugs}}}} and purrs.

I probably shouldn’t mention this, but it’s 70 degrees out there. Not that I have been out there yet…

Today will involve much doing of laundry. Such an exciting life I lead.

Mr. SCL just stuck his head in to tell me he’s going to Lowes and will stop at Cheddars and bring me a Monte Cristo sandwhich. I am drooling in anticipation.

Well, I balanced my check book, paid some bills and took the dog for a walk. Lucretia has done her spring escape, hope I can get her back before she caused trouble. [Firefly]that little cat sure loves fire[/Firefly].

The cat is back, no (obvious) fires to report.

That’s what Lucretia *wants *you to think. In reality, she’s just waiting for you to fall asleep, when she’ll light the fuse…

Landlord confirmed that Screaming Neighbor is still in jail, but will probably be let out on Monday. The neighbors are banding together to get rid of her, which makes me feel uncomfortable, except that she has threatened people, and taken to throwing things, and one of those clay roof tiles could easily kill someone, especially the 4 year old next door, whom she hates.

Jah here’s hopin’ y’all get rid of crazy neighbor. Geez!

doggio there’s a wildfire ragin’ near the Okefenokee Swamp. Maybe that’s where Lucretia got off to?

Snakes I just saw your question about LaGrange College. I did, indeed, receive my undergraduate ed-joo-kay-shun there. Heh. When I was there there were like six hundred students total. This year there’s almost fifteen hunnert. And they play football now.

Thanks to everybody who’s voted to up Groucho’s rating. He’d be proud. Ok, he might look up from his nap long enough to meow, that being pretty much the sum total of activity for Groucho. That and head buttin’. Cat loves to head butt!

Swampy - when did you go to LaGrange? What was your major? Both Mr. SCL and I graduated from there. He was a drama major who graduated in 1980, while I was a social work/art major who graduated in 1982. It makes me giggle to think of LaGrange having a football team. I sincerely hope they have better attendance for football than they did for basketball.

db, I’m glad Miz Hellcat made it home safely. We haven’t had any escapes into the great “out there” since the cats were installed in the cat suite. If they get out of here I just have to chase them through the house, which is enough of a butt-pain for me.

Jahdra, if there is potential for the screaming neighbor to hurt a child, I can understand why the neighbors would want to get rid of her. It might not be “politically correct” but it’s better than waiting until a child is hurt. I can’t wait to hear the story on this - my neighbors provide no excitement. I’m glad of that but it is boring!

Break time. Whew. We cleared out the bedroom and I scrubbed the window and door trim, then painted it - 2 coats. I just finished the first coat on the walls. **FCD ** removed the old base molding in the bedroom, then installed the base, crown, and chair rail molding in the bathroom, installed the medicine cabinet, installed the heater grate, and caulked everything. Then he cleaned the shower stall. Plus he made the molding for the bathroom door and window.

He’s reading the instructions for installing the shower door and I’m about to go downstairs and paint the remaining molding and put a final coat on the small cabinet. Then I’m quitting for the night.

Tomorrow, I’ll do the second coat on the walls and touch up the trim. I’m kinda ticked - when I got the the very last corner at the top of the wall, I bumped the ceiling - grrrrrr! I’m all out of ceiling paint - guess I’ll touch it up with some other white and hope it doesn’t show. Also tomorrow, we should get the toilet and sink installed, and the towel bars. When I’m done painting, I’ll hang the new blinds. Maybe I’ll install the new outlets, too. Dunno if we’ll get to the base molding tomorrow - we shall see.

The weather is gorgeous - I’ve got the windows open and the house is just overflowing with fresh air! It more than makes up for the cold morning. Dare I hope that spring is truly here??

Well, break time is over - off to paint some molding…

Went to the art museum, then had dinner at a friend’s house. I’ve been home for an hour or so, continuing the great paper purge. Shredding R Us.

Sounds like a fun time, MamaT.

Glad Lucretia found her way home.

It’s been beatiful here today as well. Back to the shredder.

GT

It was nice here today, and I spent the whole day until a few minutes ago outside. Washing the cars, cut the grass, making dinner, hanging with the neighbors.

Wife’s out playing bunco, I found a movie on On-Demand and I do believe I’m just going to sit here and enjoy it.

I ate too much at dinner, but it was good. and the conversation ran the gamut from VaTech and 9-11 to Star Trek TOS and Batman the 60s series to just about everything in between

I am quite sleepy, I am just waiting for a little more room in my stomach so I can take my pills and crawl into bed.
My best friend is coming over tomorrow to help me tote stuff up and down the stairs to get ready for the hospital.
I’ll check in a few times tomorrow, then that’s it until they let me near a 'puter.
