There are stupid questions-A Fill in MMP

I am in qite a state at the moemnet: both drunk and high ebcause my friends decided I had to greet my birthdyay in such a state. About to pass out so must go to bed. Love to all, of coursee.

Morning all, not having a very good day so far over here as I woke up in the night with really bad stomach pains and they just won’t go away.

I finally got hold a friend with some fire pics for you, they were taken in someone’s garden one night when we were experimenting with the possibility of creating small, confined flames instead of the usual huge “get it as big as you can” ones we normally aim for!

*Happy Birthday, Hank!*Very cool pics, BooFae.

Yeah, I guess, it’s currently quieter on the terrorista/insurgente front, Nava. Seems like the people who were active in Guerrero and Oaxaca (I’m woefully ignorant about all of these groups; just know they exist[ed]) have been quieter too.

I’m up. Cleaning. Fun.

Happy Birthday, HazelNutCoffee!!

Cumpleaños feliz,

I’m not sure I believe Hank’s drunk disclaimers. Are y’all sure it isn’t just an excuse to get away with being goopy?

Happy Haze Day!

BooFae, nice fire.

Yeah, she’s hot…

My word, that’s cool, Scary. I mean hot. It’s really neat.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HANK! HOW’S YOUR HEAD?
Morning, everyone. I need tea before starting on all my chores.

Happy hazeday!!!

Off to meetings.

Get wells, yay’s, and assorted appropriate greetings to all!

Cool fire boofae!

Awesome pics, BooFae!! I hope your tummy feels better soon.

Happy Birthday, Haze!!

Back to work…

Happy Birthday, Hank!

Good morning all.

This whole VT thing makes me very sad to the point that I can’t watch the news without fighting back tears, which is incredibly abnormal for me. (I’m usually the asshole in the corner making bad jokes or snide remarks.) I had to change from NPR this morning to [del]something[/del] anything else so I wouldn’t get to work all tear stained and covered in snot drips.

These past couple of days have been a bit crazy and stressful. On Monday, Acid Lamp went to look at a property that we were thinking about renting; it was great and just under our maximum price. He goes to put in paperwork yesterday, and, of course, like the moron that I am, I leave my phone on silent all day. I get a barrage of voicemails from him. First, it’s that I need to call him back to get the paperwork faxed to me; then it’s that the rental deal fell through because they gave it to someone else while we were getting our paperwork in. And, of course, after I get out of work, I find this out. I get another call from him as I’m off to get my free cone from B&J’s (which I didn’t need), and I have to rush home, beg the neighbor to let us use their fax to receive the paperwork, and fill it out. This morning, I faxed all the filled-in paperwork to the property management company, and I’m waiting on an appropriate time to call them up and make sure that they got it and that they’ll hold the other property that we’re looking at now that we’ve got our papers in. It’s all very frustrating; we’re not only bumping up our move-in date to May 15th (because that’s as long as they’ll hold a rental for us), but we’re not entirely sure that they’ll hold a property until Saturday so that we can look at it in person and sign all the paperwork to lease it. :frowning:  :smack: Of course, this all comes on the tail of his mom not being too pleased with us moving in together (again) while unmarried and giving the opinion that maybe we should wait until July to try to settle this stuff up. (Of course, she wasn’t too thrilled with the idea that, if we waited, I’d have to move up there early and spend two weeks in their house until we got a place of our own set up. ) Blech. I just want it to be over so I can get settled and have a job and be financially independent.

Good luck, Swampy.

BooFae, those photos are pretty awesome. It’d be nice to have time (and a backyard) to watch Acid Lamp do that again.

Puggy, that map is fascinating and a little scary. It appears that Canada and Japan are two of the only places left with little to no terrorism going on. I also am intrigued about some of the incorrectly placed terrorist points; there’s one for Thailand that’s placed right in the middle of Central America.

You guys are all so mean, with the yelling and the bright colors. Someday, you’ll post drunk, and Haze will have her revenge.

Happy Birthday, Haze!

Happy Birthday, Hanky Panky!

(That might only seem funny when drunk/high.)

So, morning coffee was good, work is a bust presently. Our system’s tape backup failed last night. It keeps doing that. As a result we have no access to our system until that gets fixed, so the morning is filled with “I’m sorry, our system is down so we can’t check that…” Makes work easy, but irritating. My coworker still isn’t back yet either. I’m in no rush and he deserves whatever time off he needs, but it does put a wee bit more pressure on.

Spring is coming! Finally. A bit miserable today, but we’re supposed to have a bunch of really nice days coming up. And, if I may say so, it’s about motherslapping time.

Off to try and put some of this hump day behind me.

Happy! Birthday! Hazel!
Yay for birthdays. I’m sure Hank had an excellent time - she’s never been one to skimp on the celebration.

BooFae, all that fire breathing is way, way cool. Kudos!

On the agenda today, apparently, is going out to lunch with some of my physics classmates. And going to class, and also maybe doing laundry, and proctoring an exam tonight.

And so it goes, and so it goes. Breakfast time! Have a good day, everyone!

She missed her chance. :stuck_out_tongue:

Happy Birthday Haze!!

It’s actually not terribly busy here this week, and I’m debating whether I am motivated and want to do non-rush projects or if I want to be unmotivated and spend most of my day on the Dope. Hmm… decisions, decisions.

It’s beautiful out though so I know that after work I’m definitely going rollerblading. Yay!

I knew someone around here loved me, at least.

Just kidding. Thank you all for the kindly birthday wishes! I drank mostly shots of bourbon yesterday, which got me drunk very quickly but at least I don’t have much of a hangover. Whew.

BooFae, awesome pics.

Must go do some work, unfortunately. Have a lovely Wednesday everyone!

Happy birthday from me, too, Miss Hazel!

Not much interesting going on in my world today. I have to take my son to the dentist for a filling. Envy me, my exciting life.

I saw the wild orchids again yesterday! Now that the deer has been buried (the deer’s been on my mind since Sunday; just the thought of the poor thing lying there made me sad) I wandered up into the woods with Clover the dog. I didn’t have the camera with me, but they look like this.

It’s National Poetry Month, and a poem has been read on the radio every morning. I like this!

Speaking of poetry, has anyone heard the Wordsworth rap? I heard it on As It Happens (yes, I’m a CBC radio nutter) the other night. The hosts’ voices were so warm and rich with good-spirited amusement. I love that program. We have some nice daffodils around the place, but something ate my pansies last night! Oh, well. This is what happens when you live next to The Woods.

My guilty pleasure the other day was reading Something Awful ghost story threads, and when first came upon the deer, I’d been thinking “woods can be a bit spooky…” and then I saw the former deer. There was a shriek, yes. Maybe that’s why it affected me so. I am not getting much done on this holiday week, thanks to the INTERNET.

Stupid internet.
