Hmm, I don’t know if Leine’s will be the answer to my Miller-product-induced-headaches. Maybe I’ll have to smuggle something in!
I’m not talking about that Honey-Weiss or Berry-Weiss crap.
Regular Leinie’s is good.
or it was good…
Miller may have ruined it…
It’s been awhile since I have had any.
Can I get an August West from the congregation??
::rising from the mists of obscurity::
Oh yes, you most assuredly can count me in. What an incredible park. I went to the open house a few weeks ago and literally had tears in my eyes. My wife was laughing at me! Would we all want to sit together? It’s possible that I could get 4 Diamond Box tickets (with .300 Club access and a gold parking pass) for myself and my Stevens Point brethren, but if we chose to eschew the trappings of the social elite and mingle with the common folk that’s OK with me also.
And what could possibly be cooler than a Uecker bobbing head doll?
We have a ten person contingency coming down from Point, Sledman is ordering the tickets as we speak. We’re getting seats in the “Field Outfield Box - Left Field” section. Looks to be row 5 that we’ll nab, based on the info from the website.
We’ll have to plan a meeting time and place. I think we’re planning on coming down on Saturday and leaving on onday.
“leaving on Monday.”
This is still a ‘go’, right? I mean, we’re getting close here.
The Good News: I know a good meeting place. There’s a bar on the south end of Water St. that runs a shuttle bus to the Brewer games for free. It’s a great place to meet and then just take the shuttle over. Saves all those parking $$, too. Let me know if this is an acceptable idea.
The Bad News: You have to be 14 or under to get a Uecker Bobble Head Doll.
Hmmmmm. I’ve got a brother-in-law in Milwaukee, and we just found out my damn day care provider is going on vacation starting July 29th so I’m gonna have to take off from work anyway… and I also have a kid under fourteen… this is looking promising from a theoretical standpoint, but we’re doing so damn much travel in August I’m not sure we could stand one more trip. But I’ll throw it out there to Mr. Cranky.
There’s a bar in Milwaukee??? Which bar?? Sounds good, even though I’d be coming from the west, Madison.
[whine]Yes, you have to be 14 or over for the bobbleheads, even though most other baseball organizations give them to everyone. [/whine]
Sure, Minnesota fans can come along if you didn’t make it this weekend, it beats being outnumbered by Cubs fans at a Cubs game foolishly thinking ‘this may be our year’.
I’ve been to 3 games and think they have Miller, Miller Lite, and many flavors of Leinies, and I’m betting they have something else-maybe Sprecher??? Depending where they are, seats along the third base line may be in the sun, and hot if it’s a hot day-warning. You often see those empty until later in the day when the sun moves. I don’t mind, I like it warm. The bleachers in centerfield and right are pretty cool too.
The bar I was thinking of is Slim McGinn’s. It looks small from the street, but has a huge beer garden (or biergarten). I’m not sure if Gazoo or Sledman are even around the boards anymore, it’s been a while since I stopped in.
It’s been awhile since I’ve hit the board too, but I had e-mail notification set up on this one.
Yeah, we found out about the 14 and under crap after we bought 15 or so tickets. I figure, hey, offer a kid a beer or two, maybe he becomes Gilbert Godfrey in Beverly Hills Cop II. (Is there something I could put in this hand to make you say “what’s this over in this hand?”)
Sledman, Gazoo, and several others will be at the game. Section 128, row 8 I believe. We’re coming to town on Sunday and staying over to Monday. E-mail me with info if you’d like to hook up at a bar. Our hotel is pretty close to the stadium, so try to stay in the area.
