Well, these are also being marketed as winter boots, have the same net height, and are much less stable because of the narrower heel, and I bet nobody here would look twice at them.
Well, I’d give 'em a bit of a stare. No, not just because I live in southern California… It’s the fur trim. It looks enough like The Black Cat’s superhero boots, I’d have to double-take on them.

Keep in mind that the site you linked (6pm.com) sells discounted products that didn’t sell well the first time around. you weren’t alone in not liking those boots. It looks like lots and lots of people didn’t like them.
One of the documentary videographers I worked with had a pair of absurd boot with huge, cushiony platforms. Say what you will, but his feet stayed warm in the Arctic. We wear “moon boots” up North, with some pretty crazy insoles.
