I may be truly out of mind but this remake just cracks me up. The Gourds have remade Snoop Doggs- Gin and Juice.
It’s actually starting to grow on me…

Actually, that remake has been around for at least a year. I heard it about that long ago, if not longer. It’s insanely popular on my college radio station (especially on the underground country/western show) and has become quite the institution in East Lansing.

I first heard this about 2 years ago at a party. We were having a “ghetto/white trash party” and my friend said he had the perfect song for it. I was ecstatic upon hearing it and promptly borrowed the CD. I took it to another friend who had a thing for cover songs. A few days earlier, we’d had this long conversation on what the best silly cover song ever was. So i went up to him and was like, “remember what we were talking about the other day? Well, i got one that blows them all away!”

You know that look that little kids get when they open up the present they really wanted for Christmas? That’s just how he looked.

I don’t have the time now to download the clip right now, but is it similar to Dynamite Hack’s cover of “Boyz N the Hood”? If so, white bands covering rap classics is becoming epidemic!

Yup, my first link is directly to The Gourds web page. I just looked it up on Napster and there were several mislabeled “Phish”.
