Thieves loot car of Pat Burns' widow after funeral

According to Montreal police Const. Anie Lemieux, Burns’ wife Line Gignac discovered that the family vehicle had been broken into early Tuesday morning, less than 24 hours after she and hundreds of other mourners laid her husband to rest in Montreal.

Burns lost his battle with cancer on Nov. 19 at age 58.

The car contained 30 hockey sweaters signed by NHL stars from nearly every team in the league, family photographs, a watch belonging to Burns, jewelry belonging to his widow, several credit cards and two suitcases filled with Burns’ clothing.
