Thin Lizzy--thin thinking

Yes, what he said. E/N sites are everything/nothing, which basically means they have no topic and are fodder for everything and nothing. Blogs are often considered the epitome of E/N.

Bleaaaachhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Wow, I’ve been online for over a decade and this thread is the first time I’ve ever seen E/N used. Learn something new every dozen years…

Lizzy Rock!!
sorry, totally different thread than what I expected.

What a stupid thing to say.
Democrats fish. Republicans play golf.

I dunno, his generalizations don’t seem all that much worse then Liberals’s “socialists think money grows on trees” bullshit. He does have a much lower post count, and probably isn’t bright enough to defend himself in the pit, though. :stuck_out_tongue:

Clinton is a Republican?

You’re right. I shouldn’t have generalized. Many socialists believe money falls from the sky.

If s/he is a youngster, why choose a 70s rock band as a username? Have they made a comeback? Maybe s/he listens to Classic Rock FM radio…

While trust-fund kids believe it grows on the trees Daddy planted.

I love to fish, hate golf. I guess I must be a Democrat.

Not true. Some democrats fish for food. Some republicans fish for fun.

:dubious:

:stuck_out_tongue:

Note to self: When GD visits the Pit, don’t post funnies.

I shouldn’t read your posts with my mouth full of coffee. You almost made me spew with this one

Sorry 'bout that.

e/n does indeed stand for “everything/nothing,” and in the early days of web logging was used to describe those blogs which consisted of 37 entries a day of the form:

It means everything to the blogger and nothing to the reader.

It later became used in the message board context to describe those posters who use an MB as an outlet for verbal diarrhea, nattering on about stuff that probably makes perfect sense to them at the time, but none at all to anyone else.

Actually, the term hit its peak around 2000 and is less used now that blogs are more the norm than the exception.

Hah! Proof positive that I am neither a Democrat nor a Republican.

Imagine trying to outwit a fish. So you outwit the fish: so what? You’re smarter than a fish. But what if you fail to outwit the fish?

OTOH, golfers are a form of proto-virus. Somewhat below the lowest life forms.

In fact, if Democrats and Republicans are all fishermen or golfers, it would explain much of what is wrong with the country.
THAT should alienate just about everyone.

You forgot the left handed Anabaptists…

If you fail to outwit the fish, you drink beer.

I don’t need a fish outwitting me to drink beer.
