Things I don't know how to do [related to vbulletin]

So I have been posting in this forum for…I dunno…2 or 3 months or something and there are things that people do to their posts that I don’t know how to do, and I wonder if some of the Teeming Millions can help me.

  1. Multi-quote

  2. Box spoilers (where you have to highlight the message)

  3. Type with the line thru the word.

Thanks to anyone who can help!

Spoiler boxes I know.

Just do the brackets with the word SPOILER in the middle. Then [/SPOILER] at the end.

I’m not sure what you mean by multiquotes, which probably means I don’t know how to do it. I can’t do strikethrough either.

I’m guessing this thread belongs in ‘‘About This Message Board.’’

Multi-quotes:
I’m not sure if there is a way to multi-quote without hitting the quote button of each post you want to quote and copy-pasting its quote tag, then consolidating them all into one reply. If there is, I would be very happy to hear it myself.

Look at the bottom of each post. The middle button with the quote mark is multi-quote. Click that in each post you want to quote, it will turn red. Then click **post reply **and all the posts will be quoted in your reply.

I know how to move threads! Moved from MPSIMS to ATMB.

The others have been covered. To do a strikethrough type [noparse][del]stuff you want struckthrough[/del][/noparse].

[del]Voila![/del]

The strikethru font is made with ‘del’ in the before/after brackets.

A guide to codes can be found here.

Example:

Sir T Cups is [del]scary[/del] delightful!!

ETA: Beat me to it! Curses!

Yes, Queen of Lubricants, I am the King of Beating People to Strikethrough Directions*! Bow down before me!
*My most useful skill, I’m sorry to say.

Or just hit the quote button as normal on the last post you want in your multiquote.

I was going to ask how you did that, but luckily for me, replying shows me how you worked your magic!

So that’s how it works/what that button’s for! Thanks.

[del]hey only after three times I got this one[/del]

this one the first time!

i got this one too!!!
Thanks to all who helped!

That hurt my brain, SiX!

Also: the stick-toungue-out smileys look like two Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

With the strike through they look like they have mustaches.

[del]A:dubious:A[/del]

Is there an easy way to capture all the quotes inside a post? That is, say I wanted to quote post #14 – not only Sir-T-Cups’ “i got this one too!!!” but also the quoted bits from inside his post.

The easiest way to do that, it appears, is to multi-quote the quotes that Sir T-Cup quoted, then hit quote for the post that they’re quoted in, then highlight the [noparse]

[quote=Sir T-Cups]
[/noparse] bit, and drag it to the top of the post, so that the rest of the quotes are embedded. I’m not sure that was entirely clear; it’s a little hard to explain.

At any rate, you get this:

One easy way to do what fachverwirrt mentions is to go to the #14 indicator in the post and click on it. That will get you to a single post.

Like this.

Then use the < in the quote (assuming there is one) to go to that post and multiquote it. Then, use the back button on your browser to get back to the single quote and repeat as necessary.

Does that even make sense?
