Things I learned about Canada, eh? (MMP)

My cat. Love the little guy, but he must learn that just because he is up at 4 am, doesn’t mean I want to be.

A full plate of fun and games on tap today. but I DID make sure to sleep in a little, at least as late as Cuervo let me. I just demolished almost a pound of Oscar Meyer bacon by myself. Gah, I hate their bacon, it’s like paper. And a few Eggo’s. A healthy breakfast being vital to start an action packed day.

The temperature is making it’a way up - mid 50’s now. So a quick torturous ride on the bike, a little cleaning the garage, then back in to do vacuum/sweep/kitchen cleaning thing. Later today, meet some friends for dinner, then to see the play at the high school.

Speaking of which - when did Big become a musical? That’s what they’re doing. I hear it’s “better than you’ll expect”, but I’m not expecting much, so there’s still room to be dubious. :dubious:

I’ll check in later.

rigs, you need to be feeling better by Friday, got it?

Right. I was definitely up, not sleeping until 11:30. Right.

In my defense, Attacks Husband was over chatting with us until almost 3 am. It started raining around 1, and that cleared out all the damn screamy teenagers. Dot, the polar bears are going to be specially trained to only eat annoying teenagers. You will not be eaten.

Today I should buy a new kitchen garbage can and a bunch of cat food before work. Exciting shopping.

The ads say “Got excessive sleepiness?” and “Treating sleeping disorders”.

Really? For me they’re all Star Trek ads. And we haven’t mentioned it once. Somehow the google ads knew I’ve been watching Star Trek on G4 this morning. I’m disturbed.

Huh, the ads are all about sinusitus and bronchitis for me.

Shower is done, so I’ll have dry my hair and put my face on now.

MBG, I flipped my hair a couple of times in front of the window for you. Did you get the cookies, water, and beer?

The google ads are now all about safety signs and OSHA. What have you people been doing in here! Sheesh! I turn my back and all of a sudden the place is an OSHA hazard.

Today I have:

had coffee
eaten peanut butter crackers and drunk diet Coke
had a shower
had a nap
eaten a pbj with a glass of milk
spent three hours out at the pool
sipped on more diet Coke
had another shower because I had goop on me to protect me from the sun

Exciting huh?

The rain for today turned into sunshine and mid 80s. The pool temperature is 75 degrees Amurrkin, so it was a little coolish but nice. Felt good floating around on my cool blue pool float.

ACBG is now showering. He was at the pool too. Later we’re going over to a friend’s house and eat grilled hot dogs. We’ll probably do stuff besides that but as far as I know eating grilled hot dogs is the main event. I figure, free food’s free food.

Dots remember to eat and sleep and take care of yourself this week, ok?

Everybody else, have fun, get better (especially Rigs), be good, mind your manners, eat your vegetables, don’t run with scissors, etc.

Really? You don’t have much of an accent… :stuck_out_tongue:

We now have an operational garage door opener - YAY! And we took our trash and recycling to the convenience center. Life is good. In a little bit, we’re going out for a motorcycle ride - me as a passenger.

Tomorrow, we’re going up to see my mom, since we haven’t seen her in a while. We’ll take Bernie, but the cat will stay home.

Taters, I got your email - YAY! I’ll probably call you after 7 or so on Monday, giving you time to find the hotel and get settled in and all. And just to make everyone else jealous - I know Taters’ real name. Go me! I also know welby’s real name. And swampy’s, and Bumba’s and a bunch others. I expect I’ve forgotten some, too, because that’s just the way I am. Oh well…

That’s all I’ve got. Except to say that installing a garage door opener isn’t as easy as I thought it was going to be.

taters, Thanks for the munchies and beer and the lingering looks out the window. We stalkers require so little maintenance and encouragement, it’s good to know someone cares.

I got all the house-like stuff done that I wanted to, so I’m feeling pretty good about today. The friends and the 3 of us are going to wait til after the play to eat, so that gives me another hour or two to get some things done from right here on the couch while I sip some Diet A & W and listen to Jerry Garcia. And, a new development - the child is right now preparing a grilled cheese sandwich for me. Aww, my kid loves me!!

Back from a motorcycle ride to St. Clements Island. I live in a really beautiful county! I’m so lucky. We rode for maybe 25 miles, and my butt is only slightly achy.

I’m trying to decide if I want dinner or not. Maybe just a bowl of cereal. Unless someone wants to show up at my house with, oh, I dunno - a nice chef salad with chunky bleu cheese dressing, and lemon meringue pie for dessert? Is that asking too much?

Hi all - I’m feeling better but I’ve been schlubby all day (all yesterday, too, in fact) I so don’t want to go sing tomorrow. I should, I need to get out of the house. But I so don’t want to put on pantyhose and makeup (even tho I look good in the red outfit) My hair’s all icky 'cause I blew off my salon appointment today. (no I can’t really do a decent job of it myself because of the arthritis in my shoulders)
Heck. I’ll geet up tomorrow early enough to try to wash it, then I’ll decide. There’s walking I’m not looking forward to, sitting on my barstool on the side ofthe risers alwys makes me feel like a sore thumb.
oy
Talk me into it, please.

I suppose, FCM, that I’m so boring that you forgot what my real name is? :dubious:

I think that maybe the wife and I have found a new VunderLair. We went to look at a house today in Nawth Carliner, about 10 miles south of the state line. It was rough and needs a lot of work, but it was liveable as is and has potential. Gotta call the mortgage company that preapproved us back in February bright and early Monday morning to see if they’re licensed to cross the line.

Keeping everything crossed…

I’m here…I’m here…I’m here… Did you miss me?

It was a very planty day. (Is too a word!) Went to a plant sale this morning, then picked up a friend and went out to a nursery just outside of town and bought lots of plants. Some for home and some for church. We want to add more perennials at church, but didn’t really find anything nice there. Went to another place later to find a few more annuals for here (I needed some nice white stuff to fill in among the dark stuff I bought elsewhere) and some perennials for church as well as here. Oh…and later I went to Lowe’s and found even more…

I was going to plant tonight, but it’s supposed to be close to freezing, so I figure I’ll wait till tomorrow. Looks like every night after that will be over 50 for the next 10 days or so…

Hope you’re feeling better, rigsy. How’d you hold up at work? And rosie, too…

Too bad you can’t meet up with your cousin, Taters. I’d love to join you and FCM and welby and…is susan going to be there too?.., but Ohio is kind of far from Virginia.

What??? You can’t hear my accent?

Watching Pride and Prejudice (the movie that came out last year). I don’t like the parts of the dialogue that they invented, but there’s a lot about it that I like better than the one with Colin Firth… Seems like the depiction of where the Bennetts live is more realistic. There’s also some really beautiful photography.

Did I mention I went to Target? Well, I went to Target. The cover charge wasn’t too bad. Got a couple of DVDs, a couple of polo shirts, some tennies (my current ones look awful), and a few other things I’m forgetting.

Well…back to the movie… It’s another exciting Saturday night chez GT. (Don’t you wish you were here?)

GT

Oh…forgot to wish Bobbio good luck with the prospective lair…

GT

Now see for me, Keira Knightley is no Elizabeth Bennet–ever.

And gimme Colin Firth–oh, yummers!
I am glad I don’t have to talk here–I can’t. Yesterday was kinda bad at work-it started off sooo slow, but picked up with 4 admissions: every one of them ETOH intoxication (alcohol to you and me) and seizures. Every one.

Today should be fun, if they all go into DT’s…(actually, we don’t let that happen, but posting that wouldn’t be so dramatic, now would it?).

12 more hours to go (with no Dope to help–pity me).

I’m pretty sure this is just a cold (the stuffy nose just started this morning), but it’s aggravating nonetheless.
MBG -I’ll be better by Friday, I promise.

anyrose --put your hair up(if you have enough hair). Is there someone you could ask to help? Good luck-and you’ll do a great job, I’m sure.
GardenT --I am jealous–I want nothing more than a day in the yard, planting perennials. Maybe Monday.

Gee, Bobbio, I’m so embarrassed! I seem to recall that your name is fairly simple and straightforward. Must be old age… :stuck_out_tongue:

Good luck with the prospective new lair. Although I’m deeply offended that you feel the need to move ever farther from me. Surely it must be that you need an entire state between us to help you resist my allure. Right? Right???

That’s true; I think she was probably the weakest of the cast. Seemed sillier that the true Elizabeth would have been. But I thought the movie brought out better their differences in social standing and showed their relationship a little bit better. Also, I think that Jane is a bit better cast (and that may just be a matter of taste). Jane in the movie is very pretty and it’s easy to agree when they say that Jane is the prettiest sister; in the mini-series, the actress cast as Jane seems plainer to me than Elizabeth (too lazy to look up the actress’s name), and doesn’t seem to have much personality. Didn’t really care for the movie in the theater, but liked it much better on second viewing. I like the mini-series better, still, but I like the movie better than I thought.

Oh, yeah, FCM, you know my name too. Kinda hurt you’d forget, what with our special relationship and all. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, gotta get moving. Plant giveaway at church today and we’re gonna dig up some spare hostas before mass… Happy Sunday everyone!

GT

sheesh, gt, I didn’t forget your name. Frankly, I was just too lazy to go down the whole list of MMPers and sort out who I could stick a RL identity to. Now I’m waiting for Rebo to come yell at me, too.

Today is Visit my Mom Day. We’ll be leaving in about an hour or so, which means I should get some breakfast. If I don’t, I’ll have a killer headache before we’re even halfway there.

FCD is still sleeping. Last night was a bad one for both of us. I had a hard time falling asleep, then I kept having weird, disturbing dreams that woke me. He got up in the middle of the night to watch TV - dunno how long he was up. But he’s crashed now, and I’ll need to get him moving shortly. Think I’ll box up all my ceramics, too, to show my mom. She’s on a really slow dialup, so there’s no way she can check out my pics in a reasonable time frame…

We do have someone to do MMP tomorrow, don’t we? I’ll be off work, so I could if no one else stepped up. I suppose I could go back thru the thread and see. Or someone more on the ball could just tell me. You would if you truly loved me.

<crickets>

<sigh>

We do, said the cricket.

Good morning everybody!

Yesterday was very busy. I spent hours at the mall trying to find a new outfit. Why is it that when you want something and feel like you can afford to splurge, you can’t find anything you really, really like? I did end up with one new work outfit, a light jacket, a cute summery shirt, and some sandals, but none of it was what I really was looking for. I did however do really well with the cost. I got a new pair of slacks, a shirt/sweater set, the light jacket and the summery shirt for seventy bucks altogether. JC Penney was having a sale. The jacket was normally $50.00 bucks and I got it for $11.77. Pretty good huh?

However, none of the clothes I bought were what I had envisioned buying. I just couldn’t find it. That was frustrating. Also, bra buying is very frustrating. Every brand fits differently. That was another hundred odd dollars, but I needed some new bras to hold the girls up.

At any rate, I got home and then had to dash back out to the grocery store. I picked up a few groceries, came home and made dinner.

I never did get around to getting a haircut. Maybe today, but somehow I doubt I’ll find the time. Today we’re going out to breakfast. I also need to dash to the store and buy a phone card. I forgot to do it yesterday. I also need to pack so I’m ready to go very early in the morning. Hopefully, I won’t forget anything.

Bobbio, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you and the wife. Good luck with the house thing.

anyrose, are you feeling any better today?

rigs, how about you? Are you feeling better?

I will be Dopeless next week, except for meeting up with FCM andwelby. Oh, and susan too, if she can make it. How will I live without all of the goings on in here? I’m sure I’m going to suffer withdrawal.

I need to dash off and take a shower now, so I’ll be ready to go out to breakfast.

Okay, I just checked the weather for Alexandria, VA.

Someone did not talk to the weather people out there. Rain? Yep. Thunderstorms? Yep. It was SUPPOSED to be all warm and sunshiney out there. Now I need to pack an umbrella. Sheesh!

Shower taken, now I need to dry my hair and put my face on.

I know Bumba’s, scout’s, welby’s, and Exgineer’s real names. I have power!

Yawn. Last night was very late again. My fridge and pantry shelves are all tidy, because Quasi-Daughter was here, and that’s her idea of fun.

Today I should do some cooking for tonight and tomorrow. Exciting. I might make Bumba’s yummy rice thing.
