Today is departmental staff meeting day. It will be a luncheon meeting and I am in charge of procuring the luncheon. The Publix I usually get sammich rings from is too busy to get us sammich rings by 11:15. What to do? What to do??? Hmmm, there’s a Chik-Fil-A just up the street. Right, then, wraps and nuggets it is.
Speaking of TV shows (yes, you did, too), I have been watching Texas Ranch House for the past two nights on PBS. I get way too involved with the PBS historical reality shows. Some pretty spectacular scenery.
drae, MSND is my favorite Shakes play, too. I don’t remember the wet bodice part, though.
Yay for being done, rifty! Have you figured out if you can afford Amsterdam yet?
::looks around bewildered::
I’ve missed an awful lot by not reading carefully
**spatsie ** - “Spatial Rift 47, you’ve just taken your last final. Now what are you going to do?” ::sticks mic in spats’ face::
All you green thumbed gardeners, I’m jealous. I’ve been known to kill silk plants.
Has anyone heard from **Dottie ** this week. I was very upset by her post at the very end of last week’s MMP
Shoot I forgot to wish Mr. Lissar good luck. Good luck Mr. Lissar!
Fewer and fewer people are on my hit upside the head list today. I’m glad for that. Really. I have a feeling that three of them are going to require me going to their homes and standing over them while they fill out the dang paperwork I need so their precious little ones can go to work. Those particular three ain’t real with it themselves, thus proving sometimes the apple does not fall far from the tree, if y’all get my drift. The concept of sticking a signed piece of paper into a SASE and putting it in the mailbox is one that is just a half-step beyond comprehension, apparently.
Canada is just north of the United States, and a lot bigger. It is very cold all year round :checks forecast, sees high of 71F: populated entirely by penguins, polar bears, and Mounties, and everyone travels by canoe and dogsled. We just got our first five miles of paved road.
Perhaps I should clarify. I’m not actually done, exactly, quite yet. I’ve finished attending classes for my last undergrad semester, but I still have a bunch of work and one final exam left to take care of. I’ll be done done on May the 12th. Sorry to get you all so excited too soon. :o
Tupug - Alas, the financial information from Amsterdam hasn’t arrived quite yet, although the guy running it said I should get it this week. Meanwhile, since I accepted Dartmouth to keep my options open, they’re bugging me to do stuff that makes it really super official. It’s sorta like I’m standing on a really tall platform out in the middle of the desert. And there are a dozen chickens on the platform pecking at my heels, and there’s a helicopter hovering overhead, and I’m waiting for them to lower the rope ladder.
Okay, my life has now turned into a bizarro version of 24. :dubious:
Dunno how good this one is. For some reason the <del>lemon</del> creative juices just weren’t flowing last night. Anyway, now I’m off to get some breakfast.

Much like thaaaaaat South Africa, where lions and elephants roam the streets of Johannesburg…
Reminds me of that old game ranger yarn where this bunch of tourists are watching giraffe from a game viewing vehicle. One tourist gingerly taps the ranger on the shoulder and whispers, “Tell me, do giraffe hunt in packs?”
OK, well, I’m going to have one anyway since there’s really nothing you can do to stop me. See? They put me in a bad mood. Grrr.
Coworkers: I would really like your help on my reports. I welcome your input. But it’d be real frickin’ helpful if you’d provide said help BEFORE the meeting at which I’m presenting a final draft. Yes, I can go back and revise the final draft. But it’d be so much nicer if you’d give me comments, suggestions, etc. earlier in the process, first so that I have more time to incorporate the changes and second so I don’t look like a frickin’ fool standing up and getting attacked at these meetings. Thank you.
[/rant]
Good thoughts headed out to Mr. Lissar. I’d cross my fingers, but that makes it hard to type and I have 3 zillion changes to incorporate into my $#%&*@ report. (OK so maybe my rant didn’t really end up there.)
Don’t tell me what happened on Gilmore Girls last night. I couldn’t watch it so I taped it. Yeah, I taped it. I don’t have TiVo or any other cool, modern recording device so I still tape things. It works.
I am sooo tired today. Had an 0700 meeting that went well (if I could work with those people, I’d like my job!–they’re not looking for PT though).
Went to Home Depot to look at tile and paint etc. Also wanted to get some plants for the deck pots. I got in the register line and thought to look in my wallet.
Alas, the thing was bare.
So, came home to eat lunch and go back and get the plants…
Where is our 78 degrees today, Mr Weatherman? Humph.
And good luck to those seeking employment and those who have the day off and those who have finals etc.
Aww. I’m sorry. From now on, you can just direct all of your naked correspondence to my email address.
I’m sad that the computer lab computers don’t have Firefox… I keep trying to middle-click things to open in a new tab, and then I try ctrl-clicking sometimes, because I’m used to Anagramless Guy’s laptop, which has no middle button. ::
Also, aren’t finals next week? Yes? Then why did I have two tests today, and one tomorrow?
And thank goodness for iPods. This lab is full to bursting with people… and there’s a baby.
Just off the phone to my mother–man, but can she talk on the phone!
My ear hurts. #2 Plasterer has come and gone. He’ll fax us a quote today. Most likely get to the job next week. I think I want him to do it–he seemed alot more knowledgeable than #1.
#2 son is home with a 100.6 fever. No sooner did I post this AM then I was called to come get him. He is watching The Princess Bride --they’re having fun storming the castle at present…
