Things that go "HELP!!!!" in the night... my first MMP

It’s okay, Busman, I like Will too. I hear the new movie’s great, but I’ll probably wait for video, because I never go to the movies anymore.

MBG it makes as much sense as most of the stuff we prattle on and on about up in here. Make of that what you will. :stuck_out_tongue:

I have decided that people who park outside the house and HONK should be shot, preferably with a silencer in a muffled room, especially if it’s still dark out. Who’s with me?

I was in the mood for a bagel this morning, so I strolled down the street to City Bagel for a toasted sesame seed bagel and hot chocolate with marshmallows. They aren’t quite real bagels, but they’re better than most. Bagels are not baked donuts, people, they should be small, solid and heavy. It should hurt if you drop one on your toe. I remember when the Bagelry opened in Santa Cruz. Yummy! They had a specialty bagel, called the Slug, of course, that was only available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, they usually ran out by mid-morning, and they didn’t make any more that day. It was an everything bagel, except that it was hole-less. Then they became so popular, they moved to M/W/F, and then daily. Mmmm, if I were insane, I’d drive to Santa Cruz for a Slug for breakfast, lunch at Dharma’s for their fabulous brown rice with tahini, then on to the Pink Godzilla for a kosher roll (made with kosher dills) and a veggie tempura roll, and then on to Omei for a dinner of Lichee Pi Pa Tofu Balls, with Black Sesame Seed ice cream for dessert. Yum. Dharma’s used to be called McDharma’s but McDonald’s sued them, so they dropped the Mc. It’s a vegetarian restaurant that’s safe to take hardcore carnivores to, because the food isn’t “weird.”

I’ve liked Will Smith since his Fresh Prince days. I think the last movie I saw him in was Men in Black. That’s how often I watch movies.

So, Jah just how much caffiene did you consume before that post?

You win the award for this week’s best stream-of-conscious post.

I like Will Smith too.

He just seems so down to earth.

As I was channel surfing last night and he was on Oprah. He brought his two kids out too. His son is just adorable. I was shocked at how gray his hair had become though.

I’ll probably wait for his newest movie to come out on video.

I vote for the food trip, Jah. Food trips are fun.
I walked to work, but the cheques haven’t arrived yet. A good twenty-minute round trip. Not for nothing, though, because I picked up some nice loose tea as my antipenultimate (a great word) Christmas gift.

I’ve got to:

Wrap presents
Tidy
Make sure there’s a lot of already-prepared food in the fridge for the next five days
Pick up my cheque later
Buy something for Driving Husband
Tidying and food are the big things. It looks like something exploded.

Do you think little hot-packs (you know those neck warmers made out of fabric that you heat in the microwave) made in little squares, so as to be hand/pocket warmers, would be a decent gift? I’m running out of ideas for two of my Mum’s friends, who always come to Christmas dinner.

YES!

I love my microwave warmy-thing!!

What? That’s what I call it, stop looking at me like that.

LiLi that sounds like an excellent gift idea for those of you in more northern climes. I’d think they would be much appreciated and envied by others. Others will say things like, “Gee, I wish I had such a nice considerate friend as that LiLi is!” Plus, it could be the beginning of a bazillion dollar industry. You could make your own infomercial for LiLi’s Personal Pocket Microwave Hand Warmy Thingys. I’ll even sit up late to watch it. I promise.

You must have been channel Joss Whedon.

I’ve noticed that. Smokey flattly refuses to pick stuff up that I’ve dropped, even tho I’ve asked very politely

I like Will Smith, too. In fact, at one point I had a hot little crush on him. He’s a beautiful piece of man eye candy.

Yes I am home early. I felt fluey so I bailed. Since I’m home early enough for you all to read this (rather than all being fast asleep by the time I get to the 'puter) I will give you the answers;

The song is “It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas”
The show is “Here’s Love”
It’s inspiration is “Miracle on 34th Street”

Mmmmm, and ice-cold bottle of Stella artois at my desk.

At these parties we pick a charity and invite people to make donations. We usually ahve a big box to collect the stuff (there’s a list published a week or so ahead of time with what the charity has asked for) in one of the loading bays. The party started at 1 o’clock for employees only (guests and family start showing up after three o’clock), and we’ve already filled two big boxes.

 Hmmm, have you started drinking the Stella artosis yet?

We’re leaving in about 45 minutes for our Christmas party. Boozeless because we’re still considered on the clock. Ah well…

I swear I read that as “A nice bottle of Stella Artois around my neck”.

Right. Time for more chores.

Whyinhell does it cost $300 roundtrip to get to Ottawa by bus? It cost $60 a person plus half-price for a companion a couple of years ago! I can fly for less than that! Well, maybe about the same amount. Anyway, it’s expensive!

Phone rings. I press the answer button. Person on the other end is leaning on one of the phone keypad’s numbers.

Ow. My ear.

LiLi - I’ve noticed bus fares have skyrocketed. When my father and I used to visit my maternal grandmother at the nursing home it was only about $20 round trip for the both of us from Toronto to Hamilton. The last time we went, after her Alzheimer’s had advanced advanced to the more critical stages, it ended up costing us $60 – and there was only a couple of years between the two events.

It’s better than the Bud Light and Ice House that’s here.
Last year we had Yuengling.

The Daily Mail is purely for outrage, if she was really serious she’d have been in touch with the News of the World (if she wanted the story completely rewritten and extra bonus events included) or the Sun (if she wanted a nationwide campaign involving St George flags and something to do with “saving our boys”).

Personally I’d have settled for writing to my MP and demanding Questions In The House.

I am officially on leave - YAY!

Stoopit former boss didn’t come in today so I didn’t get my eval and I have no idea how I scored or what I’ll get. So I gotta wait till next year. Kevin, you’re on the naughty list!

Waiting for my sweetie to get home. We’re going to my current boss’ house for a party tonight - gotta leave here about 6, and I expect to leave there by 9. 'Cause I gots lots to do tomorrow.

Haze, you’re so close, yet so far…

That’s all for now. I need a snack. Off to forage…

Taken mere moments ago.
All the Stella is gone. I may make a Yuengling run.

Sean, you’re a cutie!

He’s even got the Dope open!

I just finished reading this very bad novel for my YA class that starts 1/16/07. I am going to do a plot synposis, because no way will I remember this very bad novel over a whole month.

In case you’re interested, it’s The Outsiders by SE Hinton. If you haven’t read it-don’t bother. Who knew there were greasers still in 1967? Who knew they said stuff like “gosh” ? Who cared?

Making chicken and rice tonight for dinner. Work all weekend. Money, I guess…

Meh. The Outsiders movie wasn’t bad if you like those campy 50s/60s gang flicks. My wife loved the movie, though.
