Things to do in Vegas when you're dead - a holiday MMP

Mornin’! It has been a nice couple of days meteorologically speaking. Mild temps, little if any wind. Some of the snow and ice even melted a tad. My kinda weather. Professionally, it’s been STOP RINGING! STOP. FREAKING. RINGING. AAAGH! But 'tis the season; bad weather brings good business and stupid people. I am still amazed at how many people buy a snow thrower or lawnmower, bring it home, put it together, pour in some gas, and start it up only to experience the wonderful sound an engine makes when you don’t fill it with oil. Or the number of people who bring their existing one out of storage and try to start it up, having left the old, unstabilized gas in there during the off seasons, and wonder why it won’t turn over. I am thankful that I don’t have to deal with these people directly (we supply parts to the dealers that do).

It’s still insanely busy today so far though. The space between the above paragraph and this one is an hour long. Don’t they realize I have responsibilities in the MMP? Honestly.

Spaz - Ha! Love those. I particularly appreciate the knowledge that Love = Covalent Bond. I knew there was physical science behind it.

Hank - Unmentionable initiative? That would be a vague plan hatched by the Underpants Gnomes.

Swampus - Hey, at least you’ve got all kinds of options! It’s nice to be in that kind of position. Sounds like the insurance one might provide some stability though. I like stability.

I should get back to work. This whole message has taken me almost three hours to write thanks to the constant interruptions. I’M DOPING! LEAVE ME ALONE!

Morning, all (still, barely). I’ve been a good girl this morning, working hard, and have been catching up with another post whenever I take another swig of coffee.

kai, Skiffman is going fishing for opelio? That man is CRAZY, in case you didn’t know already! And Tea is absolutely gorgeous, of course, in her beautiful golden angel dress!

I know there’s other people I wanted to say other stuff to, but no time right now, so hugs, boos, yays as appropriate. Don’t everybody have too much fun in room 304, now – we don’t want the whole floor complaining!!

So you have 21 little ones? :stuck_out_tongue:

Hi gt! ::bounce, bounce, bounce:: ~waving in that direction~ (which pretty much covers everyone since I’m in the West)

Haze, I don’t know how much cover I’ll provide, but you can hide behind me anytime.

::: waves while driving by :::

Keeeyyooote pics in here!

Today is turning out to be a bad day for no apparent reason. I have way too many things to do and all I feel like doing is sitting and crying. Tomorrow can’t come soon enough to try to regain some relative sanity. I’m almost done here at the shop and then I’m going to go take a nap and try this all again later.

kai nady Tea is gorgeous!

doggio thats just mean…

Photobucket is not co-operating today so I can’t upload Libby the Conehead at the moment.

Oh and still no heat - they did not call me back so I called them and was told not to call them they would call me when the crane was confirmed. I was furious. I am calling the warrenty people today to complain about them and I am going to report them to the Better Business Bureau. It was 34 degs when I left for work this morning this is ridiculous

That should have been “baby Tea” in the previous post…

But I just looked up idiot-ac-heat-r-us company in BBB and they have not responded to many complaints about them…Grrrrrrrr

Grandma kai, tea is a beautiful angel baby!

Hey, Special1, what about all those sweet nothings you were whispering in my ear the other night? Sloppy thirds? I don’t think you have the strength!

Did I mention the Snakes won both games this past weekend, ending a 6 game losing streak?

I know a certain MMPer whose Secret Santa package went into the mail yesterday…

Why am I 47 years old and still plagued with acne? Hot flashes AND acne. There ought to be a friggin law.

Off to get ready to go make the cat food… have a great day everyone!

I did sleep last night. Why am I so tired? Is the totally energy-less part of pregnancy resuming?
Also, does anyone know the proportions for rice krispy squares? I think I’ll make some this evening. With or without added caramel.

Potato focaccia, double batch of black pepper and ham, whole wheat, and egg bread rising. I think I’ll make monkey bread (little buns piled in a bundt pan, with nuts and brown sugar syrup) with the egg bread dough. I’ll start the chicken curry in a couple of hours. And I think I’ll put mozzarella and roasted peppers inside the focaccia.

I’m really tired. Not very sleepy, I just feel… tired. Weirdly exhausted.
(((Pie)))

Mindude I like stability too. That’s why the insurance gig is lookin’ so good.

LiLi a google of Rice Krispie Treats should result in an over abundance of recipes to choose from. There are a buncha different things one can do to 'em.

Ok, leafs raked and roast done. The roast is now covered in heavy duty foil and sittin’ on the kitchen counter coolin’ down before refrigeration. It smells sooooooooooooooooooooooo good! I injected it with apple juice and used pecan wood chips in the smoker.

Oh and I got an obscene phone call from ol’ y’all know who.

ETA: Feel better CuteyPie!

I have a cold. Bleh.

Nap soon due to cold. Dermatologist said my skin was in good shape considering I’m 45. Not much of a compliment, but I’m running with it…

LiLi–I was tired pretty much the entire last month of pregnancy, which should be against the Geneva convention. I hated the whole last month of pregnancy… Bread sounds good–it’s leftovers here tonight.

Actually, there is a good reason for this to be a bad day. My parents had their meeting with the creditors this morning for their bankruptcy. All along my dad has been saying we’ll do whatever is necessary to keep the house. We’re keeping the house. Blah blah blah. Today he came to my shop and said, “We’ll most likely be able to keep the house.” Subtle though it was, it’s the most terrifying thing that I’ve heard in a long time. We moved here when I was 3 and I lived on my own for about 2 years or so. In other words, this has been my home for almost 30 years. I can’t even fathom having to leave. Or my grandparents who are 78 and 79 having to leave. And what would we do with our 3 dogs?

I really am going to try to sleep now because being awake is too painful.

I’m wondering whether it’s because of the persistent cold, (which I didn’t give you! I swear!), or if it’s #486928690 of Those Pregnancy Things.

At least I can sleep through tinyninjachef kicking me. And I haven’t got sciatica, mask of pregnancy, insomnia, or a bunch of other nasties. In general the third trimester has been pretty good. So far.

Enjoy your nap. And I hope you feel better, after.

Oh, (((((Pie and Parents))))))

How much longer before you download?

The whole thing about it was that I dodn’t even know it was in town. Then I would have made all kinds of special plans and contingencies. I came across it accidentally - I think that added to the specialness of the situation.

That reminds me of a disc jockey friend of mine. One afternoon when he was on the air, they went to a traffic report. The traffic girl said that there was a disabled vehicle on the BErkley Bridge, and he interupted her to point out that it wasn’t disabled, it was mechanically challenged. Traffic Girl was thrown for a loop, and couldn’t stop laughing long enough to finish her spot.

Well, the GF and I have both gotten a day off together (well, half a day for me) that matches when City Hall will be open. So on December 21st I’ll be married for the second time. (Now why would I want to do this again after all the pain and agony from the first one?)

If I weren’t a bit naive, I just might think you were looking for me to prove you wrong about not having the strength…
But I am, so I’m not thinking anything of the sort  :halo:

Now there’s some really good news

I don’t know

… maybe it’s the loss of braincells from all that Israeli beer you partook of as a young’un

Cutie, I hope I won’t be proved wrong, but an only slightly less certain stance coming out of negotiations – on anything – than before going in could actually be relatively good news. I really hope I’m not giving you false hopes here…

ems – this business with the heat is insane  I really think you should demand some big-time compensation from the warranty people. Let them deal with the contractor back-to-back – the whole idea is you shouldn’t have to!

Congratulations, Sean!!! And Mrs. Factotum!!!
Due date is January 8th. Less than a month. Assuming he downloads on time. No bets.

When it’s all over will a little voice say “File Done”.

Congrats Sean. I think. Yeah, congrats. I guess. Congrats?

Bugger, damn, drat. I think my oven is having difficulty getting up to tep again. Halfway through baking! Stop it! We just got you fixed!

I know I’ll forget someone, but here goes:

Nelly’s pic cracked me up.

Tea’s pic made me wanna be a grandma - I’ll have to get the kids working on that when they move in.

Congrats, Sean! Second time’s the charm? It was for my sweetie - he and I have been together for 24 years now.

Hugs, smoochies, congrats, and gropes as appropriate, because I’m too doggone lazy to read back over all the posts again. Deal.

I came home to a bill for having our heating oil filled. 179 gallons. The bill was over $500 - choke-gasp-wheeze!! But in the mail, we finally got the refund back from the hospital - they overcharged us for our copay, so they send us $650 - yay - heating oil is covered. Then *FCD ** called after talking to our car guys. The van needed a new serpentine belt and a fuel filter and a brake adjustment and a few other little things - to the tune of something over $400. * Swell. And the Jetta, which we just spent $2000 repairing earlier this month has an oil leak around the oil cooler, and the strut bushings need to be replaced, and we should probably think about replacing the struts, too, and it needs 4 tires and an alignment and the bottom line for all of that is around $1400. So there goes my nice little bonus that was supposed to go for the wedding.

I think I’m cursed - just can’t get ahead.

At least the kitty sitter called me back, and she’ll be able to check on Brandy while we’re gone. And, um, I didn’t get hit by a meteor or anything. So there’s that.

<sigh>

Is it Friday yet?
