Okay, I went and watched a movie and slipped into a nap and so have accomplished little more than a shower and getting dressed. I was very careful in the shower, because I am the only one home, the meds make me woozy and I do not want to fall in the bathroom, especially getting out of the tub, and have to wait for the EMT’s…eeek!
Thank everyone for the compliments on Tea and her dress, The one thing I did not mention is that the other grandma got her a red velvet Santa-y kind of dress, which makes my daughter’s eyes roll. They are going in for family photos today, I am looking forward to those. And yes, all babies are adorable, and I go by the rule that the most recent baby is the cutest baby that ever was. Right now I have two I am waiting on, the tinyninjachef in January, and my daughter from another mother’s second child, also a boy, who is due in February. By the way li-li my son was due on New Year’s Eve and was born on January 8th. I’ve heard tell that the latter part of January is the best time to be born, wink wink!
Exactly! Which is why I use cream of chicken with herbs when I am making a quick cassarole!
Hey rigs thanks again for the compliment on the dress. What you don’t know is that I also bought her a white dress which ties at the shoulders with tiny pink satin ribbons, has a matching cardigan to wear over it, and both are trimmed with dainty embroidery and bright pink feather boa, with a matching headband; a gorgeous primrose yellow dress with a gauzy over dress with tiny embroidered flowers which will be her Easter dress, and do you have any idea how difficult it is to find a bathrobe complete with matching slippers for a four month old girl is? But find it I did! Thank you, thank you very much, just call me super gramma!
Mama Tigs he is looking for a cod and opie job which will take him to the Bering Sea for both fisheries. He has an option to fish for tanner crab around the island in January, but that is only a two week fishery, and quite frankly he needs to make some money to get us through halibut. Yeah, he’s crazy, but he has velcro feet when it comes to working on deck, and fishing is what he does. It’s not the easiest life for either of us, but hopefully once the last two kids are out of the house it will be easier to get by on what he earns during the Spring and Summer around the island.
Hi roo ::bounce bounce:: just sending bounces to the west doesn’t send them here! Pleas face north occasionally! lol!
mmmmms I had already translated nady Tea into baby Tea before I scrolled down! And even if you live in California it is too late in the year to be going without heat, that is awful. I hope that you are warm again soon.
I feel for you SCL, I am 47 and get lupus lesions on my face that often resemble acne, plus the hot flashes. What a drag it is getting old…name that song!
li-li you are packing around a little being who is siphoning off the cream of your nutrition. I advise taking several mini rests during the day, a nap is good as long as it doesn’t interrupt your normal sleep schedual. Eat heathily, drink lots of fluids, and put your feet up for a bit every day. It helped me through four pregnancies, there must be something there which will give you a boost!
Hey pie, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Congratulations Sean and Mrs. Sean-to-be! Skiffman is my second husband, and tomorrow is our 10th anniversary. Of course, he is also my first husband as well, so we have 18 years together with a minor two years when we were divorced, but he wouldn’t go away, so it doesn’t really count. Anyway, marriage is what you make of it, and I send you many wishes for years of bliss.
FCM being a gramma is easily the best thing in the world! When I hold Tea and look at my daughter there is such a feeling of continuity and contentment. All of the Oh My God What Have I gotten Myself Into feelings from being the mama are gone. And the rush of love that floods my heart is, well, indescribable. Oh, and fuel oil costs? I have the same size tank as you do, and it costs over twice that to fill it. Living in a state which has so much oil production going on, it makes me see red. Oh yeah, and don’t remind me about the fricken Exxon Valdez Oil Spill Settlement, they ought to be pumping our oil free of charge, imnsho!
Oooh li-li that sucks about the stove. If we were closer I would let you use mine, I would even help!
Woo hoo on your son being home herbs! I know how much I miss my older two kids having flown the nest, so enjoy his stay to the fullest!
Haze Olive is a very pretty kitty.
Well I need to prepare myself, as daughter #3 (who is 16) is bringing her new 18 year old but still in high school boyfriend home for the parental interrogation. Since skiffman is out on the water I guess I will have to go drag the shotgun out of the closet, we frontier wimmen have to be tough, you know! I need to put a good enough scare into him so that my precious girl remains sweet and wholesome! I’ll let you all know how this turns out!
