Things you did for the first time as a grown-up: an adult-erated MMP

I’m going to a concert tonight and I don’t know where I’m sitting. Apparently section 35 does not exist on any seating chart, including the official Ticketmaster one. There is a section 36 and 37 though.

Pizza – and for toppings on your pizza you want sketties and meatballs.

Problem solved within the stated rules.

(I used to have spaghetti sandwiches for lunch so I know there things  )

Not very happy right now. I just realized that my turn signals and hazards aren’t working. Apparently he forgot to plug something back in last night. Also, the new ignition is still sticking even after you take the key out.

The immediate problem of the turn signals not working was fixed for free!

I was in the right place at the right time.
Also, I have not been axe murdered thus far!!

:uncrosses eyes:

Took Gnat and baby to the science centre today and watched Gnat teleport around. Am tired. Time for sleep.
And thanks. I think the baby is cute and grumpy-looking. He has these eyebrows that always look serious and frowny.

Possible company for dinner tonight, Mr. Lissar at the dojo for two nights in a row, think we’ll have leftovers or pizza.

StickyBuns congrats on a thus far axe-murder free day!

Ruble interestin’ concept but I worked out a way to get both just not on the same day. Tomorrow night shall be sketties and meatballs and Firday shall be pizza night. Two dindin’s solved!

Dindin tonight is burgers and tater tots. Sometimes we eat like children at Chez Swamp.

I found out a good friend is havin’ surgery on Firday. A vein is bein’ removed from her leg. ICK! Anywho since she’ll be sorta incapacitated for a couple of weeks, several of us are makin’ dindins for her and her husband of the heat and eat variety. I’m startin’ off by makin’ chicken and rice. I figure that with some green beans and a sallit would be good. Heck, might even throw in a peach cobbler and some ice cream cause that would be medicinal after surgery.

It is a bit cooler out today. A bit means it’s low 90s with a heat index of around 98 as opposed to high 90s with a heat index of 110 or so. No danger of any icebergs floatin’ in the pool.

swampy, I was going to suggest pizza for lunch and sketties for supper. It is your day, after all!

Taters, I had written out an entire comment to you yesterday and I apparently didn’t click the correct button. Anyway, I was whining about having to take POSH training on Monday… again… I’ve been doing that stoopit training annually since 1980-ish. Shouldn’t I have earned a pass by now? Worst part - it’s in a conference room, not the easy-to-click-thru online version. ick

Supper tonight is whatever we forage. I ain’t cookin’. I’ll nuke leftovers, but that’s it.

And that’s all I’ve got. Just another freekin’ day in paradise…

How about going to Disney World as something I never did till I was an adult?
(Oh, and I inhaled like mad! C’mon, it was the 60s and 70s!!)

I have read all and retained only weight loss, cute kiddy pics, and Dipsey coming back.

It’s hot here even for Flawduh. It was 80 degrees at 4:30 when I took the dogs out this morning. And no rain in sight to cool things off.

swampy, I rescued a very small snake from my pool last week but it t’warnt a rattler so he got to go free.

Carry on.

Tupug

Hmmmm, I haven’t been to Disney World yet, but I was an adult before I went to Florida for the first time, even though my grandparents moved there fulltime in the 70s. Does that count?

Yay for no axe-murdering!

I’m looking forward to hearing about your assigment, Sticky.

Glad the birthday party went well, Rebo.

Today was lost in one long retirement reception blur. Morning was running around making sure everyone possible had signed the card. Then making sure that the retiree was kept out of the way (it was a surprise) and that food made it to the correct room. Then there was clean up

After that there was lunch, part of a meeting, then making sure that everything was put away.

OK…there was actually more than that, but really, it felt more like all retirement, all the time.

It’s hot out. Need to water. Also need to do some clean-up.

Back later.

GT

Anbody else wonderin’ just exactly what gt needs to clean up especially since she was so cryptic about it? :dubious: Mayhaps a hidden body amongst what would appear to be acres and acres of plants in her yahd?

:stuck_out_tongue:

Well, The Front Porchmade dinner, and it was YUM!! Just a few months ago, the place was called Corbel’s - it had only been open a couple of months when it closed and became The Front Porch. We never made it to Corbel’s, but we like the current incarnation. I got the chicken crepes and **FCD **got the smoked duck. Since we don’t indulge in adult beverages, we got out of there for just over $40, including tip. The only weird part was when the canned music played “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” - that was just a tad surreal…

We also ran to Corner Critter and got a fish that (we hope) will eat the pest anemones that are starting to go crazy in our tank. I just hope the other fish in the tank aren’t too nasty to the new guy.

Poor daughter is in a pickle - she has $7 in her account and tonight’s her night out. Luckily, she has a $25 gift card for Macaroni Grill, so she can get supper. And she gets paid this weekend, so she’ll survive. Unfortunately, the account that I can transfer into isn’t one that she has a card for. That’ll learn her!

Jon Stewart is on - I must go!!

MOOOOOOM there was a restaurant called The Front Porch in a town 50 miles north of the town I grew up in. Anywho, whilst I was still livin’ in ye olde hometowne, I got talked into goin’ to the Front Porch because the food was allegedly so good. So, I went. Their specialty? All you can eat catfish. The same all you can eat catfish I could have gotten like a mile from my then apartment.

Fascinatin’ story huh?

What a day. I think my car is just going to spontaneously combust soon. On the way home it started having another problem that could be something major. Ugh. The good news, I guess is that the Party Van was at TVLand being fixed today and it’s pretty much good to go so I could drive it if I had to. :shudders at the thought:

I’ve only got one more day of this ridiculous assignment and it’s on Friday. I almost wish it was tomorrow so I could just get it over with. Well… I almost wish that because after my lunches tomorrow, I get to go see TVMan and that’s a much better idea!!!

**swampy **- I learned you’ve got to know who’s recommending restaurants. Our realtor raved about a place down near where **FCD **works. It was very fussy inside, very pricey, and very mediocre. And it’s now out of business. I’m guessing our realtor had gone back when it was a nice place.

Well, I’s tahred, so I’m going to retreat to my chamber and knit till I fall asleep. It really should be Firday…

swampy! You promised you wouldn’t reveal my deep dark secrets!

Recycling is out on the curb and now it’s off to put stuff in baskets in the closet. Yeah, it’s pretty exciting around here.

GT

I worked ,I came home, I ate Bachelor Food.

what? no flirting with the eHarmony gal?

I sent her a message.

There is a new expansion for WoSW coming out in the fall; I’ve got two character names reserved for the new characters I’ll be making. But I just changed one of them. One of my current chars is named after my cousin: when he was little he couldn’t pronounce his own name, and my char’s name is that mispronunciation. Several of my guildies have taken to calling him a variation on tzatziki, claiming that they can’t remember the actual name. So I’ve now reserved that tzatziki variation, planning on thoroughly confusing the shit out of the guild when there’s two “tzatzikis” around :stuck_out_tongue:
One of my coworkers gave to one of the programmers the kind of instructions that warrant taking the writer out back and shooting them: rephrased but not shortened, “write a patch to get the program to make some calculations with lab analysis.” The programmer asked me for help, knowing I’m familiar with the lab sections of The Monster Program. Even if TMP didn’t have the most common calculations pre-programmed, that’s got to be the shittiest technical specs I’ve ever seen.

Happy Birthday, Swampy!

You old(er) fart.
