Things you have more than one of, just because you like them

I have about 30 fig trees growing in mostly 15 or 20 gallon pots. There are about 8 growing in 8 gallon pots. All of them are on drip irrigation, and are fertilized every 3-4 weeks with an organic top dressing 4-8-4 product. These trees range from 2 to 7 years old, and the actual trees are from 2 feet to 5 feet in height. I use several bonsai techniques to regulate growth and to obtain a pleasant appearing thick trunked result. I harvest from 30 to 100+ figs every year; some are dried, and some are eaten, and many are shared with friends. The footprint of my “orchard” is approximately 900 square feet. a

All of my trees except one have been grown from cuttings. send me a message if you want more info.

Dogs.

Girlfriends.

In series or parallel?

Thank you for all of that information. It was enough to start me down a rabbit hole. I’ll reach out if I have any questions later.

3D printed T13 figurines. I wanted just a couple to do a little stop motion filming and for posing for AI image generation, but I ended up with about a dozen of them, just because they are cheap to make and it’s fun to mix and match different colored parts to make different “characters.”

That’s pretty cool. Do you print them?

Speaking of…
Someone got me a Funko Pop for my birthday, and I bought a few more, then more. I’m not obsessive about it… yet… but I like them. Here’s my first one:

It’s gone up quite a bit since I purchased it.

My father has a 3D printer that he’s run out of ideas for, so I pay for the filaments and have him make them for me.

Well, in parallel the resistance decreases.

At least in theory. I’d be willing to bet, though, that in practice the resistance increases. Substantially.

Lucas…rabbit hole indeed! If you want to find all sorts of info regarding figs, I suggest that you visit www.ourfigs.com. On the opening page you will see a link to Fig Forums. A great source on that web page are the stickies listed at the top of the threads where members share info about their experiences and questions regarding figs. If you decide to go further you can find many of my contributions listed under the member name plant guy

Goof luck and welcome to the world of figs!

More than four, because I keep two 25’ tape measures in the tool/linen cabinet (one always finds its way into the garage so I need a backup), one 6’ tape measure in the kitchen drawer, two 25’ TMs in the basement (same reasoning as per tool/linen cabinet), one in the garage (obv extraneous considering others always end up there), one 6’ TM in my sewing case, and one 6’ TM in my purse, because I often have to measure stuff at stores. So 8. But I have a small house. Other people might need more.

And I also have numerous rulers and yardsticks, including those folding carpenter’s ones, because they’re cool and I loved my grandpa’s when I was a kid.

I think I’m up to 9 bikes.

Which seems to be okay, because my wife is up to 5.

That’s kind of how the math works 'round these parts.

Pipes. The tobacco smoking kind, that is.

I’ve probably got two dozen. All are perfectly smokable, and I do smoke them. Technically, I suppose I only need two (the idea is to let them rest about 24 hours between smokes, and at one smoke a day, I should only need two), but some are such works of art, that I can’t stop getting them if they attract my attention at the tobacconist’s.

Just don’t buy the record, it is scratched.

My nipples explode with delight!

Thanks for that. I’ve already looked into getting one (some?) locally. Very intriguing hobby - I would have never thought I would end up this interested. But I appreciate the nudge in this direction!
