Actually, My mom always warned me about cracking my knuckles, I loved cracking my knuckles.
“You’ll develop arthritis!”
Today, on cold, damp days, man my joints ache…
“If I pinch my nose with my fingers, close my mouth tight,
and blow real hard, I can make my ears bleed. It’s
not as cool as Superman’s X-ray vision, but it’s my own
special talent.”
My mom’s a diabetic, along with a whole bunch of other members of her family, and her saying was always “Don’t eat sugar, you’ll become diabetic.” Of course, sugar consumption has nothing to do with BECOMING diabetic, it only has an effect after one becomes diabetic. It used to scare me silly, but my dad convinced me that my mom was wrong. My mom doesn’t say that to me anymore; now she says, “Don’t eat so much sugar, it’ll be hard to give it up when you become diabetic.”
