My membership is up real soon but this a pretty cool message board I think I will become a member…I am not the only person in my family who likes it…it’s good for when you get bored…most message boards will not answer stupid questions or respond to personal problems but on this one they do which is cool. So I may be away for a short time until I get a credit card or if I find another way to pay but I am most likely coming back to the boards. Peace
How many people are 25 years old and under on this board?
Take a look in the About This Message Board forum. There’s a sticky or two about alternate payment methods, such as sending a check or other form of payment to one of the members who would then use their CC to pay your fee.
A large proportion of members are over 25. I’m 38.
It’s really quite hard to put down a number of people under 25 on this board, but it should suffice to say that a fair majority of them are above 25 and working.
That said, there are quite a few young’uns here, it’s just that without all the 3L337 5P34K and LOLOMFG L8er d00d!!!1111oneoneoneeleven, you can hardly tell if someone is under 25.
Although I’d like to credit that to intelligence rather than board atmosphere, but hey - it works.
I think there is a pretty good age distribution on these boards, but that is off course anecdotally. We seem to have as many threads on mid life crisises as we do on ‘help me pick a university’. I think the majority seem to be between their late 20s and 30 somethings.
Some of my assumptions about gender, race and age have been shaken by this message board – a lot of times you really can’t tell from context. Several times I’ve been very surprised to learn that a poster who seems old and wise is actually quite young.
I hope you’ll join us. Since the subscription fee went into effect, we’re being extra nice to newbies.
I agree with lainaf - often you can’t tell much about a person’s age (or gender, in some embarrassing cases :o ) by their behavior on the Board. Take the plunge, I say.
What’s scary is, I almost said I’m under 25. I’m not. I’m clearly having a little trouble adjusting to the idea that I turned 25 several years ago. :smack:
I take offence to that. I am under 25, but I NEVER use that chat lingo. It has gone way too far. I am growing up too fast. I complain about how teens act, and I AM a teen.
