Thinking of Tubadiva

I miss her too. :sob:

I remember her fondly.

But you started the thread can’t you try a little harder to expand on that thought. BTW You need an image hosting site to upload a pic.

Aaah, Jenny. Yes.

I believe this is what OP was going for…

:sleepy::sleepy::sleepy::sleepy::sleepy:

I was thinking about her just yesterday.

Just by coincidence, last night I came across her obit from the Chicago Sun-Times. Have no idea how i stumbled on it:

Thanks so much for posting that. What a great obit. It bright a tear to my eye all over again.

I just came back after 10 years or so, and read the in memoriam thread. Quite sobering. A lot of the ones I remembered were there. And it’s really changed the vibe of the place (understandably).

I would have liked to have more to do with a lot of those who have left us, but at the time I was new to message boards and overwhelmed. I regret not jumping in a bit more while I had the chance.

Oh ya, that would be our Jenny. Love her and still missing her like crazy.

I wasn’t posting around the time she passed. Did we ever end up getting some school a tuba in her memory? Great idea.

We raised enough to donate TWO tubas.

Such a kind heart with an extraordinary amount of patience. She always had time for me as I assume she did for others.

This charming ca. half-hour documentary aired many times on my local PBS station. It’s quite charming, and features the First Gentleman of the tuba and an ensemble he directed, and also paid a visit to a brass instrument factory. I can’t find it online for streaming, but you could probably get the DVD at the library.

And I think that’s actually a baritone or euphonium in the picture.

Miss both her and Lynn Bodoni a lot, and think of them regularly. Two of the nicest people I never met in person, and still wish I’d done so.

As long as we’re reminiscing and making ourselves sad, I miss Colibri, too. :butterfly:

Yes it was. I couldn’t get it to post here.
