I know this is taking a ridiculously long time, but Berklee College of Music, alma mater of the late Jenny “TubaDiva” Paradis, longtime SDMB administrator, informs me they have now concluded an agreement to purchase two tubas, which will be engraved in her memory. This is made possible by the generosity of members of this board, who contributed to a GoFundMe campaign that raised the money last year. The BCM development office further advises me that once the tubas have been delivered, they’ll arrange a Zoom call to celebrate the event, to which SDMB members and others close to Jenny will be invited. I’ll let you know when I hear more. Thank you all for your patience.
Thank you for the update.
That’s great. Thanks!
Excellent! Thanks for the update and for the efforts, Ed!
Thank you, Ed. That’s great news.
Fantastic! Thanks for the update.
Thanks for doing this, Ed. For those that don’t know, Berklee started in 1945 and is the top modern music conservatory in the world. The list of famous and well regarded musicians who studied there is too long to list here. This is a fantastic tribute.
Here’s a link to the GoFundMe page with a nice picture of Jenny.
Jenny was so cool and so nice. I am glad to see the memorial is happening. She deserves to be remembered.
Excellent. Thank you.
Thank you, very glad to see that you found a way to make it come together!
She was a Lady.
So amazing. Lovely to see this happening.
Great news! Thanks for the update, Ed!
Thanks. Although we are saddened to see Paradis lost, perhaps we can take comfort that there is now a pair of dulce sound? TubaDiva had a lot of class.
Dang it. I had forgotten about that fund. It was posted when I had just lost my job and I didn’t contribute when I became employed again because I have a memory like, well, a river in flood.
What a wonderful tribute to my friend and doppelganger. I miss you, Jenny. We all miss you.
Awesome news!
I’ll donate half of my donating to you, so you can be a part of it. Good on ya!
@Snowboarder_Bo, that is kind of you.
How could I do otherwise? She was our humble TubaDiva.
