Third Republican Debate

I could see it. He has a reputation for having a bit of a temper and being feisty although not always in a good way. He’s basically stuck to a Reagan-esque campaign of not attacking other Republicans so far. He did show pretty significant guts though in the first debate with his SSM answer. That was not a safe, play to your audience, answer for a GOP debate. I could see him choosing to take off the gloves. I’ve been wishing/hoping he did before this.

Of course his body language tends to come off like a stop motion animation figure. Who knows if he can pull it off effectively. I hope he at least tries though.

John Kasich
[ul][li] Signed into law an anti-abortion bill that includes mandatory ultrasounds,[/li][li] made Ohio’s tax code more regressive,[/li][li] is “unsure” what causes climate change,[/li][li] championed a union-busting bill which barely passed the GOP-controlled state Senate,[/li][li] supports a Constitutional amendment to repeal jus soli citizenship,[/li][li] decimated funding for Ohio’s public schools and believes local boards should decide whether to teach evolution or intelligent design, and[/li][li] has a donor base more right-wing than that of G.W. Bush or Rick Santorum.[/li][/ul]
Yet in today’s GOP Kasich does indeed represent the voice of the Party’s sane moderate wing! :smack:

What a GOP we’ve got today! :dubious:

I predict Trump will get right in Carson’s face about something. Carson will look like he just smoked a marijuana cigar. Kasich won’t go bananas as some predict. Bush will appear shocked that he has to share a stage with these clowns. Rubio will get thirsty. Fiorina already played the victim card vs Trump, she won’t be able to do it again and will have little impact. Paul will be out on his own in foreign policy. Christie- I don’t know if he’ll even get enough airtime to be memorable. The whole show will only make the Democratic debates look all the better.

The big show tonight will be Trump v Carson. Trump hates being second to this guy and he’s going to hit him hard and often.

[QUOTE=BobLibDem;18811120 Paul will be out on his own in foreign policy. [/QUOTE]

What are the chances Rand Paul shows up stoned to the BeJesusBelt? He’s a big fan of legal weed, he knows he has no shot at President, and he’s in serious danger of losing his Senate seat in KY as well.

May as well go out in a blaze (no pun intended) of glory.

I came in here ready to post pretty much the same thing: He’s mad as hell, and he isn’t going to take it any more!! It could be a bold move to call out the clowns, but you have to be sure you don’t just sound like a whiner.

The Democrats are eating our lunch as they discuss real issues, and we’re here sniping at each other for being the wrong religion! *

Maybe Kasich is seeing himself getting nowhere, and has decided to join the crazies getting all the poll numbers. I’m looking forward to tonight being a crazification contest.

But which candidate will fill the Cousin Oliver role?

I predict for as much as Trump and Carson go at it, both will team up to take their biggest threat, John E. Bush, out for good.

Clearly it’s Trump.

Joking aside, I am seriously nostalgic for a Republican with Richard Nixon positions. Can you believe how far the party has moved from him and Ike? I mean, Watergate and all Nixon is probably better than anyone that will be on the main stage tonight. Ike would be a gift.

I’m expecting Trump to go hard after Rubio for the whole “not doing his job” thing.

Except for the secret bombing of Cambodia etc. and enemies list stuff, I assume. But you’re right, domestically. The wage-price freeze to stop inflation, the Environmental Protection Agency, OSHA, the Clean Air Act, his proposed private health insurance mandate, universal access to health care insurance, federalization of Medicaid, affirmative action, the Equal Rights Amendment … pretty radical stuff, really.

It is really a shame Richard Nixon was such a paranoid dick. There was a lot to like, going to China should be added to your excellent list.

Neither do any of the others, though. You’re right, the “news” channels have to pretend that there’s a horse race there, even though there isn’t.

Lindsey Graham got in a funny in the undercard debate.

Paraphrasing: “Bernie Sanders went to the Soviet Union for his honeymoon, and never came back.”

That’s funny? Or is it just hearing a dumb joke in that voice of his?

Uh oh, Pataki just went and dropped some sanity.

I think it was Graham(I was listening, not watching) said he knows for a fact that Hilary’s server was hacked and there’s all sorts of secrets floating around the world.

Funny how that never came up in all the hearings. Because that would sink her for sure if they have proof.

I’m not saying the lady looks good or bad it’s just, until she speaks, you kind of wonder what the cryogenically frozen person is doing there.

I don’t want to miss anything, but I can’t stand to listen.
