It starts this evening. AMC had a marathon yesterday.
Does anyone think Lori will survive? She’s pregnant, and shows hate to kill off pregnant women, but they did let a child get killed and zombified. It’s just that I dislike the character of Lori so much.
Will Carl be let off his leash and get some respect?
Mishon’s introduction is what worries me. I hope this doesn’t deviate too far from the believability of the show (I know, right?). I know this is based around some comic books which I haven’t read, but one of the things this show has managed to capture that makes it so good to me is the way a disaster affects the relationships between people…and all that tension. Its like the zombies are really secondary.
I guess what I am trying to say is that I hope the show doesn’t get too…comic book-ey. Which is fine for a movie like the Avengers, but for me it will ruin what is otherwise a great tv show.
Lori can go. Please kill her. She cannot die fast enough nor gruesome enough for my tastes. And the next gig that actress gets should be greeter for Walmart.
Lori hasn’t wrapped her head around the fact that civilization has collapsed, humanity is back to wandering “tribal groups,” and that she’s no longer Former Prom Queen Suburban Susie Houswife.
Rick has apparently, finally (as of the end of S2) stepped up to be the real alpha-male Tribal Chief (although I still forsee lots of middle-class bourgeois “angst” coming from him, accompanied by pained looks and lots of moral navel-gazing).
Andrea probably comes closest to being alpha female.
Darrel is the real wild card; being out from under the shadow of asshole big-brother Merle has let him finally grow on his own, and make his own decisions about the kind of person he wants to be; in this regard, being around decent men like Dale, Glen, Rick, and Herschel has been good for him.
But from the previews, it looks as if Merle is going to make more than a hallucinatory appearance this season. What is Darrel going to do? Succumb to the shadow of all the years he spent growing up and being twisted and manipulated by Merle? Or take a stand?
Glen has the making of the Crafty Warrior. Not a blood-and-guts berserker, but a real thinker. He’s been in some scrapes, seen real violence up-close-and-personal, and now has a serious relationship with a woman he loves. I expect to see good things out of Glen this season.
T-Dog is another wild card; there hasn’t been much character development for him at all, so anything can happen with him. I think it would be a real shame to leave his character as a useful appendage this season.
Since every single episode has been worse and stupider than the one before it, I expect season three to be pretty humorous. It’s the only result possible at this point.
This show seriously, seriously broke my heart… then it killed my dog, keyed my truck, burned down the farm, pissed in the ashes, and salted the earth.
Anybody know of the legitimate online methods to watch and their prices? iTunes has a nicely understandable description ($42.99 for HD season), but Amazon won’t tell me how much money they’ll want or when it’ll be available, and I’d also be interested if anyone else offers it.
I’m enjoying this show quite a bit. There have been some bad episodes, but overall I think it’s still quite good. Better than Hell On Wheels, and I’m still watching that!
Early on in this episode, I was thinking that maybe the baby is born a Walker. Now they want us to think that might be the case.
I liked this episode. Junior is all growed up, and I like the way they’ve made the Survivors’ existence hand to mouth. The prison turns out to be not so good an idea, especially for Herschel. I forget what caused a normal person to turn into a Walker. It’s not just a bite?
Later on that issue was addressed in the episode. Lori was worried that if the baby died inside her it might claw it’s way out like the “chest burster scene” in Alien.
I want it to be a still born zombie baby that gums Lori to death. Then Rick drives a spike through her just to be sure.
Then Carl shoots her. Just to be sure.
