Bread is baked, angel food cake just came out of the oven and salsa is halfway made.
I decided to cheat on the recipe that I posted. I bought a boxed mix of Angel food cake, grated teh chocolate pieces to put in there and mixed it all together and baked it. Once it cools I can do the chocolate topping. I will let ya’ll know how it tastes.
Next up after salsa is done is chocolate pumpkin cupcakes to be froze.
Yeah, I agree. I had to do some online security training <yawn> and then I tried to finish up a project I’ve been messing with for weeks. But, of course, my system kept crashing. I did get it all uploaded for review and I sent an email to the coworker who reviewed my last - hope he can manage this one.
I also got me a good deal today. Another coworker was ridding her home of Longaberger and other baskets. I scored a pair and a trio of nesting baskets with cloth liners - for a total of $10!! No idea what I’m going to do with them, but at that price, I had to buy them. No way would I spend $125 for a Longaberger pic-a-nic basket. I don’t get the appeal. I didn’t get Beanie Babies, either.
So, it’s almost Firday! YAY! But I’ve got to take Scruffy and nameless cat to the vet alone. Poor **FCD ** is going to be working way late again, thanks to having to do the work he’d assigned to another engineer 8 weeks ago. Had he known then what a waste of oxygen she is, he could have had it all done before Christmas. But he wanted to give her another chance to prove herself. And she did. Just not in the way he hoped. So he’s going to be putting in another long-ass day and I get to deal with 2 critters all alone. Thank goodness for the cat carrier.
Then I have to think about supper.
I need a wife. Or a staff. Or a staff of wives. And a drink.
Well I escaped work at 6.30 but doing so meant I cleared my entire to do list so boss will be happy with me. It is now Friday evening as far as I’m concerned, although my lie ins don’t commence until Sunday as I have things planned in the morning tomorrow and Saturday.
Watched the “Kenny dies” episode of Southpark and it was actually really sad, I was actually touched by it. Still, that means that Butters now gets to be in the front row and I prefer him as a character so I’m not that unhappy (and he comes back again later so not a big deal).
I have had a lousy headache all afternoon, and frankly, I’m getting sick of it. Why does my head pick a lovely sunny day to decide to throb and throb? Nothing I’ve done has helped it; now I’m debating a nap. What the heck, it can’t hurt, right? Naps are always good. Except that I’m waiting on word about whether or not I’m needed to do some of the congressional [del]drivel[/del] hearings that are on for today. It would be nice to know.
Cute kiddy, SO!
I know there was something else I was going to comment on, but it’s already leaked out of my aching head. So I’ll go back to sitting here doing not much of anything. At least till I decide it really is naptime, no matter how much work I have here to do. Or not do, more realistically.
I’m thinking we need to call our cat B&E for Breaking and Entering! I just watched him open the coat closet in the hallway. It’s a fairly heavy sliding mirrored door, and he managed to slide it open and explore its innards. He also (did I mention it earlier??) opened the door to the small guest room earlier this week. How long before he raids the pantry?
I can tell you they sure behave the same  Silly could be a cat-burglar – nothing not is a cosed cupboard is “Silly-proof”; and even then it’s not asure thing.
And he loves pushing things off surfaces… I’m starting to think maybe he really is part Bengal.
Sounds very Bengal to me, and yeah, I noticed a similarity right off the bat. My evil one just tried to steal the strainer out of the sink. Made a gawd-awful mess when he dropped it.
Hardly - I’ve been watching Southpark for the best part of eight years but it’s always been patchy and intermittent, but now I’m watching them systematically via dvd.
To me, the Heinz Dilemma is whether it’s Ketchup or Catsup, and whether or not it needs to go in the fridge.
My mind has been mush-ified with certification review. Stuff like “ARP and RARP map between which of the following?” and “Which of the following statements pertaining to the Bell-LaPadula is false?” can turn your brain into mush quickly. Two weeks from now, I’ll be completely submerged in the stuff. I’m looking forward to it with a mix of excitement and dread. Dreading the idea of six days at ten hours per day of review, followed by a six hour long exam, but excited at the idea that if I pass the exam, I won’t have to do it again.
So ugly it’s theftproof and the whole neighborhood knows you’re about to drive it because the door opens with a wheezy skeee-rohnnnk? That’s the exact sort of truck I wanted to get for dump runs, trips to Home Depot and for the inevitable “Can you help me move?” I’m not sure how we wound up buying a brand-new truck instead.
Our new tenant has been knocked out with a sinus infection as well. Literally the day before he moved in with us, he got his new member packet from Kaiser, and had utterly no clue how to play the Kaiser game. I used to have them, so I was able to point him at some basics like “Call the advice nurse and get a same-day appointment with whatever doctor’s available.” He did that, was pronounced well and truly infected and given Keflex. The stuff knocks him out so badly, I’ve only seen him for about a minute all combined since Monday morning. Sleeping tenants are quiet tenants - almost like not having one at all.
