Here’s the only picture I have of KeithT’s old Bengal, Nikita. She’s going after a Dorito there. Yes, she was a really tiny Bengal, only weighing about 7 lbs.
Hmmm, sorry - no pull of fur and purr. It’s probably because of the density and thickness of the no pets clause in my buildings terms and conditions acting as a barrier.
I’ll try to post pics of me wearing my new hanbok (Korean dress). I’ll be wearing it on Saturday for the Lunar New Year gathering I’m having at my place (just some close friends and some Korean dumplings).
FCM, it sounds like you’re going to have to Bengal-proof your house! Your guy sounds like a real troublemaker! Fun, though.
I really really really want a kitteh. That’s one of the major reasons I want to find a new place come spring. I also want a Clumber Spaniel or a lab, but neither are really a dog for a small place. So a kitteh it is. Once the mountain closes a lot of people are going to leave town and places will become available.
Back from the vets. Scruffy has an appointment for a teeth cleaning in 2 weeks. That’s the only bad thing the the vet had to say. She got her shots and she’s good to go for another year.
Sneaky kitteh got a clean bill of health, too, but he was *not * happy. He’s hiding in our bedroom ignoring us.
Just gotta get thru Firday. I am so ready for a weekend!
Another long day; we had Chinese for lunch (and accidentally celebrated the New Year), which provided a nice break (we went to the nice Chinese buffet, which requires driving to get there). My fortune:
If you can’t decide up or down,
try moving across.
bbs2k: has anyone ever told you that you’re rather mischievous?
I could use a wife as well. Or maybe I should just invite people over more often. (Having brother stop by actually forced me to do a couple of chores I’d been putting off till the weekend.)
Need to work on Valentines. My overseas ones will be late, I fear.
'Ullo, all. Am tired. Work was ok. A certain subset of workers (ok, 2) did not speak to me all day. I went in at 0900. I am on the schedule for 0900. Apparently I’m just supposed to “know” when I should be there at 0800. This is not my assistant manager or NM, these are co-workers, none of whom confronted me with this today. I found out later from another co-worker, after the others had gone home.
Grown women are interesting, no?
Am going to bed soon. I am reading the most terrible book (almost of all time, truly). It is called These Three Remain (I think) by some chick from Idaho. It’s part of the Mr Darcy trilogy–the story told from his point of view. Good god–the set up, the dialogue, the characterization, even the language, is Just So Bad. It feels like the author read a few Georgette Heyers and decided to make some money. Seriously, this is one awful book. I am page 147, after skimming most of it. I am reading it, fascinated by the sheer badness. Anyone ever read Scarlett? This one is worse…
Hello everyone. Yet another busy day at work, but I’m finally home.
Hubby stayed home today because he managed to jack himself up at the Y last night. He was running around the track and felt his tendon just sort of “pop”. On top of that, he rammed his knee into a piece of workout equipment and has a huge knot on it. He wasn’t able to move around so well this morning, so he just stayed home.
We had actual blizzards in the mountains with 89 MPH winds. It was rather windy down here too, with gusts in the 50 MPH range. Things have calmed down somewhat now though.
I have country style ribs in the crockpot and shall soon commence fixing up some sort of side dishes to go with them.
Cute animal pictures everyone.
I don’t know how, but I’ve managed to drop some weight. Not a lot, but enough that I’m back into a pair of pants I couldn’t wear in December. This makes me feel good.
I guess I’ve got nothing much else to say. I’m hoping to start working my TDY orders tomorrow through the STOOPIT DTS system. I’ll be in San Antonio next month for training and need to get the orders done, since I’ll be gone for two weeks of jury duty starting the 19th of this month. I’ve made my hotel reservations, but I need to get my flight arranged and hopefully a car rental as well.
I miss my rodents. I want a new pair of gerbils, but I have no room for them. I have to wait until Bobbye Froggye or Hansel Chameleon dies to get space to put gerblettes. I don’t wanna lose my Froggye and 'Meleon either. So I have to wait for more rodents.
Just for the hell of it: The first time I saw the Rockies (Almost four years ago, trip with Gay Boyfriend and Complicated Roommate across the US by train to San Francisco, that’s when the Ill-Fated Engagement happened. The mountains were worth it.)
Work crazy with lots of meetings. I am finally headed home but I am not sure what to have for dinner.
I still have some of my pasta bake left but I have eaten it 4 nights in a row and one lunch time this week. By the time I get home it will be to late to make anything as I won’t get to eat till closer to 9 then!
hmmmmmmm I don’t want fast food but that seems to be all there is left!
I love love love Whole Foods Market. I work right next to one and although I believed that they were a bit pretentious to begin with there preprepared food is fantastic.
Sign me up! I’m a snob!
I anticipate this will become part of my daily routine. Some of you who follow me will know that I’m a young bachelor living in a city (I won’t say which one because I value my privacy), so that means I’m usually just getting dinner in the form of take out.
Last night I had a caesar salad, and tonight I am enjoying a nice assortment of maki rolls, both salmon and tuna. The hot food there looked fantastic, but I had been in a sushi mood since I woke up. Tomorrow night I will enjoy some of the hot food, would you care to hear about it then?
