This day in History - MMP

Hello all - first time MMPer, hope I’m welcome.

Being 28 the Carpenters were a bit before my time, but I’m familar with the impact that Karen’s death had on eating disorder awareness.

Happy Monday indeed! Ticking things off my to-do list at work and looking forward to my weigh in with weight watchers as I know it’s going to be a goodun.

Hmmm, now that I’ve actually read the OP I am in protest of posting here. You see, my jolly demeanor lead me to post here last night while I was a bit drunk.

You see, I live in Boston, so I was quite liquored up and uninhibited when I was dropped off at home last night. It’s all rather depressing for us kids on this side of the States you realize.

Someone please post some cat pics or something. I need the distraction.

First of all, let me say to **not-Dobby ** that I am definitely NOT a domestic goddess. Also, just because you don’t know, TVMan is my boyfriend, not my husband. We live about an hour apart and he is legally blind and doesn’t drive so I travel back and forth a couple times a week. Some weeks I wish he were my husband, other weeks I’d like to cut out his heart with a spoon. (Obscure movie reference that I’m not even sure that I fully remember.)

Second, I’m sorry, but I have never, ever liked the Carpenters. I feel about them the way that I feel about gefilte fish. Waaaaay to sappy for me.

Welcome to the MMP Illumi! Glad you could stop by. Stick around and don’t forget to send some *high-quality * chocolates to FCM.

Here are a couple of cute dog pics for you, beebs.

Hi Noonie! (Didn’t want you to feel left out!)

This morning I feel extremely blah. This is probably TMI, but I feel like I’m in the PMS zone and it seems like I’m there about 2 1/2 weeks per month. It’s really getting kind of old.

I should be doing something productive instead if kibbitzing, oh well.

These feelings are not the same?

I knew I could count on you

Oh, wait… doesn’t say you want to marry me, though…

(goes back to corner and sulks with beebs)

On this date in 2005 my son was born.

We celebrated on Saturday with presents, a cake and and outbreak of chickenpox.

Heh.

See above quote tag. We’re already married. How could you have forgotten?
:: pushes Noonie out of the way and goes off to sulk with **beebs ** herself::

Ugh. I didn’t have chickenpox until I was 19. Horrible, simply horrible. Happy Birthday to AlesSon!

Welcome to the MMP, neighbor!

And Happy birthday to Alesson

ETA - Cutie, you beat me to it and then left me in the lurch? A pox on both your houses!! :stuck_out_tongue:

I hope it’s just the kid who got it? A little bit young, maybe (ideally, they should be about 6 or 7 so they can understand the “don’t scratch!” bit), but it is good to get it over with!

Well, guess that means I’m available now… Boo, you here?

Why do flies
Suddenly appear
Everytime you are near
Not like me
I want to be
Away from you

Why do birds
Fall out from the sky
Everytime you walk by
Not like me
I want to be
Away from you

I’m not a Carpenters fan either but I do think Karen Carpenter’s death was tragic.

Mornin’ Y’all! Good OP there Rebo!

I’m up and caffienatin’. I’d rather be in bed though. I think. I have a sorta case of the don’t wannas today. I’ll get over it though.

Hope everybody has a good day or had a good day as the case maybe.

Later Y’all!

I’m here, Lunch, did you want something or are you pining now that Pie has run off with Beebs?

Happy birthday to AlesSon but sorry to hear about the chickenpox outbreak. Hope you’re not all itchy!

Good morning- interesting list! The last MMP was such fun, and everyone so nice I thought I join again.

To whom do I send the chocolates, again?

Feb 4, 2008- a certain someone has to go to work…

The two options are mutually exclusive? I don’t think so…

I realise you’d be pining for me constantly, it’s just the way the world works! So, I’ll see you in our corner of 304 with the usual accoutrements?

Yup.

And we can let other people have the thread back, and wonder where we’ve gone, in the middle of (our) day…

I’d have thought that was obvious - it’s my Lunchhour!

And it’s being served as a BooFae:wink:

You can’t beat me at bad puns! :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, it’s just the Little Prince (my wife and I both had at five years old). He seems to be doing fine so far - tfu tfu ftu - and he isn’t even scrathing that much. He’s mainy bummed about not being allowed to go to gan (preschool), but he’s also overjoyed to have mommy and/or daddy home with him full time.

I swear to God, though, one more episode of Young Einstein and I’ll… well, I’ll probably just develop a splitting headache.

Time to put Dig-Dig-Doog on!

I just ***know ***were going to have to start translating our in-jargon at some point… After we finish taking over the MMP and launch our program to take over the world, though…

If Mama Cass had given Karen Carpenter her sandwich, both would be alive today…

Last night was the first time I was ever happy to lose a bet. I was rooting for the Giants, but had $5 on the Pats…

Blurgf. Off to forage for caffeine and brekkie.

I woke up the morning of the SATs with the pox (when I was junior in high school). Never been so sick before or since.
