Hi, LiLi! How’s mommyhood going, other than the lack of sleep stuff?
Now there’s a suggestion I can support! After a cuppa something called “ZOOM” and a cup of french-press, I’m still foggy.
Invisible Tenant was once again, almost entirely invisible and silent last night. I could start to like this.
**Bobbio ** - Challenging them for proof of service is a good start. I’d like to think your local Rules of Court require proper service for a change of time or venue, especially when convictions in absentia are on the docket.
Garbage bowls? Good lord that woman is insane. What’s wrong with moving the kitchen trash can over to where you’re working? I don’t live in a big Food Network TV kitchen, so I don’t have countertop space to waste like that.
Off to find more awakeness…
Only half naturally. (Depends on the light. I try to help it along as a warning to others.)
Bobbio, I would be decapitating some clerks. Is there any way your wife can contest the conviction?
When I was a SpazKitten living out in the boonies, my mom had a green plastic bowl with a lid that she put food scraps in. When it was full, the scraps went in the compost heap out back. That bowl had a distinct smell to it. I bet Rachel Ray’s garbage bowl has that same smell, only worse. If it doesn’t, then it should.
I missed some excitement yesterday. When I left work to go home, I saw traffic backed up like it’s never been. I decided it was time to get some Mexican food and wait out the chaos. From where I was, I could only see a couple of cranes down at a major intersection. They’ve been fixing the train tracks through town lately and I figured that’s what was going on.
Found out what it was when I came in to work this morning: Bus wreck. :eek:
She drains cans into that bowl, too. I don’t know about y’all, but I wouldn’t want to dump that bowl with lots of liquid into my trash bag. So I’d have to drain it first - what is the point? I just use the sink, since it’s next to my work area. Or the thin plastic produce bags. The trash can gets in my way if I drag it next to me.
People will buy anything. :rolleyes:
ETA: That is some wreck!
she doesn’t do anything with that bowl - her staff of lackeys cleans up after her. I feel for them - having to listen to that insipid giggle several times a day.
Pretty hard to blame them for eating the crackers during the shoot.
:: Pops in to thread:::
Happy Friday!
:::goes back to work:::
At last, the week from hell is over!! Actually, it was more like the day from hell. Some training that was OK but could have been better. More failing software - I got 2 techs to come see my issues, and one offered an alternate way of accomplishing what I need to do. By that time, it was quit o’clock, so I’ll have a go at it on Monday.
Unfortunately, **FCD ** has to work all weekend, so we won’t be going anywhere or doing anything. Ah well, I’ll chill.
**taxi ** - **FCD ** said the cat yelled at him in the car on the way home, but he waited to exact his revenge. He managed to open the pantry and climb to the top shelf, as evidenced by the bottle of corn oil which was on the floor (plastic, thankfully.) He also got back into the hall closet, then he knocked a bunch of stuff into the kitchen sink. Yep, he’s a piece of work. Lucky for him he’s cute!
Ugh. Having bad day. Need drink. Hate world. Lost pronouns and articles.
I the a it are a um found the a of er the a in at on them. See?
What happened? You sound truly depressed!
A warning? Like a Siren Song?
Bobbio – I’d think there might be some interest in this scam by the 4th estate… and I wasn’t thinking of contesting the plea; rather contesting the “in absentia” ruling, which is what I gather got the additional $120 tacked on? Couldn’t you reach some kind of deal where you agree not to contest the legality of the proceedings, nor get any “external agencies” involved, if they make it a simple “convicted on guilty plea” and knock the fine back down to $71?
OTOH, I can see where $120 just ain’t worth the hassle (and the danger of getting the case opened again with the chance of an even less favorable outcome). Yeah, they do have a sweet scam going there :mad:
Mommyhood is going fine. Mr. Lissar goes back to work on Monday, and I’m a little nervous about it, but I recognise he’s had tonnes of time off, and I’m grateful for it. Nat is fussing in the evenings more, but not for really extended periods, so I don’t think it’s colic (which is weird extended screaming every night, yes?) and he’s getting more interactive, which is fun.
I get pretty tired and grumpy by nine or ten. Mr. Lissar usually takes him for a couple of hours so I can nap. It’s been nice splitting up the day into you-hold-him-now-I’ll-hold-him periods.
I’ve just started using a baby sling, and it does make things a lot easier. He never ever wants to be put down, and without some kind of carrier my arms will eventually fall off.
I’m getting at least six hours of broken-up sleep a night, so I feel pretty good.
Annoying thing to vent about- Mr. Lissar’s sensei, who is not pro-family or marriage (very single-or-dating-guy) implied a couple of days ago that Mr. Lissar hadn’t been around enough, and that it’s the woman’s job to take care of the kids. Actually, it was closer to direct lambasting. I’m really pissed off- he’s taken three weeks partially off, after five years of being there four to six days a week for three to six hours a day. Because he has a new baby and I had major surgery.
I know he’s a sometimes a misogynist bastard, and I should just chalk it up to that, but I’m still pissed.
Driving Husband and Lazy Husband might come over tonight. Without or without QD. And I made brownies a couple of days ago. I feel productive.

I am really, really stressed out about my visa situation right now. If I have to go back to Korea I am going to be miserable.
 -
T-Mobile STILL hasn’t taken care of the $250 bogus charge. I had to spend another half-hour on the phone with them today.
 -
My paycheck is way out of whack. Basically I got paid 1/3 of what I was supposed to be getting paid. I called the payroll department and they said they’d have to look into it. In the meantime I have $30 in my bank account and three bills to pay. My next payday isn’t until the 15th and I have guests to entertain tomorrow.
 -
Cloud Maiden still hasn’t sent me her half of the rent and the landlord is breathing down my neck.

ARGH. Kill me now.
Points 2-4… really and truly annoying, but in the end, “just money.” You can and will manage them.
Visa situation sucks…
 I second the idea of checking whether the fact you were “born into” a green card situation might not give you some rights – or at the very least an extension on your stay while the issue is checked!
I can understand why you’re stressed… {{{Haze}}}
Nah, I’ll have some fun with you and kill you later
Seriously… weekend is starting. Take a deep breath. Vent some more if you need to – we’re all here for you.
{{{Haze}}}
Just got up from my second nap of the day. My shoulder is still touchy, but not quite as bad as this morning, so I guess that’s good. There are about 5 ducks outside swimming around in the enlarged swamp and they have brought upon us the angry wrath of schnoodles!
I thought this was supposed to be the year of the Rat, not the year of the Rat’s Ass.
{{free hugs, please take}}
{{beers for everyone who wants one}}
Mmm, beer. Wait. I have three Guinness left! I must chill one!
I finally got my chef’s salad fix, after waiting a week for it. Plus it’s a huge enough salad, I have half of it for lunch tomorrow, so yay.
My poor sweetie will be working alllllll weekend. He told me the story of why he’s got to do it, and it really pisses me off. But I just let him vent and I’ll leave him alone to do his work. Poor baby.
Kitteh seems to think my spider plants are his personal salad bar. Does he listen when I explain otherwise? Of course not. Stoopit cat.
My brother, the professional, multiple award winning, sound engineer enhanced my kitty video. You may have to turn the volume up a bit…
Hee. Forgot to tell you earlier that I liked the video, rosie. I like the grumbling in the new version.
That court stuff stinks, Bobbio. Is there someone who audits them who could be tipped off as to their lax practices? Might not help VunderWife, but might prevent similar from happening to others sometime down the line.
Let me join the chorus of “I don’t get the garbage bowl.”
Sorry about your stress, Haze. Any chance of your new school sponsoring you? Anyone else you can appeal to at the old school? Do you have anything in writing from anyone? Can you put together documentation to make the case to the old school that they should sponsor you? Any chance you could look into Canada as an alternative to going back to Korea? I’m just thinking out loud. Wish there was something I could do.
Would you like us to whap the sensei upside the head for you, LiLi? I know he has all kinds of arts skills and stuff, but I’ll bet he’d be no match for a mob of angry Mumpers.
Puggy, they had some cute little rats near the Google logo yesterday. They seem to be gone today.
Sounds like you had a busy day, Lunch.
Well…gotta get the Valentines put together.
Back later…
GT
Yesterday was the Lunar New Year - this year is the year of the Rat.
I’ve calmed down a bit. I suppose something will work itself out. Going back to Korea wouldn’t be the most terrible thing in the world, but it’s definitely at the very bottom of my list at the moment. We’ll see what happens when I talk to HR on Monday.
