At 11 months old it’s a little person who can look up at you and love you and shit…
This sucks

That kind of thinking figures little into the mind of someone in a post-partum induced psychotic episode.
What pisses me off is that with all the publicity after horrible incidents like Andrea Yates, her husband knew that his wife was “acting strangely” since the birth, but didn’t think to have it investigated further. I’m not blaming him specifically, I’m blaming a system where the parents aren’t educated about this very serious problem before their child is even born.
Unfortunately, that poor little girl has died. Words cannot adequately express how I feel about this. I’m agnostic, but please, God, let this little girl rest in peace, and never let this happen again. There are no “mysterious ways” that this works, at all.
If there were some way to push a button and off every person who harms a child, I would.
Now normally I’m against the one smiley approach to posting but…
This is just fucking wrong.
Well, the husband was the one trying who got the Day Care center to check on his wife. And, she had months of psychiatric counseling prior. They identified a problem and they took preventive care. Just not enough, obviously, but how much would have been enough? One cannot predict the unpredictable.
I’d be right there next to you helping you push that button.
Oh, shit, I shouldn’t have read this.
My daughter is 11 months old.
I’m going to be in a bad mood for the rest of the day.
Just give her extra hugs, Trion.
When she snuggles against you, then your bad mood will go away.
I know. I’ll feel better when I get home.
OMG, like that other story about the drunk mother who’s kids died while she was on a bender, stories like this make me cringe…my daughter is 10 months old…that poor little thing. I’m crying while I type this. I am also going to be really sad for the rest of the day. And am going to hug my daughter til she wriggles away.
Fortunately, 99.99% of mothers have the same reaction as Trion and biddee to this sort of thing, even at 3 in the morning when woken by a screaming 10-month-old. What was going through this woman’s mind, we probably don’t want to know.
I listen to the news while taking a shower in the morning. I heard this story this morning and almost started bawling. Then they played the 911 tape of the mother calling for help. I couldn’t even stand up any more. I had to sit on the side of the bathtub. It ruined my day. My son just turned a year-old 2 weeks ago. At 11 months, kids know who their mother is. They know alot. I can’t imagine what that poor child went through.
Goddamn.
I have no children, but I can’t hardly even bare to think of something like this happening to one of my dogs, much less a child.
Truly, the world is full of people who would be better of if they’d never been born.
The mother didn’t call for help. 911 called her, after contacted by the Day Care center, which was alerted by the father.
I’m assuming you have another news article other than the one linked… Can you share it?
Never mind, found the CNN article with the same info you gave:
